Anyone familiar with VMK here? My wife and son are really into it. They say there are special cards that can collect at WDW that give you virtually merchandise. Any tips where to collect this at the parks?

My 11 y/o DS was into this for a while. There were a few weeks when he first signed up that he was pretty addicted. Now, I think the novelty has worn off a bit. He hasn't asked to log on in a while!

Use the number 21/25 count shrimp....marinate
1 1/2 Tablespoon minced lemon grass
1 teaspoon minced garlic
1/2 teaspoon ground chili paste
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon sugar
2 tablespoons vegetable oil

Put on bamboo skewers then onto the BBQ ...grill about 2/3 minutes on each side.

VMK stands for Virtual Magic Kingdom. It is an on-line game where you make up your own player and communicate with others playing the game. You can win virtual prizes I think...I really don't know a whole lot about it!

My son is getting so excited about the trip, but especailly his reservation for the pirate adventure.
He saw a shirt while we were out today that had a pirate ship on it, and he pointed to it in the window of the store and said. Mom, that would be great for the day I get to be a pirate. Luckily we were getting some new spring/summer clothes for him today. It's not often he gets excited about clothes, so we just had to get it, and it was nice to see him excited about the trip.

Another day closer to Paradise! Aahhhhhhh....

I'm off to pick up DD's birthday cake and balloons. She got the cutest cake! It's a 1/4 sheet cake, but it's decorated like a present with polka dots on it and on top of it is Mickey and Minnie (she's as addicted as I am).

We are having her party at 6 pm tonight, but it's just us. Family is too far away and she really hasn't made any great friends here yet, at least enough for a big birthday party somewhere. Maybe next year...

Anyway, JC...aren't you at 49 days left??? Woo-hoo for you! I'm right behind ya tomorrow!

Good morning everyone!! Hope everyone is feeling better today. I am still lingering with this junk in my lungs, but I did make an appt. at the dr. for today. Finally.

I had to share that the shirt I bought from Ebay arrived yesterday and it is ADORABLE!! This woman custom made it for me, and it has the Mickey and Friends gang on it, and in Disney-font, reads "Celebrating My Birthday With a Few Good Friends"....

I am so excited to give it to him, but I'll wrap it and give it to him on his birthday down there, so he can wear it that day.

This Ebay seller probably makes a mint just on Disney nuts like us alone!!! I am so not crafty, so I'd never be able to make a shirt like that. But it's neat that you can get something special made for under $13! It was a bargain!!

Oh, and Lake, my DS picked out a pirate shirt not too long ago with the cruise in mind, too! He has several pirate shirts, so we'll see which one he chooses. He has a cute one from the Outer Banks that says "In real life, I'm a pirate!" on the back of it! He's a little obsessed! LOL

Got the WDW DVD yesterday in the mail and we sat down to watch a few minutes. I was very impressed with all that there is to do there. The enormous size of the parks and other attractions make it impossible to see in a 7 day visit.
(My legs and back are already complaining!) The only plans we have are this:

Day 1. Check in and have dinner at Downtown Disney
Day 2. Epcot
Day 3. Disney / MGM
Day 4. Magic Kingdom
Day 5. Animal Kingdom

Going to watch more of the DVD tonight and try to come to more decisions what to do.

She has had a hard time adjusting here... 6th grade is tough on girls to move. She is the type child that internalizes everything, so no matter how she feels inwardly, she'd never tell me. I just know that as her Mother, it has been a hard time.

We got her pink and black balloons to match her new purse! I think she'll love them.

That shirt sounds adorable Marcy!! I hope we run into you & your boys somewhere!

It is so great watching the kids get so excited. Every morning when we go to the bus stop DS 7 asks how many days til Disney! DS 5 says he doesn't want to know when we are going until the morning I wake him up early and we are leaving!! He doesn't really have much concept of time anyway, but he does know it's coming soon.

Just doing some cleaning and today. Still snow on the ground here, but the sun is shining!
