We were at the Poconos - Paradise Stream resort about 4 years ago for our 5th anniversary. It was alright, nothing great. We probably won't go back, too much money for all the more there is to do. Just thought it would be a short drive for you! Do you live near the Crayola Factory? We have thought about taking the kids there sometime.

Yup, we live very close to the Crayola Factory. It's in the next city over from us, about a 15 minute ride. I'm planning on taking Matthew this summer, when Josh is away at camp. We haven't been since Matthew was 2, and he didn't really enjoy it then. Now that he's older, I think he'll really like it. He's my artist...loves to draw/color/paint. I have some buy one admission/ get one free coupons, so if you think you'll come out here this year, PM me and I can send them to you!

DS' birthday is May 22. The word "girlfriend" scares me. My son and his buddies are are more into video games, star wars, ipods, and lord of the rings. They are also into Wierd Al and download him onto thier iPods all the time. They are total geeks and I love it. I took them all to see the last Star Wars movie when it came out. They had all seen it once, but when it ended they all stood up and cheered and applauded. They like girls and will say "I like Jane. She is cool. She knows all the charactors from Star Wars." Or "I like Susan, she totally rocks. She has beat all the levels of my favorite PS game." But they don't call each other yet. I can't even imagine it.

LOL...don't be so worried. I have already gone through this once with my one son and it isn't that bad. The big difference now is that the girls will ask the guys out and call and come over all the time. Just stay involved in your son's life and don't let the girls play his heart or emotions. That is the big thing to watch out for.

Our canadian passports are good for 5 years for adults , not sure what the US passports length of validitity is.
we cross the border with and without our passports. sometimes we just use our drivers license and passports (two forms of id).

We were wondering about the whole passport thing, thanks for clearing that up Lake! We were actually planning to go to Niagara Falls in May for our anniversary, but then decided on Disney instead! We were at Niagara Falls in May 2001 and it was like Victoria or Victorian Days ?? It was a lot of fun and we saw some great fireworks over the Falls. How far do you live from there?

That would be our Victoria Day. (its a holiday weekend, with the monday being the holiday) Named after Queen Victoria.

Out trip to disney runs into this weekend, so Dh won't return to work until May 22. Yah!!!

I live about 4 hours from Niagara falls.
It is on one end of lake Erie and we are on the other. I am in Windsor Ontario, which is direectly across the border from Detroit, Michigan.
Niagara Falls is about 1.5 to 2 hours drive south of Toronto.

I think we are about 4 hours from Niagara Falls as well. I am not really familiar with anywhere else in Canada.
