I wish all the MAYers were going with us.:guilty:

Hey Mayers!!!!

Poppin' in to say hi! I've been busy as of late doing absolutely nothing ....The parks have still been relatively slow, so not nearly as many hours as I was working back in August. I'm going to MK on Saturday with at least one of my roommates and friends from work. I'm super-excited to see the Halloween decorations.

Jo - You had asked about MNSSHP much earlier.....My roommate and her DBF went on Tuesday and loved it! She said the fireworks and the parade were awesome and all of the rides were walk-on, even Fantasyland....We may go on Monday of this coming week, if I do, I'll be sure to post some pics.

Yay Shelly!!!! Way to go!!! :woohoo: :woohoo:

Have fun at MK! Please post pics! I am lonesome for WDW!

SO...... :yay:

I'M OFFICIALLY A MAYER AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :snooty::snooty: :snooty:

May 8th - May 17th I will ba at POP! No park hopper (unless there's a code again) and DxDP again (Bob insists :confused3 )

I am so excited that I could burst! I am going to be checking all week for my airfare to come out because AirTran is still only offering thru May 14th  so, I have to keep my eyes open - I want to snatch it up ASAP because the prices right now seem really good

210 days till I am in WDW!!! I don't think that I can start a banana dude countdown yet.... :rotfl:

Hooray for another Mayer! We love POP! The transportation there is the best we have EVER had at WDW. That is the main reason why we no longer stay deluxe. Huggie and Lake both have stayed at POP! as well and enjoyed it.

We have never stayed preferred but have always been in the 60's building in a non-preferred room. These rooms face the lake which is what we really prefer.

Let me know if I help with you any questions when you are planning your trip.

YAY for MAYers!  :snooty: :snooty:

KB- OMG- you're a MAYer!!!!! Okay- now I'm not thru with THIS trip yet and I'm already wanting to go in MAY again.:rotfl: It's so fun at the F&G fest.
So woo hoo for you. As for the BDC... (Banana Dude Countdown-) um, yeah...
ya' might wanna give it a few days before it commences. :rotfl:

As for my BDC....
I'm spastic with exuberance!:lmao:

NC- you are so awesome to be working so hard for the Race. My Mom is a Breast cancer survivor....... a few times over. The first time she was dx with it, I was two years old.:guilty: So yeah- we are thankful to have her around.:goodvibes

Sulley- oh wow- I am hoping that the parks will be slow when I am ther- But I am afraid it's not going to be too slow. I have been trying to switch some ADR's around and can't get anything. If you get to go to MNSSHP- please give me tps on what to do, when. I am just not sure how to tour the parks then.

Happy October 10th everyone!

Jo

I had no idea your mom is a survivor. That is amazing. My understanding is that treatment has come so far over the last few decades.

I had no idea, but another mom of a boy in my daughter's class at school was diagnosed in May. I didn't know until she walked in the Race Space this week. She found 3 tiny lumps about the size of a pea while doing her self exam. The doctor found 2 more. She had a double masectomy (sp) and they found a 6th lump. Since she was detected early, she is not undergoing chemo or radiation. She is only 37 and was not old enough to have had her baseline mamogram. Early dectection is the best protection!!! Do you self exams girls! Go get your mamograms, if and when you are old enough! I want the MAYers to be chatting for a long time!!!! :cloud9:

Have an awesome day!

When I booked I asked for a standard room also - that was a quick $150 that was saved for us so I'm ok with it!

I am so excited - but now when I came into work today I have a little damper put on my mood... Remember how I told you guys that I was training for a new job in my department? Well, I am still "training" but I am on my own. They haven't ever offered me the job yet, so I am still up in the air about what will happen. I am ok with this for the time being - what I am afraid of is if they DO move me at the beginning of the year (which is usually when they make their moves) then I will be low man on the totem pole for vacation requests  a little fact that i kinda forgot to consider BEFORE I booked.... :guilty: I know that I can move ressies with WDW no problem - but where I am concerned is with my airfare. I don't want to have to wait until Feb to book! The prices are awesome now!

I just don't know if I should talk to my boss or not? I don't want her to think that I feel like I am entitled to get to request vaca time before other people or something.... ugh..... what should I do?

I would sit tight. I would think that for the same reason that May is awesome month to go to WDW because people are not vacationing, people at work might not be as likely to take off that week. KWIM

What do you think?

Off to the Race Space!

Hello MAYers! :snooty:

YAY JO ~ 13 DAYS!! :cool1: I am so jealous!

Hey Sulley ~ Thanks for checking in! :yay: I can't wait to see your pics!

Hi NC, Sea, Katie, and Mari! :goodvibes

RF ~ I would probably wait on the airfare. Especially if you are going with AirTran. I'm not sure if they will let you switch your flights like SW does. You might want to check on that. Of course if you book with AT it's 99.9% likely they will change your flight time, so then you could cancel if you needed to!

JO ~ there are some great new pics of all the villages at CBR on the CBR pics thread! :goodvibes I forget, did you guys make a village request?

Hey everybody-

Have a great weekend!

Hope your weather is beautiful where you are!

Jo

PS- Shelly- thanks- I will check themout- and we requested Aruba or Jamaica at the recommendation of a wonderful MAYer friend... :snooty: you.:goodvibes

J~

HEY ALL.... i see our mayers have been busy bees....

Well today i took my DD to the Bronx Zoo.... We had a blast... we got there when the park opened at 10 and left around 4.... It was great. I will have to post some pics up.... I'm trying to take her to different places now that I am not working. Next up is the Aquarium....

Where are all the pics of haircuts that i hear about...

RF - YAY for being a Mayer again..... I know what you mean about the airfare if you wait until february. But when we went in May i believe I didn't book our flights until the end of Jan and we still got a good deal.

Jo - YAY you are almost there..... I am so excited for you. I hope you enjoy CBR as much as my family did....

Mornin MAYers.

Hope you are having a fabulous Fall day!:goodvibes

We are watching football all day (but of course-) and the kids are planning on playing with their friends.

I had wanted to go out and buy Mums and pumpkins- but figured that since we are leaving- everything would die. When we lived in NY, we used to go to this amazing farm that had the wagon rides and such- and corn mazes. Ahhh- that is one thing I miss about the north. The Fall was always spectacular there.

Anyway- happy hugs to all MAYers in your little corner of the World-

:grouphug:

Morning all my Mayers..... I had a great weekend. Spent the weekend with my family nothing special. On Sun went to watch my DB and DNeph play football... today nothing eventful. Hanging out with one of my sisters since it's her day off. Then i'll see if i can do laundry today if not it will get done tommorow....

How was everyone else's weekend....

JO - YOU are almost there.....

Hiya! We had sort of an eventful weekend. My oldest DS25 is back home now, and it was so good to see him. He moved in with DS22 who bought a 2 bedroom condo specifically so his brother could stay with him until he is situated and ready to move out on his own. When he first got here with all of his stuff (not much) in a small UHaul trailer, DS22 took one look at DS25's 65" HD Projection Screen TV and said, no way, my TV is big enough (and it is!) and that thing would dominate the living room. So DS25 said, well what am I supposed to do with it? I can't fit it up the stairs to my room! Thought we were going to have WW3 on our hands, but Brrt said, ok, we have room for you to keep it on our living room (we do, but barely ) and you can come over and watch it when you want until you are ready to get your own place. So now I have a GINORMOUS TV in my living room, a HUGE BLACK BOX  But...the picture is really great, like having a movie theater in there. I know when he takes it back we will be saying, oh, our old TV is too small, now we need a bigger one. Just not THAT big :rotfl2:

We went to Apple Hill on Saturday -- a fall tradition for us. It's a collective of apple farms about 50 miles east of here, in the Sierra foothills. When you park and get out of the car, it just smells so incredible, like apples, and pines, and cider, and fudge mmmmmmmm.... It's beautiful up there and the air is so clean, especially compared to here in the valley. They have pumpkin patches (but the pumpkins are way overpriced ), hayrides, Christmas tree farms, craft sellers, wine tasting, all kinds of fun things. We bought cider from the cider mill (and a couple of extra gallons to freeze until Halloween), fudge, apple donuts...

Got home from there and my DS17 came out as we were unloading the car and said, there is water all over the hall bathroom floor. :scared1: And water backing up in the shower, the tub, the laundry sink...arrrrrrrgh!!!!!!! Called the plumber and he came out and fixed it (we live in an old neighborhood and have had occasional drain issues since we moved in 8 years ago, tree roots in the line, etc) Grrrr...$125 I wasn't planning on spending. Ah well, at least everything seems to be working again, knock on wood. But I spent the rest of Saturday and part of Sunday scrubbing icky floors and tubs and showers, bleah.

But we had a fire in the fireplace Saturday and Sunday, and Brrt mulled a gallon of cider, and we watched a cool movie on the ridiculously huge TV with DS25 and DS17, so all-in-all it was a good weekend. Off to work this morning to crunch numbers...but now I'm one week closer to DL!

How is the rest of the Mayer crew???:banana::snooty::snooty::banana::banana:

mornin!

So I can officailly say....

Next week, I'm going to Disney World!!!!

We had a wonderful weekend--- topped off by the Gators spanking the LSU Whiners, I mean, Tigers.;) Oh but it was a fine game.
We've watched it now, um, 5 times start to finish. Mark says we are completely obsessed. Maybe just a bit.

The kids have today out of school- so they are excited to be playing with friends.

Yesterday, I put a roast and potatoes, carrots and onions in the crock pot and it cooked all day- it smelled like winter in the house!:lovestruc

KB- you weekend, minus catastrophe canyon in the bathroom sounds like a perfect one! I really miss going to the farms in NY in the fall. It was such a great memory of the kids picking out their pumpkins and such. Woo hoo for the loaner big screen.:rotfl:

Mari- Laundry bites. I hate it. Loathe is a good word. I know that I should just do a little along, but I never do and then I spend days playing catch up.
Heard anything else from DSS Psycho non-girlfriend???

Hope everyone has a great day- I'm doing last minute stuff for the trip- I have to clean out my binder and get it all straight.

Yay for trips to WDW!

JO

Hi Everyone!

Sounds like the MAYers have had some fun weekends!

Mari - Spending time with family is just the best. Especially when it is laid back. Please update us on the drama with your DSS.

KB - What an awesome weekend. I sure don't envy the clean up though. It brings back memories of my laundry room flood a couple of weeks ago. :sad2: But the good news is that your floors are sparkling clean now! :upsidedow

Jo- Tomorrow you will be in single digits. :woohoo: I am glad Florida handed LSU a big serving of humble pie. You guys will for sure go up in the rankings. My hubby thinks Alabama and Texas will be ranked 1 and 2 since Oklahoma lost. Florida should for sure move up since LSU was ranked higher than they were. If Florida were to move up to #3, then Arkansas would actually look better. We would have then be beaten by #1, #2, and #3. :yay: We beat Auburn and they were ranked #20. So we are thrilled since this is a HUGE rebuilding year for the Hogs. When does FL play Bama?

Race for the Cure was awesome. The Pasta Party Friday night was wonderful. It was at the Rivermarket which is a huge outdoor pavillion on the Arkansas River Downtown. The weather was perfect. Low 70's, not humid. The band was awesome, food was great, and spirits were high.

I didn't sleep that night. I came home around 9:30 and rested a little. Around 2:30, I got ready and drove downtown to help get ready for Race. I love the drive downtown on Race morning. One of the high rise buildings lights up their windows with a pink ribbon the entire month of October. It is so cool to see that building on Race morning. We got everything set up in record time. Around 5:30 people started pouring into downtown for Race. Every year, it seems people come earlier and earlier and earlier.

We had enough people to work the Boutique and very little merchandise left. So my friend and I who chaired the Boutique walked in the Race. She hadn't walked it in several years. It was my first time to ever walk the Little Rock race. I have always worked it. I am so glad I had the opportunity. It is an awesome experience. To see all the survivors in their pink t-shirts with their family and friends is a great celebratory experience. It is also a day to remember. Technology is so awesome there were lots of teams with T-shirts with a photo of their loved one on the back who has been lost to cancer. It is really an emotional journey to walk the race and see the mix of celebration of beating cancer balanced by those remembering the loved ones they have lost. I am so glad I was able to walk this year.

Well, after all of that, I decided to decorate my front door for Halloween. I thought I would post a pic:

Have a great day MAYers!!!

Hi Everyone!

Woke up yesterday morning and there was a lot of smoke and ash in the air. There is a fire about 30 miles away in the valley and it is really bad today. Winds are up to 60 mph in some areas.

http://abclocal.go.com/kabc/index

My son goes to school in the valley and we are picking him up because the smoke and the ash are so bad it is hard for him to breathe.

In other news, our dog got out Thursday night and we couldn't find her. We put up signs and check the shelters every day. Yesterday afternoon we went back to one of the shelters and she was there! Somebody had found her late Saturday night and brought her in. We are so glad that she wasn't injured or killed.

Good afternoon MAYers!

It was a beautiful long weekend here. :goodvibes We had 75-80 degrees everyday! The kids go back to school tomorrow.

Yesterday was a great day at soccer. Today wasn't so great. The kids had a doctor appointment. DS7 had to get 2 shots (which we knew about ahead of time) which he took very well. But then he got sent for some blood work for a minor problem he's been having. That did not go over so well. He screamed like I've never heard either of the kids scream before. :sad2: It was terrible. I am drained. He is doing fine now, but what an ordeal that was.

So glad your DS is home Katie.

So glad you found your dog Sea. That must have been scary.

Hope everyone is having a good day and doing well!

Hey all....

Jo - YAY you are almost there..... Oh I can't wait to see pics....

KB - Hi.... That is a HUGE TV.... I'm glad that your DS is back at home... Wow 2 young bachelors in the same household... party central....

Sea - I'm so happy your found your dog. I knwo wthat must have been scary.

Shelly - Oh poor honey getting blood drawn. that is the worst especially if the person that to play around with the needle thing. I hate that.

So to get to my DSS and his Psycho non-girlfriend.... well he met a guy that she has been dating for a couple of months and they too have been intimate. But the other guy actually went with her to the doctor to confirm the length of her pregnancy... it must have been a "miracle" but it showed that she was NOT pregnant. Why would she say ok if she knew she wasn't pregnant.... I'm telling you the girls are not smart or don't mind being embarassed.... But atleast that ordeal is over..... Oh yes and the other guys said that he is going to bring my DSS the paperwork that shows she is not pregnant so he can have a copy.

Phew....:scared: that's a relief Mari. I know you guys are so glad to hear that!!!
