Hiya! We had sort of an eventful weekend. My oldest DS25 is back home now, and it was so good to see him. He moved in with DS22 who bought a 2 bedroom condo specifically so his brother could stay with him until he is situated and ready to move out on his own. When he first got here with all of his stuff (not much) in a small UHaul trailer, DS22 took one look at DS25's 65" HD Projection Screen TV and said, no way, my TV is big enough (and it is!) and that thing would dominate the living room. So DS25 said, well what am I supposed to do with it? I can't fit it up the stairs to my room! Thought we were going to have WW3 on our hands, but Brrt said, ok, we have room for you to keep it on our living room (we do, but barely

) and you can come over and watch it when you want until you are ready to get your own place. So now I have a GINORMOUS TV in my living room, a HUGE BLACK BOX

But...the picture is really great, like having a movie theater in there. I know when he takes it back we will be saying, oh, our old TV is too small, now we need a bigger one. Just not THAT big
We went to Apple Hill on Saturday -- a fall tradition for us. It's a collective of apple farms about 50 miles east of here, in the Sierra foothills. When you park and get out of the car, it just smells so incredible, like apples, and pines, and cider, and fudge mmmmmmmm.... It's beautiful up there and the air is so clean, especially compared to here in the valley. They have pumpkin patches (but the pumpkins are way overpriced

), hayrides, Christmas tree farms, craft sellers, wine tasting, all kinds of fun things. We bought cider from the cider mill (and a couple of extra gallons to freeze until Halloween), fudge, apple donuts...
Got home from there and my DS17 came out as we were unloading the car and said, there is water all over the hall bathroom floor.

And water backing up in the shower, the tub, the laundry sink...arrrrrrrgh!!!!!!! Called the plumber and he came out and fixed it (we live in an old neighborhood and have had occasional drain issues since we moved in 8 years ago, tree roots in the line, etc) Grrrr...$125 I wasn't planning on spending. Ah well, at least everything seems to be working again, knock on wood. But I spent the rest of Saturday and part of Sunday scrubbing icky floors and tubs and showers, bleah.
But we had a fire in the fireplace Saturday and Sunday, and Brrt mulled a gallon of cider, and we watched a cool movie on the ridiculously huge TV with DS25 and DS17, so all-in-all it was a good weekend. Off to work this morning to crunch numbers...but now I'm one week closer to DL!
How is the rest of the Mayer crew???
