This is actually a late start on the Christmas shopping for me! :rotfl: I usually start in the summer!! This January vacation is really throwing me off!

Disney gift cards are a great idea for your family. My in-laws always give me money to buy for my kids from them (pretty much because they never come around and don't know what the kids even like :sad2: ). So anyway, I think I am going to get the kids Disney gift cards with that money! :goodvibes

Your kids will love Giftcards.... and when they open it and realize that they are going to Dis.. that is going to be great.... You haven't told them have you Shelly....

Oh heavens no, I haven't told them. It's been hard, there have been a couple of times when I really really wanted to tell them. Like when DS9 has looked at me so sad and said - I don't want to wait 2 years to go back to Disney! Or when DS7 was getting his blood test. But I've stayed strong.

There have been a couple of times when DH and/or I have nearly spilled the beans by accident. But we've covered it up well.

It is going to be so worth it all when we can finally tell them on Christmas, but I still don't think I'd ever do this again. It's just too hard!

OH i could imagine.... just imagine their excitement when you do tell them... You should take a video of it.... that would be cute..... When we go next time i'll surprise my DD... next time we go won't be until atleast 2010 :( well other then this jan...

mornin-
I'm off to do some shopping that I never got around to yesterday.

Seems I started reading the Twilight book yesterday.... and I couldn't put it down. So I read the entire book yesterday and now I have to go hunt down the rest of the series. MCat told me about it and that I needed to read it. Now I'm a Twilight junkie and can't wait for the movie to come out on the
21st of November. Our entire conversation last night centered on who would have played the part of Edward, the vampire, the best:lmao: 'Cause we don't think guy who got the lead role is fine enough, (In Mcat's words). :lmao:

Oh man oh man.

Say a prayer for Mark to get his work done before the trip, please, if you can spare a prayer. He is totally stressed. So much to do and not enough hours to get it done in. Thanks.

As far as I am concerned- I have a few things in my suitcase- nothing in the kids yet. I'm thinking that this weekend will be my big push.
Belle has just about outgrown all of her shorts, so now I'm in a panic.

Let the shopping begin!

NC- hope hte dentist is okay
Shelly- ooooh...Christmas shopping--- I think I may faint.
KB- love the shiny new ticker. It suits you well.:goodvibes
Mari- have a good day with your DSis and Co.
Sea- hope the fires are dying down...

RF, Sulley- check in please..... :grouphug:

Have a great day, MAyers.

Jo

Hey JO - Have fun shopping..... I'll say a little prayer for Mark to finish all his work and not be stressed out. What is this twilight book... i never heard of it...

KB, we will have to FP, Soarin' - it is a great ride. Sun Wheel closed on Sunday. I think Maliboomer is going to be closed very soon too. This week the new DCA preview center opens for APers. I can't wait to see the artwork and models of what is going to be built.

I just found out last night, my wife's friend from FL is going to be in town and coming to DLR that same time too. So we are going to have a big party. LOL.

Sea

Soarin' Over California is probably my all time favorite ride ANYWHERE :goodvibes CA Screamin' is good -- I like Matterhorn, Space, and Big Thunder better, but it's a good coaster and I always ride it at DCA. Grizzly River, yes, we like it -- better in hot weather than December  But I'll try to remember ponchos so we aren't walking around soaked. I just can't do drop rides like ToT or heaven forbid the Maliboomer :scared1: DH loves that one too, but I understand it's closing. I also have problems with the Sun Wheel -- anything that takes me up high...and then...leaves me up high...for a long time...and I want to come back down...and I can't... :faint:

I know I want to ride Soarin' (at least twice, but we'll also be in DCA other days), TSM for sure, and I want to see the Aladdin show. Are they closing MSEP? I didn't see it listed on the entertainment schedule for December. Brrt couldn't care less about parades, but I love them...and that one has fond memories for me...I remember when it really was on Main Street :goodvibes And after we've had our day of fun with you guys, I'm dragging Brrt to dinner at Ariel's with the princesses (he's a good sport, and a little bit of a flirt, so he'll go along with that ). I took DSD and DGD there in February and it was really fun with okay food, and I've read that they've greatly improved the menu, so that's good. I don't think I can request Priority Seating until 30 days before, though.

I need pixie dust, some MAYer love and a comfortable blanket....:guilty:

I have a UTI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now I'm on an antibiotic!!!! Which makes me feel rotten.:sad1:

This was NOT part of the plan for the week before vacation, waaaaaahhhh!

Tell me a joke, I feel like poo-poo.:rotfl:

Jo

Sorry to hear you are not feeling well Jo. I hope you are all better soon!

Here is a little something to cheer you up:

You Know Your Mind is Still at Walt Disney World When...

. . . you go to your local fast-food restaurant by yourself, pay with a $20 bill, and are in shock when you get change back.

. . . you see two lines anywhere (bank, supermarket, etc.) and you go to the one on the left because it might be quicker.

. . . you buy a bottle of water for 79 cents and are convinced that the price is wrong.

. . . you hear the phone ring early in the morning, and expect to hear Mickey Mouse giving you a wake-up greeting.

. . . your best friend calls you at the hotel you are staying at on the way home from WDW early in the morning, and instead of saying "hello", you just listen for Mickey, and when you don't hear his voice, you hang up without saying a word!

. . . you sit by the fountain at your local mall and wonder when the next show will be.

. . . you're listening to the IllumiNations music on CD and mentally picking out a place to sit after your wonderful meal at Le Cellier or San Angel Inn.

. . . you're wondering why the cashier at the supermarket is looking at you funny, and then you realize you've just given her Disney Dollars.

. . . you're riding the light rail to an Orioles game and it seems and sounds just like the monorail.

. . . you can't stop smelling the book you're reading for English class because you swear it smells just like Pirates of the Caribbean...and you ask several people to smell it, just to make sure you're not crazy.

. . . you experience intense cravings for a Dole Whip when you pass a hot dog cart.

. . . you go walking down the street and wonder why you can't smell the aroma of piped-in chocolate chip cookies.

. . . you stick your hands under the faucet in the restroom at work and are surprised when the water doesn't automatically turn on.

. . . you see an aminal and wonder it it's real or animatronic.

. . . you are careful when stepping onto sidewalks because you think they may be moving.

. . . you imagine you are on the Tower of Terror while going up and down on the hydrolic lifts at work.

. . . the orange-smelling air freshener in the lobby gives you flashbacks of Horizons.

. . . you drive up to a toll booth and almost take out your resort ID to get admitted to the TTC parking lot instead of the toll.

. . . you see a shrub "almost" in the shape of a hippo (and consider getting out your pruning shears to make it "perfect").

. . . you take the train to work and are surprised the next stops are not Tomorrowland, Fantasyland, or Mickey's Toon Town.

. . . you constantly hear Disney music in your head.

. . . you stop at the first rest stop in Florida on the long trip home and are shocked at its condition.

Wow, over 200 pages! ..and this is part III!! :)

Still kinda' new here and feeling my way around.

We're in WDW May 12-22!! Staying at Pop! We've booked our room and paid 1 night deposit, now waiting/hoping for some code or discount for dining. We just booked our flights too, so now it's REALLY real! :cool1:

I wondered how I was going to keep up this level of excitement for all these months of waiting, but I don't think it's going to be a huge problem around here! :lovestruc

:snooty:

I am happy to report that as of this morning I am feeling better, a lot better. The Dr said that we caught it in it's early stages-so I'm only on 7 days worth of the antibiotic. I had a fever last night and felt completely drained when I posted- I put my PJ's on and crawled into bed. Mark was out at a business dinner so I let the kids run wild in the house. It sounded like the whole thing was gonna fall down, but I didn't care.:lmao:

Sea- thank you so much for your post. You made me feel so much better.

Salinger- welcome to our MAYer thread! :snooty: We've been talking for, um, almost two years (has it really been that long???) --- so jump on in and give us the scoop on your trip. We all went in MAY of 2007, then some of us went in 2008- and as of right now, only Rusafee is planning a trip in MAY of '09- but things change quickly with us MAYers, LOL.
Let me make the formal introductions to everyone::snooty:
I am ducking out to WDW in *ahem* one week--- please, everyone, don't throw anything at me... and Shelly (MomoftwoDisneyBoys) is planning a January trip. Mari is going in January as well for a couple of days. KatieBell (Aka: KB) just got back from WDW, but is planning on meeting SeaCrest at DL in December( hopefully at the 'O' in CalifOrnia... I want a pic of that, y'all). Rusafee (Aka RF) is going in May when you are there- and New Crew (Aka NC) ususally plans a last minute trip (and last minute packing too;) ) in April or May, so we are all waiting to hear her plans for next year. We also have Sulley who pops in every now and then to check in with us so that we know she's still breathing (that's a hint, Sulley...;) ) she's at WDW, with the college program, but is working on making it her permanent lifestyle. There are others of us that we have lost along the way- but hoping they check in soon.
So there you have it- hope you'll become a permanent resident of the MAYer thread!:snooty:

Okay- so my Countdown pig in the house says 7 days from today I will be in the Happiest Place on Earth. If Mark's job doesn't let up- I think it might not be so happy.:sad2: I think the Blackberry is gonna be thrown out with the garbage, lOL. Whoops!:rotfl:

KB- thanks so much for the suggestions. Uti's ARE the worst. Did you know that nurses are the worst patients???:rotfl: We give out advice and never take it ourselves. So I'm going downstairs to get a jug of water. The Dr wanted to put me on Pyridium for the bladder spasms, but I abhor that junk, so no dice. I'll suffer thru the pain, thank you very much, doc. I want to meet you and Sea at the 'O'!!!!!!!! That sounds so cute.

Shelly- those two threads were awesome! I can't wait to get there to see CBR. We get in so late Thursday night that on Friday, I have us just hanging out and doing whatever. We're going to go to the pool and such.
Anyone want to see my plans for where I'm going, when????

I bought a new memory card for my camera! It says it will hold 620 images- so I will be taking lots more pics than the usual 4. hahahahaha. I will take a back up memory just in case I go over 620.... I don't see how I will, but I know you guys take thousands, LOL.

Okay- so I'm off. I have to clean and print out directions to CBR and to the Tulsa airport.

Oh wow, I'm excited now!

Have a great day, MAYers!

Jo

Can I just say that I am SO JEALOUS that Katie and Sea are meeting up at DISNEYLAND?????!!!!! :rotfl: I wanna go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, I'm done whining. I will go to DL someday!! :goodvibes

I am sad that I won't be having a MAYer meet in January. :sad1: I can't believe I am only missing Mari by a few weeks. How about it NC? An early 2009 trip?? :rotfl: Hopefully I'll get to see Sulley again! :yay:

JO - Glad you are feeling better already. And yes, we'd like to see your plans! I already have mine all figured out! Can't wait!! :yay: And you better fill up that memory card. Lots of CBR pics please! :flower3: I sure hope you love it as much as Mari, RF and I do!

RF - I must see pics of you and Bob doing the hustle at POP!! :rotfl:

Did I mention - 97 days until I'm at WDW???!!! Crap, that sounds like a long time. How about 14 weeks? That sounds better! :woohoo:

RF - Ok, you need take some video of you doing the "Hustle" and post it for all us to see. No excuses!!!

Jo - Glad you are feeling better this morning - glad you liked the post. I will definitely be taking pictures of our meet-up. I will post a few pics up from my Blackberry while we are there to our thread here.

Shelly - Awwww...I hope you and your family can make out to DLR and DCA really soon someday. My family would love to meet yours.

Hi Mari!!

Welcome Salinger! Congrats on your upcoming trip to WDW. Our family went back to WDW last May and had a blast. I live here in SoCal. It is 37 miles from my garage to DLR Mickey and Friends parking structure. We go down there almost every weekend to meet up with friends and work on our Toy Story Midway Mania scores. LOL! Check out my youtube site to see some of my trips to DLR. www.youtube.com/tommyflix These are great people here, lots of good info and very friendly. You will like this thread!
