ok guys!!! i don't have too much time because we are still packing
we aren't professionals yet... :confused3

the wedding was BEAUTIFUL!!!! it was raining during the day, but we weren't outside really at all, except for pictures after the ceremony and it cleared up while we were shooting... my dress was stunning and i only cried a few times
... we had so many people tell us afterward that it was the sweetest ceremonY that they had ever been to and that they didn't want it to end ... :lovestruc ... which is wierd cuz people are usually just waiting to party afterward  ... i really started bawling when the pastor told us what bob and i had written about each other when he gave us our secret homework assignment (write 10 things that you love about each other, but don't tell the other person)... i was listening to what bob had written and i was starting to tear up when i glanced over at my brother who was bawling :sad1: .... awwwww.... when i saw that - i started SOBBING ... I couldn't even say my vows - i wa scrying so hard... i had to whisper them....

but, afterward - the party was great - the food was awesome - our DJ was AMAZING ... everyone was telling us how fun he made everything (we even did a "soul train" line :rotfl: )

the only bad things that happened was i hated my bridesmaids bouquets.... my limo driver didn't know where he was going and someone had to direct him almost the whole time (even though i e mailed all of the locations and times weeks ago :sad2: ) and my photographer (who you guys already knew was trouble) didn't want to shoot anything because it was drizzling and he "didn't want to ruin his new $4,000 camera out in the rain" (ummmm, isn't that what i paid you like almost 2 grand to do... an has anyone but me heard of a BACKUP PLAN... :headache: ) until my brother said (very bluntly, i may add) "hey heather ... how much did that dress cost you?... i mean i'm just saying you're out in the rain and you're dealing pretty well..." :rotfl2:

it was beautiful... all of a sudden "oh, it's not so bad out here... oh, look i think it's starting to clear up a bit" :sad2: ... thank god for my brother

so, even after al that - it was soooo perfect and i couldn't have asked for a better day

but, i do have to go and buy 1 more pair of crocs for each of us :rotfl2: and go to my parents house so we can have dinner and sleep there so in the am my dad can take us to the airport so my husband   can finally meet the mouse!!!!

thanks so much for being excited for us MAYers.... :snooty: i promise i'll post pics ASAP!!!!

:grouphug:

Congrats:bride: I am so happy for you!!

Have a great DisneyMoon!!!

Well, does anyone want to tell me a good camera to look into getting? Just a simple point and shoot. I am not tech savvy- and the one camera I have stinks.

Is a Nikon Coolpix a bad camera? I saw one at Sam's yesterday- model S550--
or what about a Sony Cybershot?? I just want soemthing that is small- for around $200 and some odd dollars.

I currently have a Kodak big ole lug thingy and I actually really don't like it.

It's too too large and I want soemthing I can throw into my bag and go.

Thanks.

We've been out and about this weekend.

Oh, big news. TDS at RP mall is closing, Shelly.
I am so sad!! We went there yesterday- I had to buy some makeup at Macy's and go to VS... so we popped into TDS and they have a big sign saying they will be closed in 6 weeks!:sad2:

Um....... okay, other news... let's see...
okay, nothing. I've got nothing.

Talk to you all tomorrow!
Where the countdown continues!!!

Jo, we love our Sony Cybershot, and I've gotten some really great pics with it. The biggest problem we've had is that the big memory stick we have for it has a crack so we are constantly worried it might fail (hasn't yet!) and we can't get that style of memory stick anymore :( Such is the price of progress...it's an older model, but I'm sure the newer ones have plenty of memory and the type of memory stick isn't obsolete  So before my last trip to DL we got a HP Photosmart -- very compact, very easy to use, HUGE memory storage. Sad thing is it takes really crummy pics in dim light -- my night time parade pics turned out pretty bad. Didn't know how, until after the trip, to change the resolution settings to get better pics in dim light. Lot less storage that way, but still plenty of room. And when Tim is with me, we take the laptop on our trips and dump the camera every night so we have full memory storage on it the next day.

Jo- I have a canon. They have a bunch of point and shoot. I will look to see what the model is.

Congratulations RF!! :goodvibes Thanks for posting before you leave on your Disneymoon!! Have a safe trip and maybe we'll see you next week!! :wizard:

JO - That news makes me so sad! I wonder if TDS in the South Hills Village Mall will remain open? That is the only other one remotely close that I know of. . . . . . Oh, and I have a Kodak Easy Share. It's very simple and works well for the most part! I am about due for a new one though.

Mari - when we wake tomorrow it will be only 5 DAYS!!!!! I have so much going on this week so the time should fly by!! At least I hope so!! :yay:

Talk to everybody tomorrow!! Sweet Dreams! :cloud9:

Jo

I have a sony Cybershot and I love it! It is so small. I can toss it in my purse, fanny pack or even in a pocket in my blue jeans! I just bought a 2G memory card for it for this trip. Mine also has a cool cord that I wear it like a necklace which I have been known to do on school field trips.

The only issue I have is that it doesn't do very good night photos, and photos from a great distance, like a school program and you aren't on the front row. It's like my flash doesn't reach that far. My husband just asked me this last trip, like what setting should you have it on, etc. And I went... :confused3

And then he said, "Didn't you read your owners manual?"

And I went...:sad2:

And then he went .... :sad2:

And that was the end of that discusion.

I was thinking I might want a new one as mine is about 4 years old, it was a mother's day gift. mine is only 5.1 megapixals. I think the new ones have around 7 or 8 megapixals. But I have no idea what any of that means!

Oh, mine also will record video like movies. I don't use this feature because the quality of the video is very poor and it uses up all of your memory. But that could be a user error. Once again, I not very savvy about these things. However, my dh said that he thinks that was the camera. It doesn't record as nice a quality as a camcorder type of thing. And he is very savvy about those things. He is very into electronics. However, this is MY camera and he doesn't mess with it. Which is good and bad. Good because it doesn't get put on a setting that I don't know how to get it off of and bad because he is way better with electronics than I am.

I need simple. :goodvibes

Hi all.....

RF - Great to hear from you. I'm glad to know your wedding was wonderful. You see all the stress and it went great. Enjoy your honeymoon incase i don't see you over there. Don't forget your pins.

Jo - I had a Nikon Coolpix... I loved it. The pics were great. Very simple to use. The only thing was that you cannot get great fireworks pics from it. But all in all good camera. I now have a panasonic lumix something or other... my DH bought it i would rather have the Nikon....

6 DAYS LEFT!!!

Hey RF: Congratulations! Thanks for stopping by for a update on your wedding. Glad you had a wonderful time. Have a great honeymoon and a safe trip!

Jo: Right now I really like for the point and shoot models the Canon cameras SD series, and for the SLR's, my next purchase will be a Nikon DS 40 or 60.

Check out this web site: http://www.dpreview.com/

On the left hand side, click on the link "Camera Database" there you will find all the different manufacturers.

You will find an extensive digital camera technical reviews, sample photo galleries and you can even see what they are selling for at the different web sites online. It is quite a thorough site.

8 days for me!!!

This has been the longest month of my life, LOL. I don't ever want to plan a spur of the moment trip again. Um, okay, I would, but it would be under much protesting. (not.):rotfl:

We're having a friend come by tonight for dinner. He's a co-worker of Mark's, but we were all family friends when we lived in Arkansas, and he is in Pittburgh for a few days. It will be so good to see someone we know and love from Bentonville--- we miss it so much.:cloud9:

chocolate cake is in the oven!! Yumm.

Sea- thanks for the link. I will study it intently, but i am afraid I won't know what I'm looking at.

Thanks everyone for their thoughts on cameras!:flower3:
What is most important when choosing a camera??? the one I saw- at Sam's the other day- the Nikon Coolpix thingamabob- hasn't gotten glowing reviews. Is anyone truly "in love" with their digital camera???

I currently have a kodak easyShare- but it is one of the bIG ones, (is yours the small kind, Shelly?) not one you can put into your bag. Thus the 2 pics I took last year on the trip. I didn't want to carry around a big lug. It is an older model and I am having serious issues with taking indoor pics with it. In floresecent lighting the pic is black- so my kids have no pics of anything they've ever done at school. Sad, but true.
Maybe I've got a lemon?????
:rolleyes1 "Camera a lemon??? call 1-800-MY-LEMON". :rolleyes1 you know the commercial.

I have to decide something soon.

RF- hope you land at the magical place and find much magic in the air!princess:

Have a great day, MAYers.

Jo

Just got back from tanning and the post office. Did you all know that stamps are going up again Monday??? I think this happened last year int he middle of our vacation. Anyway, I already had the post card stamps for our vacation, so I had to buy a bunch of 1 cent stamps to go with them. But I finally got my hair shipped off to Locks of Love! Yes it's been sitting in a plastic bag on my counter for over a week! Looked really gross in the bag! And I put a hold on our mail for vacation.

A few things checked off my list for today anyway! So much going on this week. It's end of the year parent-teacher conferences, so therefore it's early dismissal days Wed, Thu, & Fri. Plus 2 PTO meetings, my volunteer day for DS9's classroom, soccer, plus last minute vacation stuff to take care of! Oh my, I can't wait for Saturday to get here!!!!! :yay:

My camera is pretty small JO. It fits in the very small bag I carry at WDW. It fits in my purse. Wait, you saw it at the mall, remember??? It's not as small as they make them now, but it's not big by any means. I think I got it about 3 years ago for about $200.

Okay, I must go shower!

I would say I love my Sony Cybershot. The cameras I had before it I hated and rarely took pics of my kids. The camera was too big and I couldn't get it on the right setting or if I thought it was on the right setting it wasn't and my pics came out terrible. With my Cybershot, I get a great pic unless the pic is in a dark setting. So, most of time, I get a good picture.

I love my Sony because it is so small. I am very likely to have it with me now in theme parks and on vacation, school trips, etc. It is so easy to carry and it is a point and shoot. Pics come out great, unless it is night like a Disney nighttime parade, or I am in the back of the gym trying to take pics of a school program.

Last night I asked my hubby about the new Sony Cybershots and he said they have improved the light sensitivity which will help with night shots and school program shots. He also said they are better than the one I have now. He also said these cameras are not really meant to take to video which is why the video take is such poor quality. According to him, the one I have now is really old. I have had it for 4 years! (This is always shocking to me. 4 years just doesn't seem that old to me. I still think it is new. :confused3 )

He has a Canon something or other that is huge which would be perfect for those sorts of things like night photography and school programs but he never keeps it charged and it is HUGE and so I certainly don't want to carry it around. Therefore, it never gets taken to the school program so we have pictures with my camera that look a little dim.

When I was talking to him last night, he said "So you want a new camera for Mother's Day?"
