I REAALLLYYY need to work on my Buffett trivia/song references.

But I think you will help me out :lmao:

Debbie

Scott is better than me. He knows all of the obscure stuff.
Hey, he taught Elaine how to do FINS at the whine and cheese thingie before the last cruise, maybe Mr Scott can do an encore?

"Gypsies in the Palace" is one of my favs.

Hmmmm. Wonder if Jimmy ever used a bagpipe in one of his songs.

Hi everyone!
Finally made it back to North America and clothes are in the wash as we speak! The house is in one big packing state and I will get to add to it tomorrow. It will be a very hectic 48 hours and am not sure where I am supposed to sleep in there. Oh well I am sure I can find some sun and a deck chair sometime in the next two weeks!

Congrats to all the passport people - what a huge relief that must be!:thumbsup2

Well done on the medals - great accomplishment and I bet all the family is very proud!:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

I saw the list of number of cabins and people - how many are kids?

To all the photo gurus out there - do you know if we can get our photos put on a disc by the photo people on the ship? I was not going to take a computer but DW will be clicking away madly and I will need to be able to cleaer space on the camaras regularly.:)

We had the help of the Wrigley Field Concert Video.

Explanation time.........
if it seems like Scott and I are incongruently babbling (maybe we are)
it usually is some sort of Buffett reference.

Maybe we should have splained our selves a while back, oop too late,

What do you mean get a life :lmao: :goodvibes :lmao: , but I got a School boy heart, a novelist's eye, stout sailors legs and a license to fly. Better than being an over forty victim of fate, looking for that one particular harbor, BUT NOT YET!!!!!!:thumbsup2 :goodvibes :rotfl2:

4 bags at 35lbs with some giveaway stuff, that will lighten the load.

Shutters can do but I am sorry I don't remember the cost, I kinda recall it is best to have your card full.

speaking of pedicures and haircuts......i tried to paint my own toenails yesterday! I think I got more on my toe than the nail!:rotfl2: :rotfl2: Guess I'd better get a professional!!!

Also, after we got out of the pool today, I decided to trip my own hair while it was wet. There was just too much of it! I figured if I made a real botch of it, I'd have time to get to somebody to make it all better before the cruise! :hippie: :hippie: At least it's a little shorter.......

Hi all logging on from Pongo and Perdita's hotel at the movie resort! Zoe is in love with Perdita's house. The weather was outstanding today - mid 70's and no rain. 90 on Saturday everyone! Also, one heck of a storm off the coast right now, should be gone for our departure - hopefully. AK tomorrow and Boma. Had good flights -- anyone going out of the LAX Delta 11:10am flight there was a long line at the security. We had a stroller so they sent us up the elevator by passing the line. HINT: bring a stroller! Check your bags with the skycap, walk almost to the end of the building - might be the last escalator. Had a really great time at MGM today, mostly did shows. First time seeing Beauty and the Beast (outstanding!) and Ariel (very cute)

Happy travels Kelly:) So how many suitacases are you taking?!?;) :rotfl:
4!!! with the 2 extra small bags for the last minute pirate costume that went in. So, freakin 6 bags and then a trip to Walmart, so you were right. I have the same as everyone else. BUT, I'm telling you I'm dumping a lot before heading home.

YEAH!!! Passports are in hand! I am so happy that is over! We are sitting some traffic butt nothing as bad as it will be in another hour or two. YEAH!!! Thanks for all of the well wishes! They worked!

Thank God! I've been so worried about this.

my husband's passport just got here!!!

Ditto

See you soon, guys. Kelly

Had to have the A/C guy come out today. Our bonus room A/C kept shutting off......well! It was 3lb low on Freon! AND the compressor needs to be replaced! I guess that's a fact of life in Florida....A/C doesn't last over 7 years....it's been almost 7 years to the date since we moved in. I suppose everything will fall apart now!

Hi everyone!! I have been so busy getting ready for the cruise, that I haven't posted for awhile. And I still have a TON to do. My last day of work was today. I am so excited to have 3 weeks off! :woohoo:

Congrats to everyone on the passports. I was really worried for everyone still waiting.

NO WAY! REALLY??? Wireless from our stateroom?? GET OUT!! I would be thrilled if this was so! Would make things so much easier on me! Wooo hooo!

Okay, I will not be having as much fun as Kelly and family or Erik and family tomorrow, but I have to admit I get to have a pretty good day seeing as it is not yet vacation. The Girl Scouts are spending the morning at my house making tie dye T shirts and learning to do some knot tying. Then after lunch we are going to a weaving studio where they get to spend about an hour or so each on looms making sashes. Of course, doing all this (plus the usual afternoon classes) will make getting any prep work done nearly impossible. But it should keep my mind off of counting the hours (well, not really:rotfl2: )

Kelly, I cna't believe you had never seen Beauty or Ariel. Thanks for posting what you did so we can live vicariously through you.

BRACELET INFO!

I WILL BE HANDING OUT BRACELETS FOR ALL WHO SIGNED UP BY MAY 1 AND I MIGHT HAVE SOME EXTRAS TOO....

I WILL BE IN THE TERMINAL NEAR THE MICKEY EARS TO THE SHIP EARLY UNTIL I BOARD THEN WILL BE AT ALL DISMEETS THAT BOARDING DAY...PLEASE FIND ME FOR YOUR BRACELETS!!! ;) :thumbsup2

I am assuming we never signed up for these. You guys are all so awesome with everything you do for one another. :thumbsup2

4 bags at 35lbs with some giveaway stuff, that will lighten the load.

HOW DO YOU DO THAT???? :confused3 That is IMPOSSIBLE in this house! :rotfl:

Stepahnie, I think you probably did join on after the bracelet order went in, but i am not totally sure. I think Elizabeth held off as long as she could and still be sure to get them in on time. Maybe there will be extras.

I have 2 bags at 44 pounds each  a roller bag carry on and a laptop backpack. Some of the stuff in the 2 bags is not coming home with us, so the return will be ok :)

But, I did send stuff ahead of time to the ship :thumbsup2 We won't talk about how much those weighed :lmao:

Debbie

I wonder what kind of seas we are going to have because of it. I just realized that we are travelling in the path of where hurricanes begin; the west coast of Africa!!! Just one more thing to worry about...:headache:

Quit worrying...I rode the Magic thru Hurricane Hillary on the left coast and it was still ok. We were even outside that night and the next morning watching the storms!! If I lived in the midwest I would chase tornados.

Starting 5/12, wireless internet will be expanded on the Magic to be available in the staterooms

Also starting 5/12, cell phone service will be available when the ship is at least 2 miles out at sea!! Cingular, AT&T, Sprint & T-Mobile services will be available. They recommend that you contact your cell phone company and international rates may apply.

Dang, and just when I had decided I was not going to take my laptop with me...at least Verizon won't work...wrong kind of sim card!!

Yuck. i have had very little experience with ticks in spite of being quite "outdoorsy" and living in woods most of my life. I found one on Marika tow mornings ago and got it off and into a jar (just in case). TOnight, she ran over to the neighbor's to deliver soemthing and when she came in she said "yuck" a bug and brushed off her arm. Then she found another and I got over there before she brushed that off too and it was a tick. Got that off OUTSIDE and saw one on her pants (stripped her down on the deck and left all the clothes out there. I of course checked over both kids and spent forver going through their hair. We looked all over and cannot find the one she brushed off. So, I am hoping the one on her pants was the one form her arm? It is totally freaking me out that it could still be wandering around the house waiting to attach to one of us. I do not care how good the weather is, no one is going outside the rest of the week. Friday can't ge there soon enough.

You know, I think they make collars and dips for that now...popcorn:: :rolleyes1

See, the house is jealous that you are spending money on a cruise instead of it!!

Whole freaking state is on fire. I am currently surrounded by 3 brush fires. Sounds worse than it is, however, everything is smokey and ashy. Although I have to admit looking at the flames while we were driving home from In & Out for burgers was kind of neat. Of course my teen looked at me and said, "you know what this makes me think of?" I said "BBQ?" She rolled her eyes and went back her iPod. :lmao: :rotfl2:

Jennifer--Our first DCL was during a hurricane. Captain Tom steered around it so well we never felt a thing (but it did casue an itenerary change=no Castaway Cay:sad2: ) and there in lies my one and only weather fear: I do NOT want to miss Castaway a third time!

Laura--When social services rings my bell I'll be sure to let them know YOU told me to put flea collars on the kids:rotfl2:

So how are we doing on running up the post number for Pat anyway?

Oh, the house KNOWS it comes first! Had to replace the pool pump, the whole new filtration system, drain the pool, acid wash the whole thing. Put up hurricane shutters last year, new flooring, new paint, the list goes on and on and on and on and on....I need a VACATION!

Gosh, Laura, I hope you are not too close to the fires. There are several brush fires going around central Florida, too. But they seem to be mostly north of the city this time, instead of near us. ( we are on the south side of the city)

We've also booked the am Chocolate Museum tour -- and it is still showing on our reservation. How did you hear that it was canceled?
I got a call from Jason at DCL a couple of days ago - he said the provider backed out of the contract.

My housesitter called and said a package arrived at my house from Disney and wondered if I need it sent to me here at the resort before hte cruise. Erik

Erik - it is pretty heavy -cost DVC over 8 dollars to ship it - I would say you don't need it at this point. This way you have a suprise when you get home (the nice type!!!)

I am watching the news and cannot believe the "Terrorism Mickey" - truly breaking my heart. :sad2:
The terrorists in the middle east are trying to recruit childrenn for suicide bombings and terrorism so the recruiters brought a "mouse" to school that looked and talked like Mickey to tell them to go to war and kill themselves. It was awful!!! I am sure Disney is just upset about the whole thing. It was very sad. It wasn't "the" Mickey Mouse, but it was VERY close. Let me know if you see this.
Somehow I am not suprised by this - they have used our icons before - if not that group others. We are no longer living in a rose colored world :sad1:

Sorry to hear that - are you guys safe??? Be careful...please....

just a few personal updates.

I had to rush my favorite kitty to the Animal ED last evening - he is in renal failure - we were not sure he would survive the night. Well, the vet called this am -he is doing better but not out of the woods yet. I may have news just as we sail...I am worried, but not obsessed - my GF is not going on the 14 day - she is meeting us in Barcelona - so she will be here for Merlyn. He has lost so much weight - he was 18 pounds 2 yrs ago - now he is 6.4. His brother died suddenly and he just hasn't been the same.:sad1:

I had my last medical test today - all is well!!! My tummy should be able to handle all the foods I throw at it!! HHHOOOORRRRAAAYYYY!!

Tonight is the last night I will sleep at home. I work tomorrow night, then immediately off to EWR and WDW!!

DCL managed to cancel all our excursions - we have been on the phones all day yesterday and today trying to re-instate them all. Finally tonight at 9pm they got the last one re-instated. that ShoeBox issue is really starting to get my ire up....oooohhhhh they have just got me so _issed off......ugh.

enought - I won't be able to post until at the WDW I think....so - to everyone have good flights!!! See ya at OKW on Friday!!!!

No fires here---yet. They did change the danger level from "very high" to "extreme" this afternoon. I sure hope everyone is smart about not having campfires, cigarettes, etc.

Cayla, great news about the excursion being reinstated and even better about good results from your medical tests. However, very sorry to hear about your kitty. My thoughts are very much with you on that one. Have a great trip to WDW and we look forward to meeting you soon.
