Would love for her to meet my MIL also!!! This will be fun for them! :cool1:

That sounds great!

Ok off to bed so I can get up at 4AM to then drive through Riverside, Orange and LA counties of Monday morning traffic to make it to the passport office in time for our appointment! The best part is I have to take my 20 month old with us at that time. Maybe if she screams and yells they will process our stuff faster! I know why she has to be there with us, it makes total sense but I wish she did not have to come up there. I feel bad waking her up so early and probably spending the whole day up there too.

Well it is either that and she goes on the cruise or her and DH would have to stay home and miss sailing across the Atlantic, Disney style!

THE OFFICIAL DISBOARD SCRAPBOOK CLASS ON TAKING THE MAGIC TO THE MED!

I've had many PM me asking, and I have been putting it off, but promising I would do, so here is the info.

I usually teach a class (all skill levels invited) on the cruises I go on.
I bring all the supplies, and we put whatever I have come up with together during the class. It is held on a sea day. I haven't decided which day or time yet. Here's the deal:

What: Official Scrapbook Class

When: Sea Day about the Disney Magic

Where: either Promenade Lounge, Animator's Palatte or other location I can talk the ship in to letting me use.

What are we doing?: I am so excited. I have been able to score some 8 x 8 scrapbooks this time for a steal of a price. You can choose either a red cover or lime green. We will be doing approximately 14 pages and it will take about 1 1/2 hours - 2 hours to complete. It will be EASY! Don't let the project scare you away. If you have wanted to learn to scrapbook, this is the class for you.

Cost: $8.00 donation (In the past, I haven't charged for the class. But if you can help defray the costs of the scrapbook and the supplies, that would be great.)

How do I sign up? PM me with your info. Disboard name, stateroom number and your first name so I know who is coming. Also, tell me if you prefer the bright red scrapbook or the lime green.

Deadline: How about May 1st? I will need to ship all the stuff to the ship so I don't have to haul it all across the country.

Any questions, ask away!

Linda,
I am new to this web site. I had written last week regarding my daughter and I taking your class on Wed. Our names are Jo Ann and Allison Weaver cabin 6526. I don't know how to get the money to you, or if I can pay you at the class. Do you think you could e-mail me and let me know what to do or if we can even take the class at this point? btsurvivor@msn.com:confused3

Hi everyone...No I am not on this cruise with you but wanted to say "Have a fantastic time" :thumbsup2 We would have loved to do this cruise with all of you but did not want to pull my kids out of school or fly with them for 14 hrs :scared:

So we are going to Mexico instead (did Panama Canal in 2005) kids were in Elementary school then so pulled them out.

So for those of you like ken on the MR cruise, will see you there and also in 2011 for sure for DCL new ships Maiden Voyage:thumbsup2

Again have a fantastic time:dance3:

Well well well.....here I am....sitting in my bed at Animal Kingdom Londge at 1am and trying (in vain) to catch up on what seems like 614 pages of posts in the past 3 days!! :rotfl: :rotfl:

I'm not even going to BOTHER trying to remember all I just read...but here's a few things I remember thinking I should type or reply to:

1.) Kelly---I've had in room internet (at a per day charge) in both Pop Century Friday and Saturday and now in the Animal Kingdom Lodge. I can't remember....what resort are you staying at? Did you call to make sure they haven't installed internet there? If all else fails....I happen to have noticed that the TGI Friday's restaurant in the Crossroads Mall (a few blocks from Downtown Disney) has free wireless....so go over there for lunch one day and log on fast! hehehe

2.) Ken....congrats to your son!

3.) I'm bummed that we never got our magnets AND now we've missed a DVC present apparently...BAH!! Oh well.

4.) :dance3: :dance3: :dance3: That's us doing the Docs dance because we got our docs today at the DCL counter here at the resort....although I must confess the 2 ladies working were a bit...uninformed. They didn't seem to really have a clue what was going on to help us iron out the details and they kept having to call some other office or desk for information. But I think we got it all ironed out.

5.) Never fear folks....I will have internet here obviously and the location/directions for the Wine and Cheese Party will be up on the site by late on the 10th. My parents and I are having dinner at Fulton's Crab House that night at 7pm and then seeing Cirque Du Soliel...but if I can't post it before that then I'll post it right after when we get back to the resort.

So...otherwise, of course, WDW rocks! It's been VERY hot (in our opinion) here and the crowds are busier than we expected....but we're hoping for it to thin out a bit when the weekend is over. We LOVE the Animal Kingdom Lodge...LOVE LOVE LOVE:love: :cloud9: It's so amazing!! We haven't gotten any of the million dreams goodies but we're not giving up hope...we've still got a week! :)

later!
:tigger:

To the person who wasn't going to send the medical form in bc it is w/in 14 days of the trip... SEND IT IN NOW ANYWAY!!! It is better to give them some notice than no notice. They are very good about dealing with food allergies and special requests, but you want to be on the official list of people needing assistance. I'm sure DCL will appreciate having some advance notice, even if it's not the full 14 days, and that it will make things easier for you once you're on board. There is a fax # on the med form. That is one of the many nice things about WDW/DCL: they are very good about food issues like this. If you can do trace amts (i.e., do not need wholly separate prep areas excluding peanuts) you can do buffets or counterservice and if you ask, someone will come out and tell you if your ingredient is in anything (buffets) or provide an ingredient list (counterservice). But they do also provide totally separate prep.

 C.

Thanks for the advice, I will send it in right away. He is OK with trace amounts. So we should be OK at the buffet with a little guidance.

Since I am relatively new I thought I would throw out a couple of questions. I am currently booked at the Cypress Hyatt, nice pool, coming in on the 10th. Should I consider the airport Hyatt? I have Hyatt points so it is not a problem to switch if they are not too booked.

Is there an itenarary for what is happening on what night? I see the info about pirate night and the semi-formal and formal night but is there anything else I should let my DW know about while she is out rampaging the malls.

We plan on taking a rental car from the MCO and dropping it in Port Canaveral (Avis). I was planning on droppping the family off at returning. We were thinking around 9:30. Does that make sense?

We have a cat12 grt and were wondering when they will give us any upgrade if they can. Will it be at the terminal? If it is, is it on a first come, first serve basis?

Online it looks like Palo's is booked every night. Is it possible to book any nights when we get on the ship?

Here's the big one. My son has a very serious peanut allergy. I went online to fill out the medical report but it says I need to send it in 14 days in advance. We'll have the form with us completed. I made a note of it on the camp registration form and we will speak with chef and waiter when we go to the restaurant. Any other suggestions?

On another note...
OMG, I can't beleive we are going, my head is spinning. I have the week off so my DW can pull it all together for the family.

My 2 sons also have life-threatening peanut and tree nut alleries. DCL is great with the boys allergies. This is the main reason we have traveled DCL so many times!! :cloud9:

You will want to turn in a medical form ASAP. I know we have faxed it in before. You want DCL to be as prepared as possible for your son.

The kids group is very knowledgeable about the allergy. We alway leave an epi-pen and benedryl with our sons when they are in the kids clubs. On the first day ask if there are any activities your son should not attend because of his allergy. I know that there is a cookie making activity that is not safe.

At dinner on the first night, tell your server and head server about the peanut allergy. They should already have been informed, but double check.

On every DCL cruise we have been on, the Head Server has had a 3 ring binder, that has a list of all the ingredients for everything on the ship!! You can ask to see it or ask about a certain item.

I hope this make sense. It is getting late and I am headed to bed. But, I really wanted to responded to your question. If you need any more info, just let me know.

We are also staying at the Hyatt (airport) the night before. If you decide to switch the the same one, let us know. :thumbsup2 There are a few of us getting together at the pool on Friday night.

To all of the people staying at the Hyatt the night before!!

I know that we have been planning a small meet and greet at the pool after dinner. Does anyone know if a time has been decided on?

I think my mom has given up on reading the board (she is still working on her internet skills), so I can say... please do say hello to us/her, whether in the terminal ,the sailaway, or whatever! This is her first trip since we lost my dad. Only a few more days! We (my dh and I) are totally excited, but at this point, it seems like she's got a bit of mixed feelings, which is understandable. So do look out for her!

 C.

Not a problem, will do...

Good morning all. I am just about to head down to Manchester for Girl Scout stuff. I hope today will be the last time I go into a store before Friday!

Someone asked why we are picking up liquor in Florida instead of at home. For us it just means less chance of something breaking in our bag and ruining everything. We had a VERY well wrapped and secured of coconut rum broken in our bag on a trip home last year. It was such a mess. I never could get the smell out of the bag. We also don't bring much on board (we'll buy a bottle of wine for the OKW party plus maybe one or two plastic bottles with rum and another mixer to carry on board). Since it isn't much Dave will just slip it into his carry-on to insure nothing can break.

Happy packing to all.

We will be packing a couple of drams of spirits with us....and will have it packed in our hard sided bags to defeat the samsonite gorillas. Will make the purchase in FL so we won't have to fly with the bottles in our bags.

OK, this is funny. I rarely get to tell people this, but a very good comedian/friend who used to work for me at my comedy club is the samsonite gorilla! :lmao:

Hello, to all the lurkers from other cruises and thanks for all the warm wishes.

Thanks for the internet heads up Erik.

We're leaving this morning. After 13 months of checking off days on my countdown calendar - it's finally here!

See you guys this week. :yay:

You know I will cupcake, and my MIL is shy, but anxious to meet her. She will loosen up with time and I know your mom will have a blast! This is my dad's first trip without my mom and his pain-in-the-neck ex-wife. I am being nice!:)

Please don't hold back and tell us what you really think!! :lmao:

That is just sucky! Hopefully they will let you get you out of there quickly. For those of you who don't know, it is about a two hour drive without traffice and with traffic can quickly stretch to 4 or 6 if there are traffic accidents!

To all of the people staying at the Hyatt the night before!!

Think we were shooting for 7-730pm-ish. Then there is the collecting of the lanyards at 9pm in the lobby. That will be a sight, whole bunch of disboarders in their swimsuits, possibly wet, trapsing through the hotel lobby to get lanyards from a man handing them out of a suitcase. If that doesn't make an episode of COPS, I don't know what will!!! Or maybe that is more of a RENO 911 type of episode....hmmmpopcorn:: :rolleyes1

Do you want to be included on the lanyard list? Let me know ASAP.

I think it's OK as long as no money changes hands. :rotfl2:

Ken

Never having cruised before with such an organized group, I have a couple of questions.

We will be bringing a small gift for the kids. Do I need to print off the roster list before we leave so I have cabins numbers and names, or will that info be included in the "Mini Navigator" that I have seen mentioned in these postings?

Everyone's staterooms will be in the mini navigator! (except for last minute changes)

Back from a whirlwind weekend at DL.

Met up with Scott on Friday, Tony and Adrienne and Ken and Shari on Saturday and Susie on Sunday!

My DD and her girlfriend went on Tower of Terror 13 times this weekend. They did 10 in a row yesterday morning. Took a picture of them after every round.

THey also did Calif. Screamin' 10 times.

I took pictures and met up with everyone!

Okay, now back to serious business. I will pick up my 9 PM's in just a minute.

MINI-NAVIGATOR DEADLINE! TODAY 5 PM MOUNTAIN STANDARD TIME.

Please PM me TODAY if you need anything included.

What morning are we convening for pajama breakfast in Lumiere's? Any one have a certain sea day in mind?

I will make arrangements with the dining room staff to let them know we have a group coming to breakfast in our jammies.

WE HAVE ANOTHER NEW CRUISER!

Any guesses? I put some "peer" pressure this weekend at DL on them, and although he can't go, she booked yesterday and is joining our group!

Back from shopping and procrastinating on that cleaning hting for a moment.

Marika found her sunglasses adn paint set this morning. She had already packed them in her backpack and then forgotten about it:lmao: :lmao: Still have no idea where she hides bathing suit tops.

OMG are you serious baout a PJ breakfast?!?! This sounds possibly quite fun. I had not packed PJs suitable to be seen in public. I may have to add something. Please let me know if you are serious (or am I just totally gullible?).
