Our walkers are half done with the Marathon. It sounds like they are all doing well and determined to finish.

Update: at 11:12am Orlando time, they crossed the 20 mile mark. Shari is still doing well, but the heat is starting to get to her.

I checked the Port of Los Angeles website myself. The Board Agenda listed the action item to grant the permit. The actual minutes are not posted yet, so I didn't find the outcome. Although another post talked about the item being pulled for additional contract talks. I didn't see that information.

There is one sentence that says the cruiseline will be making 7 day cruises to Mexico.

Interesting stuff.

Ken

Now you're just teasing me!!!!!!

Welcome back to the boards Lynn. Scott has been saying really wonderful things about you and how hard you've been working to pull it all together! Can't wait to meet you guys in real life!!

I've got a waitlist request in with DCL through my TA for summer 2008. I'll probably book 26 July or 2 August 2008 if indeed they do cruise to Mexico out of LA next year. I enjoyed our 2005 cruise however I prefer the Caribbean. The water is warmer and there is Castaway Cay.

Wrong direction. Check the August repo. We bought r/t tickets from BCN to SAN and we're throwing away the return portion. It was much cheaper than one way.

Hey, Kathy, I was wondering if anyone else did that... Do you call it in that you are cancelling or just not show up??? Have you ever done that in our post 9/11 world of flying? very curious

Hi Kelly,

I guess it really doesn't matter if you call to cancel or just don't bother showing up for the return portion of the trip. Just make sure you book BCN to LAX r/t...not the other way around and book a return date with the lowest possible since any date will do.

Are you going to do the repo in May 2008? I'd love to do one of the repos but I don't think either will work with our schedules.

The Goofy walkers are done. They just finished.

Alex and Carolyn finished the marathon in 6 hours, 40 minutes
Shari just finished in 6 hours, 47 minutes

They are just now getting their Goofy medals.

Ken

Go Goofy!

Yes, I think we'll do the repo in May 2008 (if it is really coming) DH is pretty set on it and it sounds like it was terrific!

Congratulations to all of the marathoners! What an accomplishment!

Go Patriots!! (I'm originally from New England...Barrington, RI to be exact.)

Well, I got a little curious about the ports and checked the Los Angeles and yes, it looks like they were awarded the berths 91-93 from 5/1/08 - 9/15/08, for 7 night trips to Mexico. So, I looked at Hawaii, Mexico, Alaska and the Panama Canal but couldn't find any further information. So, unless they are looking at various places to dock, it looks like its going to be Mexico again. I don't think there is any other way to get here unless they are going to go all the way around South America. :cool1:

Am looking forward to the repo cruise to Barcelona. Veteran of Panama Canal and Wonder Barbados cruises. Want to get in the loop so I will hopefully receive one of the cool lanyards that always turn up for these inaugural cruises.

Welcome beachtogo, Debbie (Epcotfilterfan) can tell you where to email her with your info.

Well, I just discovered that there are entire threads chatting about the PC and west coast cruises for 2008 today. :rotfl:

Does anyone have a hotel recommendation for Paris? Not too expensive, not too far away from the airport or with a shuttle, not too far from the Eiffel Tower? Anyone ever been to the Poilon bakery?

AWWWWW!! :sad2:

As if I wasn't jealous enough about the Back2Back cruise....but the B2B Tshirt is awesome! :)

I can't believe y'all are already planning next year's repo when we haven't even done THIS one yet!

If it is only going to do Mexico then I doubt we'll cruise in 2008. The repo would be cool but I don't know that we'll have the money or the time to do another long cruise like that....and I'd rather do a cruise to Hawaii and/or Alaska than to Mexico. In fact we may take a break from Disney altogether in 2008 except for maybe one quick weekender or something.....we need to save up some points because my parents' 40th wedding anniversary is in 2009 and they would like my entire family to do a trip to Orlando together...so we were going to save up the points needed to get a grand villa for a week on DVC points.
