Welcome beach2go!
Did you do the Disney canal cruise? If so which one?

Yes, go Pats. But then I like the Saints also.

Congratulations to the Marathoners.:thumbsup2
Quite an accomplishment.

Just wonder how long it will take Disney to clampdown on the back to back shirts. Yes they are neat, but I am afraid that the design will be short lived also.

HI everyone

Milestogo last time we went through Paris we stayed at the courtyard marriott. it is decent (4*) but not fancy. it is an a village near the airport with a shuttle to the airport.
from the airport you catch the train into Paris city center and thus the Eiffle tower. this is alot cheaper than staying in Paris itself.
the bus to DLP also goes from the airport.

hope this helps

:)michelle

Michelle, is spot on. The train is easy and we have stayed at the Holiday Inn at CDG. Actually will be there in less than a month. Use the hotel shuttle to get to the airport adn take the train from there.

I bet it will be fine.....if you look at the Back 2 Back logo it doesn't have the word "Disney" on it anywhere....which I think the old logo did for the repo. I bet it was the word disney that first sent up the red flag and then they noticed the font, etc. This design might fly under the radar! :)

Thanks about the Paris clues. That is exactly what we will do! I appreciate it. I assume that the language isn't too difficult a barrier with taking the train if we read up on it before going.

I've been telling Erik for months to come on the 11 night, but he keeps using his job as an excuse!:confused3 Too bad you actually like your job!!!

I've been getting requests for spring of 2008 for months and I've been holding them off until I had an idea of where the boat was going. We really wanted to go to Hawaii, but I wanted to go to the caribbean and southern Mexico. DH wanted to go to Panama Canal crossing last year. Since the boat comes up through the Mexican Riveria, we'll do the PC and head back to work before anyone knows where we disappeared to.

Ken, how was your volleyball game in that wind. Man that was brutal in SB.

Scott & Lynn, I can't wait to hear about Tanzania. How long will you be gone? and where else are you going? If you see Oprah somewhere on the continent say hi for me.

Continental to LAX $174
Total $696

Thoughts?

I will ask my co-worker who flys home to India every other year. Perhaps he cam fill me in. I'll let you know. That price sounds too good to be true! Keep your fingers crossed!

UPDATE: I asked my co-worker this morning about Air India. He flys it all the time when he goes home to visit his parents. He said it's a regular airline and has not had any problems. He also said it's usually one of the more expensive ones. When I told him about the price to fly to Newark he was surprised and said that was a good price... So... good luck with the fare! It sounds great!

I was talking to my TA and she told me that she had found out that I am getting my tips paid for the cruise!:yay: :yay: :yay: :yay:

Anyone know how much that involves so that I will know how much more to tip?

I had booked onboard for April '07 and later transferred to this cruise. I know what we are supposed to pay but what I don't know is if DCL will pay the full amount or will they short the CMs. I guess I will have to wait until we sail to find out unless someone else got the free tips.

gydell, I don't know if this helps, but we budgeted about $500 per cruise, does this sound right to everyone else?

I just spent about an hour on the phone with DVC trying to switch my reservation from dvc to cash and cash to dvc... what a hassle! After an hour they kept telling me that there was not a monetary difference to switch the reservations. I told her that the kids rate had dropped by $1200 and she was baffled. I hung up without changing the reservation and resolved to call back tomorrow after checking my notes again. :confused3 :headache:

MIlestogo- Somehow and I really don't understand it but....when we changed our cruise date, one of the perks that we did not know about was that DCL would pay all of our tips. What I am trying to find out is if they pay the suggested amount or do you think that they will pay less to the CMs?

That's what I am hoping! It'll save us some money even though we will tip the CMs more.

Hi Everyone

Shari got home today from the marathon weekend. She not even very sore after 39 miles. Tough girl.

gydell - did you get me e-mail from the other day?

Ken

Ken - Yes I got your e-mail and thank you for caring about others.

Did anyone see the other board where they said that Chase will be charging a 3% fee for using the Visa in Europe. I will have to check AX because I don't want to pay a fee.

Is that fee just for exchange? Most credit card companies charge the going exchange rate plus approx 2.5%.

In the post they say that everytime you use your Disney Visa in Europe that Chase will charge you a 3% fee. Sounds weird to me.

Actually that raises an interesting question.....are Visa and/or Mastercard pretty generally widely accepted throughout Europe? Obviously Jason and I will "buy" a small stash of Euros to use for small purchases....but rather than carry large sums of foreign currency around, we'd obviously rather use charge cards.....that's feasible, right?

By the way...I got my email confirming that our shirts were shipped! :)
