Hey Debbie... can we only vote once a day???

He was really up there for a while. I've voted twice, but I'm locked out from voting more times!

Q - Does anyone have a TA booking flights. ANy news on if DCL will do aocharter from europe back home?

Debbie, we want to do DLP too. Did I read right? Are you flying from Madrid to Paris? Thanks! :thumbsup2

:thanks:

If you clear your cookies you can vote again...and again... :rolleyes1 :surfweb: I watched the votes for Garrett last night climb and climb....

I have to find a flight from Barcelona to Paris. I already have my Paris to home flight booked. Will only have a short time at DLP but it is better than nothing. I am hoping that DCL will do a package to DLP, then I do not have to worry about it.

:thanks:

Is DCL doing a charter plane/jet back a possibility? Have they done that sort of thing in the past? And if so how does it compare costwise to booking a flight otherewise? I'd probably be really annoyed if we shell out a couple of thousand bucks on non-refundable airfare home on an inconvenient flight with a company we don't know if later on DCL decided to offer a better option.....hmmmmm.....and yet my paranoia about rising airfare costs, etc. really is telling me that I want that flight booked and paid for soon so there are no surprises later on.......well as ursula, the sea witch , said "Life's fulla tough choices, iddnit?" hehehe

:tigger:

I think DCL chartering a plane is a FANTASTIC idea! We were gonna book our airfare through disney because we trust them. I know its more but its piece of mind knowing that if we have a problem we go straight to DCL. I would be game for a DCL private charter. Heck, why don't they offer up their private jet for us "elite" sailors. I think that would be the ultimate vacation. We would get our kids shirts made that said "My dad went on a 14-day DCL mediterannean cruise and flew back on disney's private plane and all I got was this stinkin' T-shirt" :lmao: Seriously, I am also afraid of rising prices of plane tickets. Would that deter anyone else from going? They would have to go SKY HIGH for us to cancel, unless something else unforseen happens...

We have a couple of options-no one flies direct to Toronto.
So far the cheapest is Air France with stop in Paris. Next is KLM with stop in Amsterdam.

Haven't decided whether to spend time in Europe afterwards.

Anyone know what the cost to change your ticket might be if you book to leave same day then decide to rebook and stay a few days?

Another question- what do you think? If we have to leave the ship by 9:00am on May 26th-how far is the airport-when would you book your earliest flight out of Barcelona?

I seem to recall that the airport is kinda close to the port. Just to be on the safe side I looked for flights after 12:00 noon.

Thanks for the great information-you guys are the best!

I'd be safe with a 1:00pm flight out then?

Any idea - since we bought the bus transfers - how Disney is going to do this?

We bought the bus transfers, too. We were told that the bus will take us to the airport as soon as we disembark and get through any customs necessary.....our TA through mousearsvacations.com said they're recommending no flights before noon just to be on the safe side.

I think our transfers from MCO-PORT and PORT-BCN were $50 per person?

Can anyone confirm? It's not broken out on my reservation.

Thanks, Seems pricey, may just do a Cab from Port to BCN. Will do more research.

According to the future cruise rep on the cruise we just went on "they are working on a package deal including transportation to and stays at DisneyLand Paris." Whether or not anything will actually develop or what the cost might be, I guess we can only wait and see.

Hi All,

Well, we got to use our DVC points for the first time at DL hotel this weekend. We had some extra points that were given to us as a surprise, but had to be used by 8/1. Since we live minutes away it isn't something we would normally do, so got up early Sunday to get in line for the AP Mickey Pirate pin (very cute pin.) We checked in and spent the day at the pool playing and eating, then went to dinner at Hook's Point and to the parks for the night (after it cooled down) for the electric parade, fireworks and rides. Got up early for the early morning entrance to DL for their 51st birthday celebration. Last year we were on the West Coast Cruise for the 50th. It was lots of fun, but the most exciting thing was when they said, "Welcome Home!"

Just spoke to DCL and they are now saying that they aren't expecting the excursions to be announced until the beginning of the year. And that they thought that there haven't been many requests for DLP. I told him that there are plenty of people waiting for information!!!

that's correct the transfers are $50/person....and that includes transportation from Orlando airport to the Port and then from the ship to Barcelona airport.

I checked with my TA regarding an 11:10am departure from BCN and he verified with DCL that it would be OK. We're flying Continental to San Diego on 6 June. I'm booking a r/t and throwing away the return. It'll cost us $3017.96 for 2 adults and 2 children at 75% of the adult fare. We'll fly Southwest from Norfolk to Orlando on 12 May. I'm wondering if we're getting a good price on the Continental flight...should we book now or wait a while. I have to ticket our reservation by midnight on the 22nd.

What a fun way to use your first DVC points and celebrate DL's birthday!

Anyone done any more research into possible excursions for our repo cruise? I am thinking that doing gibraltar (apes, cave) on our own would be very doable and maybe a beach day at Tenerife (don't ya just love saying you are going to the "canariy islands"?), but not sure what to do in Cadiz. It looks to have good beaches, but the old town also looks interesting. If DD10 were going on this trip with us, then the horse thing would be a required visit :rotfl2:

I got the coconut mailer from DCL yesterday about the med cruises and September 10/11 day cruises. I would LOVE to do one of those September cruises ... (to DH, yes, dear, I know we are not doing one of those cruises, and yes, dear, I know I am not going on a cruise without you ... )

This seems to be a good price, and with the price of fuel not looking to do anything but go up, I wouldn't expect airfares to be going down.

The Continental flight times/connections are awesome, by the way.

CACruisin: Yes, I got my flier too about the September cruises. Man was it hard to put it in the file :sad2:
Finishing swim lessons this week, will PM you about Sea World next week.

We're planning on the Sherry and Horse tour in Jerez. I saw the dancing horses on a travel channel show and they were very good. We will be in port on a show day. Here is a link to one of the tours. I suspect Disney will offer something similar:
