HEY LINDA!!!!! Is Ducky on Board with us????

Hope there is a DVC meet, I am up for some KEWL freebies from DVC. I should have gotten a commission for the 11 night cruise as I know several folks who bought after taking to us. I am sure we were not the main reason, but the OKW meet was like an open house. LOL

When I talked to Ducky he said he wasn't sure if he could do the 14 night. I said he could either go for 6 days at sea and then get off at our first port, or get on there and stay the last part. He said he would have to look at that.
I will be at WDW this coming weekend (Sun., Mon.) after we get off the Wonder, so I will check and see what I can find out. Maybe I should just go pay a personal visit to our friend Tom! :rotfl: Maybe if I take some Girl Scout cookies, I could get past the receptionist desk! :rotfl:

Agree with you on the DVC points from the 11 day. Our stateroom was right outside the DVC "office" and while people waited to go in we "sold" them before they even had to talk to them. The last night Mike gave us a ton of DVC stuff free that they had left over since we helped them and of course, like you, we can't get anything sent to us in Utah for referrals.

Hopefully, they will have some pretty KEWL freebies on the EB.

Is anyone taking fish extenders on this cruise? Debating whether I need to make another one as I have 2 but our party has 3 rooms.

Also anyone any idea whether Disney will be showing Pirates of the Caribbean 3 on the boat? It premiers in the US and Europe while we're on there!
Happy April Fools DAY!!

1. I make my door decs with pics I find on the web or family pics. I use magnetic paper for the printer and I also use photo paper with magnets stuck on the back. We got a really cool gift last Oct. on DVC cruise. Magnetic signs with a pen to write notes on. We are bringing that.

2. I am bringing my fish extender. I have not even tried to make a new one yet. I want Disney pics on the pockets, but I haven't found what i want yet. I am thinking of ironing on some designs, but there's only a little over a month left! Too much to do!

im already booked for a cat 8 on the repo and a cat 8 on the 1st med.
Im thinking of taking my chances like some of you did and just getting a cat 12 gty for the 3 of us on the repo thereby saving a bunch of money and hoping for an upgrade (cat 9 would be fine), if it works great, if not, then use the saved money to upgrade at the pier. thoughts? those of you with 3 people on gty's what kind of rooms have you been assigned. also.
Ive never done a back to back, how much of a pain is it to change rooms on a b2b, I know some of you have and are planning on doing it. help. this has kept me up all last night!!!

We are on the b2b and got the 2580 room for the repo - Does anyone know if this is a window room? We are in 7065 on the 11 night - we have know idea what to expect and are ready for anything. supposedly if you get the same room for both cruises you don't have to change anything and can stay on the ship. Others have said you can leave and they'll move your bags directly to the next room.

On the Mexico cruise last year we got a beautiful blanket, what other gifts have you guys gotten.

When I posted about the shows coming to LA I thought I had posted the HSM on ice... I'm thinking I meant to, but didn't sorry :rolleyes1

Maybe I missed it before, but does someone have a pattern for a fish extender. I thought someone said they pick one up at the dollar store. It sounds like something fun I'd like to have for our cabin.

Also, it's been years since we last cruised and I don't think I even went into the health club on the ship last time. Does anyone know what's in the health club? What type of equipment, do they have free weights?

Thanks for your help!

Lori

Yes there is a health club and they do have free weights, running machines etc. I haven't been in the one on the Magic since they extended it so not sure what other stuff they have in it.

Not sure about the fish extenders because ours was made for us. I am going to attempt to make one next weekend so if I work out how to do it I'll let you know

2580 is a porthole room looking at the deck plans.

Thanks, I wasn't really too sure. And it is a possibility that they will have no cash upgrades at the port like the Sept cruise.

I haven't seen a pattern for a fish extender, but I have heard some people have seen them at the dollar store. I don't know if they have a Disney theme or not. They are really used for a baby's room for all their changing stuff, or for an office for bits and pieces. Another person said she bought a cheap hanging shoe organizer, and then made the pockets smaller by cutting it in half; THis idea sounds easier than starting from scratch.

I am planning to go to Joanne's today, I imagine they have a pattern for such a thing in the Simplicity or McCall's books.

THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!!

My daughter Jamie and I went on a shopping spree yesterday and bought new clothes, shoes, and stuff for the cruise. Bought a lot of lightweight stuff that will pack easily and not wrinkle.

Then we went to go see Meet the Robinsons! It was great. Loved the 3D glasses. They showed the new trailer for The Nightmare Before Christmas in 3D which will come out this fall. The trailer was great with the 3D glasses on.

The end of the movie got me a little teary eyed. Had a famous quote by Walt Disney which was pretty KEWL as Scott would say.

Okay, got to get my Sunday stuff done! I'm cruising on the Wonder this Thursday. :hippie:

Just talked to my husband and he said they have free weights on the Magic. He works out while I lay on my butt by the pool - what does that tell ya! For my door signs, I premade scrapbook pages! I am a scrapaholic so I have lots of pages done and just waiting for the pictures. I also had a scrapbook custom made for this cruise!:)

Thank for the info on the health club! I've decided that in order not to weigh a ton when I get off the ship in Barcelna I'll have to put in a little work!

I need to get to Joann's, too. I like to have Disney vests for one of the semi-formal nights. And the ones I made for the last trip don't fit any of us anymore.

Since DD is not coming, I only have to make 4 which helps some.

Have a great day!

Lori

I got my shirts, I got my shirts

I am way more excited about the countdown to the cruises than the countdown my friends and family have about me turning 31!!! :rotfl:

Anyways, just wanted to check in and see what was going on!

2580 is a deluxe (split bath) ocean view stateroom. And it is the kind with the BIG window, not the two little windows. It is the same thing we got upgraded to. We have stayed in this Cat before and enjoyed it. As for upgrading at the port, I hope we can, but if we can't we got the minimum that we wanted to pay to upgrade to anyway, so it is all good!!:thumbsup2

This is just for fun! Please answer the questions based on any or all of the Disney cruises you've sailed.

1. Which restaurant is your favorite? Why? Lumiere's. Fried Camembert cheese and Creme Brulee!
2. Which dessert is your favorite? Creme Brulee with vanilla ice cream on top!

3. What's your favorite onboard activity? Till we meet again photo op's.

4. What's your favorite port? (not Castaway Cay!;) ) So far, nothing, but soon I will say Rome!
5. What's been your favorite excursion? Shopping for knock-off purses in Nassau.
6. What is the BEST thing about Castaway Cay? If you're patient, free floats and tubes.
7. What category room did you stay in? Would you stay in this category again? Cat's. 9 and 6. I love cat 9's AFT.

8. Have you ever been upgraded? Yes, twice! both from Cat. 12's to Cat's 9!!!
9. What's your favorite live show onboard? Disney Dreams10. What's the absolute BEST thing about a DISNEY cruise? Something that makes DISNEY stand out from the rest, even if you have nothing to compare it to!

If I'm not mistaken, any room that ends in an even number is at least an oceanview room. If it's odd, it is an inside room.

Yep that's right! Didn't actually work that out until just now where I went through the deck plans.

There are a few rooms that are even numbered but NOT ocean view. They are actaully cat. 11s on the outside with no portal. I know because that is what we've ended up with (6002 and 6004). The others are 6502 and 6504. They are listed in the Passporter. Other than those four rooms the even#/odd# thing works.
