I'm hurt, I don't want to see this celebration. my boys are trying to avoid tears.

The sun was shining, the breeze was calm, the temperature was warm.....a beautiful day for an auction.
I left the house and went to mom's 15 minutes before the start. The sun went away, the wind kicked up, it was cold.....we held the auction inside. The house sold for $144.....I'm grateful for the sale....but just about break even.....no profit to be made. How sad for such a grand home. I saw all the people bidding on it in mom's dining room and remembered all the times in her kitchen.....it was hard to see strangers standing there bidding on it. Now, we put it behind us and move forward onto a Wonderful vacation.
Brother hen already left for the hotel. I probably won't see him for a very long time. I'm sure he'll call all the time though. I told him to let me know as soon as he gets a ship. I'd like to know where he is in the world.
The sun is shining once again, the breeze is calm and the temperature is warm......could mom have been upset about selling her home at auction, since the weather changed exactly at 2pm and was sunny by 3pm when the auction ended!?!

Given the 50-50 chance of it selling at all.....I guess we did ok.....we were on the upside of the odds. It was very hard to be there. I declined to go to the closing. I said I'm finished. The lawyer will handle it without me and I trust her 100%
Now it's time to make up for lost time.....lucky to have a fun vacation in five days and then when we get back, we only have two weeks until Turkey day with the relatives and more DISmeets! All good things. I'm very thankful!

So after church we headed out of town, had lunch with my mom and my aunt, then went to the zoo. I had forgotten that the only thing going on is the Zoo Boo. Our local zoo doesn't do that until next week, so I just didn't even think the zoo we went to would be doing it already. SO, we get there completely unprepared and are an hour away from home, so we couldn't just run home for Tyler's costume. We ran to a Goodwill store down the road and lucked out, finding a hockey jersey with a skeleton on it, and a very used hockey helmet, and Tyler was thrilled. He told me, "It's OK mom that I don't have my pirate costume because I can still use that for the Halloween party at school and trick or treating at my dad's." I'm so lucky he's such a good sport! So for $3.85, we had a makeshift costume that made him happy.
