we just had a call reversed when the guys knee was not down before the ball came out, and now Woodson had all day to throw.

The sun was shining, the breeze was calm, the temperature was warm.....a beautiful day for an auction.

I left the house and went to mom's 15 minutes before the start. The sun went away, the wind kicked up, it was cold.....we held the auction inside. The house sold for $144.....I'm grateful for the sale....but just about break even.....no profit to be made. How sad for such a grand home. I saw all the people bidding on it in mom's dining room and remembered all the times in her kitchen.....it was hard to see strangers standing there bidding on it. Now, we put it behind us and move forward onto a Wonderful vacation.

Brother hen already left for the hotel. I probably won't see him for a very long time. I'm sure he'll call all the time though. I told him to let me know as soon as he gets a ship. I'd like to know where he is in the world.

The sun is shining once again, the breeze is calm and the temperature is warm......could mom have been upset about selling her home at auction, since the weather changed exactly at 2pm and was sunny by 3pm when the auction ended!?!

:goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

I'm sorry there wasn't a lot of profit, but glad it is now sold so you can close this chapter. I know it must be very tough. Lisa

Goodnight all. It's a busy weekend with a Church conference. Pricing up books most of yesterday, on the bookstall last night, home after midnight, bad night's sleep and then away again at 8.15am to begin again!!! Finishes tomorrow lunchtime(ish!!!), so relax time then.

Deb, so glad the house got sold today. I believe the market is not doing as well these days, so to actually sell is a good thing.

You can turn your mind to your vacation now!!!

Good luck today Deb! I hope the house sells at a good price.:wizard:

Thanks Ginamarie and everyone else who wished us good luck and pixie dust.....it did sell and that's a good thing and we are very thankful.

Vacation is so close Deb!! Sorry you're going to miss out on the pool/hot tub, but at least you'll be in WDW! Will I be seeing you in Epcot on Friday??

We will be at Epcot on Friday Nov 2nd during the day, then doing the MNSSHP that night with the grands. What Friday will you be there? If it's the same day....let's meet! The fountain cafe works for me.....John and I usually hit it first thing when we get to the park when it opens in the morning. It will be easy enough to find each other there......we'll be wearing DISgreen tee shirts! It's just you and Olivia, right? I'll be looking for you!

Well, DBro is off of the Magic. He just called from the airport as he's getting an earlier flight. So I have to pick him up from the airport in a few hours. Funny story though-- they were at Castaway Cay yesterday, snorkeling out by the submarine/sunkin ship, and a big storm rolled in. DBro couldn't swim back to the shore, so they sent out the lifegaurds for him!! I guess he'll never forget that about his honeymoon!

HA HA HA What a great memory and story to tell.....I'd be interested to see how it embelishes over the years.......!!!!

A HS student died In Roanoke VA. I think I am most concerned about Daniel....living in a dorm and all.

This is very scary, especially for Daniel's environment!

If you could see where he lives...it is so GROSS!! He applied to a dorm that was co-ed, but got assigned to an all male dorm. It really SMELLS like an all boy dorm. There are kids everywhere.....everywhere!! And they all shower together.....just ripe for a problem like this one.

We are looking inot buying a condo in Blacksburg. Both of my girls want to go to VA Tech and condos are pretty cheap. My best friend (Daniel's best friend's mom) and I are thinking of doing this together. The one we are looking at is brand new, 3 bedroom 3 bath......$160,000. If we rent the one room out, it is cheaper than dorm life....and much safer.

This is such a great idea!

I wish I had a cruise between now and May....I need some sea days!

That's exactly the reason why I'm on a 4 night and not three....we wanted to keep it short with the whole family going and we wanted to do Atlantis.....but I wouldn't give up that day at sea!

It helped.....it sold! Thank you![/COLOR]

Is the water seawater on the cruise? I thought seawater was good for wounds? DH and I got in a nasty little spill in Greece one time prior to a cruise. The doctor told us to soak our road rash in the salt water pool for about 15 minutes every 4 hours. Luckily, the water was so cold on the Princess Island ship no one else was swimming or else I imagine we would have grossed some people out! But your wounds are much different, so whatever the doctor said. I just recalled something about salt water being good for you.

The saltwater is the best thing....but I can only do that on a beach, not in the pool with all those other people around so close.....probably not good. Plus I have to keep them out of the sun! And then there's the chemicals, like in the hot tub.....no good......so that probably means I can do excursions, but no swimming on the boat. But you are right that saltwater is the best healing thing for them. A day in the ocean and I should be all cleaned up.

Wish me luck please and send all the strength you can. I sent Tyler's dad a reminder about the appointment coming up on Tuesday for the him, me, and Tyler's stepmom and then the full day for just Tyler the following Tuesday for his day of testing. I never heard any final resolution from him, so I figured if I e-mailed him a reminder about the upcoming appointments, that will get a response quicker. I just told him it's a reminder and also that I have the money, so all he needs to do is show up. Last I heard about it was an e-mail from the stepmom telling me how it's not a smart way to spend money, blah, blah, blah.

SO, when I pick up Tyler today, I'll need to summon all my courage and strength to face them and ease them away from arguing in front of Tyler, but at the same time telling them Tyler's too important to postpone these appointments. Especially since we found out the doc will be considered to be in network with a referral. The argument I'm getting now is about waiting until January because of the $2500 deductible. I mentioned in my e-mail to him about checking to see whether what we (or I) pay for these appointments can be applied to next year's deductible since it's so late in the year, etc. Anyway, please send positive thoughts my way. I've done a good job so far on standing my ground with him, which is a major deal because I've always let him bully me up to this point. Just need that courage to continue. :thumbsup2

Stay strong Holly, you can do it.....think of being in a court room and put your pro game on! It's what you're good at! Use it! Then let us know how it went! Good Luck!

Well, that was the easiest house I ever bought. My best friend just called me from Blacksburg to me we bought a condo!!

I never really discussed this with DH....(he hates anything to do with money, bills, investments.......never wants to hear about it....as a matter of fact, my friend who I am buying this condo with is in my will to pay all of our bills should I die...!!) so I just said to him..."You bought a house today"....and he said "I did...where is it??" :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: Then he went back to watching football!!

Congratulations! That was easy!

:thumbsup2 :cool1: :thumbsup2

Given the 50-50 chance of it selling at all.....I guess we did ok.....we were on the upside of the odds. It was very hard to be there. I declined to go to the closing. I said I'm finished. The lawyer will handle it without me and I trust her 100%

Now it's time to make up for lost time.....lucky to have a fun vacation in five days and then when we get back, we only have two weeks until Turkey day with the relatives and more DISmeets! All good things. I'm very thankful!

Thank you! :goodvibes I'm a bit anxious to hear the results of the EEG, but I'm sure it's normal. His pediatrician told me she wants to rule out emotional seizures, at least Ithink that's what she called it. She told me sometimes there can be seizure activity in the brain that happens to be near the area that controls emotions and could result in outbursts that don't seem to be triggered by anything.

And yes, until now, his dad's only role has been the "fun" side as they just play before bed and on Saturdays when he's not off fishing with his buddies. The stepmom has done all the "caretaking" when Tyler's over there. Despite our differences, I'm so grateful she was willing to take on that role so that I know Tyler's well taken care of over there.

any man can be a father.....it takes a MAN to be a DAD John1 can tell you that
