Good Morning V and Holly, I wish I could stay and chat with two of my favorite chatters......HA HA HA......but I've got to run.....it's a busy and important day.

The sun just came out here.....it's gonna be a great day.....beautiful and warm.

I'll check in again, of course I will, when I get home from auction and let you all know how it went! Hopefully, I'll be very happy!

:thumbsup2 :goodvibes :thumbsup2

Good morning Deb! I just know it will go well! Sending good vibes your way!

Went to a "Celebration of Life" today for a very dear friend, one of our wine reps. He passed away last Satuday, rare pancriatitis (sp) that was unusual and severe and his heart gave out. He was only 45 and left a beautiful little girl of 8.

He was always kind and giving and really supported our business.

Always hard to understand the loss of someone so young and vital. He really was the kind of person that filled a room when he walked into it with his deep resonating voice and warm smile.

I will miss him very much.

Karen

How very sad. sometimes some things that happen are just too difficult to understand. How sad for the children.

It's auction day....I'm going to be a nervous wreck until 2pm today....and even more so after 2pm if it doesn't sell.

John is over there now helping my brother load up his last minute stuff....he'll stay in a hotel tonight and fly out in the morning.

I've got some errands to run this morning then I'll meet them over there. The house is so empty it echoes.....not even a chair to sit on.

Wish us luck that it sells!

:goodvibes :thumbsup2 :goodvibes

All the best to you and hope the house sells!!!:)

I just saw him on MSNBC. There was a short interview with the family. Mom, dad, daughter, son (the baby) were all sitting on the couch for the interview, the baby was in his mom's arms & drinking a bottle. Dad said the baby was tossed about 40 feet(I think), his crib mattress landed on top of him before the rubble piled up on him, so he was one lucky little boy! Nothing more than scratches. Amazing!

That is amazing.

Tonight my oldest is having a friend over to play and then pizza. Tomorrow my dear friend is having her annual family harvest party...they go all out. About 100 people, it's catered (last year it was filet mignon), with two bouncy houses, DJ with fun music, a pumpkin patch (one pumpkin for each kid) and the finale is they fill up two large garbage cans (clean cans, not used) with full sized packaged candy and then dumps the candy in an area filled with hay and sends the kids in there with collection bags. My kids were in HEAVEN!! And on Sunday we'll recover as the kids enjoy their sugar highs!

That sounds like so much fun!

Plans for the weekend:

HOUSE AUCTION TOMORROW AT 2PM!!!!

Hairdresser on Sun.

BROTHER HEN LEAVES Sun 10:30am back on a flight to Jacksonville, FL where his home base is. He will try to get on another ship and go back to work. He's a merchant seaman....been sailing since he was 18....actually started by scrubbing the decks....now he's an engineer....an officer, I think....actually wears a white uniform.

I love him dearly and I'll be the first one to defend him fiercely....but as DH John likes to say......relatives are like fish....after three days, they stink!

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Good luck today Deb! I hope the house sells at a good price.:wizard:

Listening to people on the news talking about how they made it to their basement just before their house was torn apart last night. Very scary! There was a 15 month old baby buried under 5-6 feet of debri from a house that was destroyed. Neighbors heard him crying and kept digging until reaching him. He's completely unharmed because he was in sort of a bubble of space where nothing touched him.

OMG, thank goodness that baby was ok! Such a scary story!!

Our son Mike just got home from Salt Lake today, and he thinks he can't go on a cruise then. But Chuck and Pat and I might still book!

Also: GOOD NEWS! Mike got his score back from his LSAT exam that he took a few weeks ago and he got 171 out of 180! We are so proud of him. That means he will most likely be admitted to almost any University he chooses. He just needs to get his applications out now! :yay: :yay: :yay:    :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

That's great news! I scored a 170 on the exam, and can tell you, that's enough to bring in some nice scholarship money. Congrats to your son.

It's only five more days until we leave for FL to start our Wonderful vacation! I've been so busy with readying the house for auction that I really have not started thinking about readying for the trip. I've got a lot to do in just a few short days. It's going to be crazy busy here until we leave.

As of today, no pool or hot tub for me. I still have one stubborn spot on my right leg that just won't go away yet. I told John that we'll soak some more after my hair appointment tomorrow. If it comes off, then I can do pool, if not then no. Either way, the Dr. said no sun on either of the legs. So I'll have to do SPF 50 and cover them with a towel. We'll have to bring supplies and keep the leg wrapped too. Oh well, at least I'll be poolside sipping on a BBC.

Vacation is so close Deb!! Sorry you're going to miss out on the pool/hot tub, but at least you'll be in WDW! Will I be seeing you in Epcot on Friday??

Well, DBro is off of the Magic. He just called from the airport as he's getting an earlier flight. So I have to pick him up from the airport in a few hours. Funny story though-- they were at Castaway Cay yesterday, snorkeling out by the submarine/sunkin ship, and a big storm rolled in. DBro couldn't swim back to the shore, so they sent out the lifegaurds for him!! I guess he'll never forget that about his honeymoon!

OK, so going to JFK soon, and then we're going to my mom's house to make some broccoli cheese soup and paint our pumpkins :)

gosh, at the local high school here there has been a deadly strain of Staph. This is gettign scary!

A HS student died In Roanoke VA. I think I am most concerned about Daniel....living in a dorm and all.

If you could see where he lives...it is so GROSS!! He applied to a dorm that was co-ed, but got assigned to an all male dorm. It really SMELLS like an all boy dorm. There are kids everywhere.....everywhere!! And they all shower together.....just ripe for a problem like this one.

We are looking inot buying a condo in Blacksburg. Both of my girls want to go to VA Tech and condos are pretty cheap. My best friend (Daniel's best friend's mom) and I are thinking of doing this together. The one we are looking at is brand new, 3 bedroom 3 bath......$160,000. If we rent the one room out, it is cheaper than dorm life....and much safer.

LSAT score of 163 and higher gets a FULL scholarship at my school!

Oh my goodness! What a memory for your brother! LOL!

Great idea about the condo, Lisa. :thumbsup2

My dad is thinking about doing this up near Binghamton, NY. My sister is
probably starting school there next September, and he does a lot of business in that area right now, so he would't have to keep getting hotel rooms! He's actually in that area this weekend.

Have fun at your mom's house! Sounds like a great time!

Wow, a full scholarship would have been nice! My student loans are going to last forever!

I'm right with you on that! I have a 25% scholarship, but it doesn't seem like it because I'm almost to the limit on how much I can take in student loans, so I'll TRULY be paying them forever!

I suppose I'd better go be productive. Laundry & cleaning can wait until Tyler's home because he's still at that age where he wants to help with everything, so I'll take full advantage of that! :rotfl: Schoolwork on the other hand, of course that's much easier when he's gone, so I'm headed up to school to get some work done. If I sit here, I'll never get started because I can't pull myself away from the computer! That crazy DIS addiction again! :rotfl2: So I'm going to bribe myself with a Subway sandwich for my reward after getting lots of homework done. :thumbsup2

Yeah, I just consolidated mine, and then spread them out by an even longer period.

If you can then I would. Sounds an all together better idea and then it is also there for the girls!

Ditto on Darrell's...

Well I'm off for a 24-hour crop to raise money for the Susan G Komen Fund.
hope everyone has a great weekend.

39 days until our mini-DCL fix! Cat. 12 GTY, but hoping for a chance to upgrade at port for less than what it would have cost to originally purchase the higher category. Since I booked so late, well after final payment was due for folks who booked long ago, it seems like they would have just given me a room assignment since they probably won't have people cancelling at this point because of the money people would forfeit by cancelling. Maybe the ship is so empty that everybody will get upgrades! After all, not many people want to cruise for only 3 days. :goodvibes

Wow.....watching Bama/UT game....an hour before our game time. Going to make some chicken tacos - John will be home around 3:30.
