we need UT to lose, us to beat Kentucky, us to beat GA and SC and SC to lose another to even be at the top of the SEC....good gracious!

Good Morning V and Holly, I wish I could stay and chat with two of my favorite chatters......HA HA HA......but I've got to run.....it's a busy and important day.

The sun just came out here.....it's gonna be a great day.....beautiful and warm.

I'll check in again, of course I will, when I get home from auction and let you all know how it went! Hopefully, I'll be very happy!

:thumbsup2 :goodvibes :thumbsup2

Sending pixiedust: for a successful day.

Went to a "Celebration of Life" today for a very dear friend, one of our wine reps. He passed away last Satuday, rare pancriatitis (sp) that was unusual and severe and his heart gave out. He was only 45 and left a beautiful little girl of 8.

He was always kind and giving and really supported our business.

Always hard to understand the loss of someone so young and vital. He really was the kind of person that filled a room when he walked into it with his deep resonating voice and warm smile.

I will miss him very much.

Karen

 A little religious, and please just ignore if it bothers you. I found this quote last night on a website site when I was searching for answers for all the violence in Africa:
"The longing inside us will never leave until we see that vision of God, we're simply not done until that day. Not close. This inner discomfort however, is not a bad thing although it burns us like fire. God is using it to change who we are and the questions we ask. Jesus is the key, we simply need to find out what door it unlocks."
I am not meaning to preach or anything, it just gave me some comfort.

When I saw the movie, I had the same response.

Glad I am not alone with that. Everytime I see one of those shows, I want to do a Madonna and adopt one of those children. But I have read it is a very difficult process to be able to adopt from war-torn countries - hence why you have to be Madonna in order to make it work.
It's auction day....I'm going to be a nervous wreck until 2pm today....and even more so after 2pm if it doesn't sell.

John is over there now helping my brother load up his last minute stuff....he'll stay in a hotel tonight and fly out in the morning.

I've got some errands to run this morning then I'll meet them over there. The house is so empty it echoes.....not even a chair to sit on.

Wish us luck that it sells!

:goodvibes :thumbsup2 :goodvibes
I will be thinking about you! Good luck! :pixiedust:
It's only five more days until we leave for FL to start our Wonderful vacation! I've been so busy with readying the house for auction that I really have not started thinking about readying for the trip. I've got a lot to do in just a few short days. It's going to be crazy busy here until we leave.

As of today, no pool or hot tub for me. I still have one stubborn spot on my right leg that just won't go away yet. I told John that we'll soak some more after my hair appointment tomorrow. If it comes off, then I can do pool, if not then no. Either way, the Dr. said no sun on either of the legs. So I'll have to do SPF 50 and cover them with a towel. We'll have to bring supplies and keep the leg wrapped too. Oh well, at least I'll be poolside sipping on a BBC.

Is the water seawater on the cruise? I thought seawater was good for wounds? DH and I got in a nasty little spill in Greece one time prior to a cruise. The doctor told us to soak our road rash in the salt water pool for about 15 minutes every 4 hours. Luckily, the water was so cold on the Princess Island ship no one else was swimming or else I imagine we would have grossed some people out! But your wounds are much different, so whatever the doctor said. I just recalled something about salt water being good for you.

We are looking inot buying a condo in Blacksburg. Both of my girls want to go to VA Tech and condos are pretty cheap. My best friend (Daniel's best friend's mom) and I are thinking of doing this together. The one we are looking at is brand new, 3 bedroom 3 bath......$160,000. If we rent the one room out, it is cheaper than dorm life....and much safer.
And great investment! Putting all the rent you would have been paying to someone else to your own property!

So today I am determined to hang the rest of the kids art in the hallway upstairs. I got all the frames from Michaels. I like to have their artwork hung up like real art. I think it makes them feel special and we get to enjoy looking at them every day. I also need to put away clean laundry. Our nanny does the laundry and puts away the kids clothes, but she doesn't put away ours. So it stacks up over the week. After that, I have piles and piles of paperwork. Do you all keep your mortgage statements even though you can now get them on-line too? I keep some paperwork in case someday they say we didn't make a payment which the paperwork shows we did...but after 15 years, we never had to do that with any payor (insurance, car, house). I am thinking we don't need to keep all this paperwork. It probably would make it easier for when I need to find certain very important paperwork such a our Disney confirmation letter!

we would love to buy a condo in Gainesville as well. We should have done it 5 years ago when everything was under $80k, now it's more like $130-160k and we just don't have the extra money.

38-17 Bama!

We went looking for mums today, could not find any nice ones! Nothing even blooming, I would love to go out to Hunsader Farms tomorrow. They have a hugfe pumpkin patch.

Wish me luck please and send all the strength you can. I sent Tyler's dad a reminder about the appointment coming up on Tuesday for the him, me, and Tyler's stepmom and then the full day for just Tyler the following Tuesday for his day of testing. I never heard any final resolution from him, so I figured if I e-mailed him a reminder about the upcoming appointments, that will get a response quicker. I just told him it's a reminder and also that I have the money, so all he needs to do is show up. Last I heard about it was an e-mail from the stepmom telling me how it's not a smart way to spend money, blah, blah, blah.

SO, when I pick up Tyler today, I'll need to summon all my courage and strength to face them and ease them away from arguing in front of Tyler, but at the same time telling them Tyler's too important to postpone these appointments. Especially since we found out the doc will be considered to be in network with a referral. The argument I'm getting now is about waiting until January because of the $2500 deductible. I mentioned in my e-mail to him about checking to see whether what we (or I) pay for these appointments can be applied to next year's deductible since it's so late in the year, etc. Anyway, please send positive thoughts my way. I've done a good job so far on standing my ground with him, which is a major deal because I've always let him bully me up to this point. Just need that courage to continue. :thumbsup2

I really like that! :goodvibes

Holly, I will pray that your fears are unfounded and Tyler's dad and stepmom will cause no problems or delays.:)

Well, that was the easiest house I ever bought. My best friend just called me from Blacksburg to me we bought a condo!!

I never really discussed this with DH....(he hates anything to do with money, bills, investments.......never wants to hear about it....as a matter of fact, my friend who I am buying this condo with is in my will to pay all of our bills should I die...!!) so I just said to him..."You bought a house today"....and he said "I did...where is it??" :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: Then he went back to watching football!!

Our season is pretty much over.....was hoping USF could go all the way....oh well.
Everytime you mention USF, I think of my nursing school - University of San Francisco!

I love it! Congrats -such a wonderful financial and emotional move. The other reason I think it is great to own the condo where children will stay in college is that you have another avenue to check up on them every now and then! Lisa

The sun was shining, the breeze was calm, the temperature was warm.....a beautiful day for an auction.

I left the house and went to mom's 15 minutes before the start. The sun went away, the wind kicked up, it was cold.....we held the auction inside. The house sold for $144.....I'm grateful for the sale....but just about break even.....no profit to be made. How sad for such a grand home. I saw all the people bidding on it in mom's dining room and remembered all the times in her kitchen.....it was hard to see strangers standing there bidding on it. Now, we put it behind us and move forward onto a Wonderful vacation.

Brother hen already left for the hotel. I probably won't see him for a very long time. I'm sure he'll call all the time though. I told him to let me know as soon as he gets a ship. I'd like to know where he is in the world.

The sun is shining once again, the breeze is calm and the temperature is warm......could mom have been upset about selling her home at auction, since the weather changed exactly at 2pm and was sunny by 3pm when the auction ended!?!

:goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

good luck Holly....

Deb, I can only begin to imagine all the emotions running through you now. I hope you are doing ok!
