so what are everyone's plans for the weekend?

Tonight I have to clean like mad...then tomorrow my dad and his girlfriend are coming over. We are going out to dinner (early, have an 8pm date!) and then he is doing the Siesta Key Triathalon on Sunday morning.

Oh and at 8pm, I will be sitting on my sofa getting ready for the game tomorrow...!
Our weekend: work today until 1:00 class, classes from 1-9, hopefully go out for a beer to unwind after class or might just have a couple at home so I can plop into bed soon after. :lmao:

Tomorrow: more cleaning and de-cluttering like I did the week before we went to Tennessee. I have so much more room in my closets now after getting rid of BOXES of junk! :yay:

Tomorrow night: After I pick Tyler up, we're headed to the haunted hayride we went on last year. He loved it so much, cracked up laughing the whole time! My favorite part is when we stop for a snack with a coven of witches deep in the woods. They're very nice witches and they give everybody a cup of bat's blood (apple cider) and donuts to fatten up the kids so the witches can eat them. :rotfl: He begged me to let him go in the haunted house last time, but their sign said "not recommened for kids under 5". Well, he's remembered that ALL YEAR and when I told him we're going this week, he said, "YES! This time I'm 5 and get to go in the haunted house!" The kid is so excited! :rotfl2:

Sunday: No idea. Church because Tyler wants to show his friend his cross necklace he got on vacation. Then probably we'll finish our fall decorating or just relax at home. We'll wing it this week.

We are going to the beach in DL (Delaware for you West Coasters:lmao: )

www.bethanycam.com

So far it is me and Vanessa and Annie. Vanessa has never been to an American beach....so Bethany will be a good first experience. It is a long weekend (Columbus Day). Mom keeps waivering back and forth about going.

Yesterday, Dulles Airport broke a record 88 degrees for the high temp. On Monday around here, it is supposed to be 90 degrees....great weekend for the beach.

Daniel has his first bowling tournament at UNI of DL (Delaware for you West Coasters :lmao: ) ...of course DL (Delaware for you West Coasters:lmao: ) is such a small state that I hope he lets me go on Sunday to watch him. He does not want me to come if I will be the only parent there. So on Sat he is going to check out the "parent action" and let me know if I can come on Sunday.

Is Washington DC the only area of the county that closes everything on Monday, Columbus Day?

Lisa
We're supposed to have the same temps you'll be having. The beaches will re-open again, as they have been almost every weekend since they closed on Labor Day! They said on the new this morning that it's the longest swimming season on record for our county. Very nice!

Everything closes here too for Columbus Day since it's a federal holiday.

YIPPEE! I just got an e-mail from one of my professors saying that class is cancelled tonight! Well, only one of them. I'll still be there from 1-3 and then have to go back from 6-9, but that middle class isn't happening today! Not sure what I'll do with my unexpected free time! Maybe get a haircut. Or take a nap. Or just be outside in the beautiful weather!

Holly - the Haunted Hayride sounds fun. My friend just called and he wanted to know if our kids wanted to go trick or treating together. ....and which neighborhood....he wanted me to know that it was the wife planning this far ahead not him!! :)

Tyler's buddy who went on the hayride with us was absolutely terrified! There were monsters who would chase the wagon with chain saws, and other monsters who would GRAB the kids in the back and say, "Mmmmmmm.....come closer....I'm hungry!" and stuff like that. It made Tyler crack up, but his poor friend will probably never go on a hayride again!

Weekend plans.....
Soccer, soccer and more soccer!!!! Oh the joys of soccer season. This week we have a 9am and 1pm game which is the worst since we live just far enough away from the fields that it is a pain to head home between. Actually after soccer we are heading over to our friends for the annual Cider Press party! Scott and my friend's DH are planning on making 10 gallons of hard cider while the rest of the cider will be given out to everyone there (that which we don't drink that night with vanilla vodka in it....it is sooo good!). Our new house has 3 apple trees in the yard and we have 2 huge boxes of apples to press.

Then, waking up early to watch the Seahawks BEAT the Steelers (I hope):cheer2:

Today is the deposition (in 5 minutes...) for a patient of mine whose L&I claims keep getting rejected so I am going to testify on her behalf....I am sooo nervous.

Jaide has been begging to the Haunted Woods near our house for years. It says not recom. for kids under 10, and she is 9 this year. I say no way (I am a chicken and wouldn't do it even at my age) but Scott thinks why not:confused3. Usually I could get her to forget about it until it was too late, but this year, the farm is on our road, so we drive by it all the time!

I used to LOVE the haunted woods! We don't have one near us, but I used to go to one in the city where I'm from. I think those are much more scary because the "monsters" hide under piles of leaves, so you really can't see them until they jump out at you.

And those are the type of reasons I will never do them! Scott dragged me to a Haunted House one time when we were first dating...I was so scared, I had my eyes shut the whole time and he dragged me through! :lmao: First to admit, I am a WHIMP!!!

Well, the judge was due to call at 9:00 am and he is LATE :confused3 Just making this even more stressful, the waiting for the phone to ring!

Marilyn, what a beautiful little town! Enjoy your trip. We REALLY need to get to England!

It was lovely, but many of the little shops we liked have changed.:confused3 The weather was beautiful and the views on our journey were wonderful. It really is a lovely area of England.

I'm so glad you clarified that! I was thinking I didn't know there was a beach IN DISNEYLAND!! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :rotfl:

That is a great unexpected treat! I vote for a nap!;)

For those of you that are using DU - when do they "assign" an agent to be yours??? I transferred my res and that of my friends over, but didn't get anyone's name.

I would e-mail sueellen@dreamsunlimitedtravel.com and ask her to take over your reservation. I do not think they assign unless the agent does it. It has to do with they way they pay commissions. SueEllen is great and would be wonderful for you to have her for future.....

SueEllen and I have been friends for a long time. When I first started working with her...50 of us from church were sailing together (the same group has sailed 2 other times and we are sailing Thanksgiving 08 together) so SueEllen has gotten lots and lots of referrals from me. I just love her. We were always just internet friends....even though we both live in VA (Virginia for you West Coasters :lmao: ) we are about 3 hours apart. Last Jan we did a 3 day cruise together just for fun and it was great to spend time with her and her 2 kids!!

Yup, I got the out of office message, but she did e-mail me back almost immediately. She's got some loose ends to tie up before being out of the office but will get with me as soon as possible because I told her I'm ready to book and pay whenever she can book me. :thumbsup2

And she told me you're "a gem" and that she loves referrals! :goodvibes

I love SueEllen (did I repeat myself?? old age!!) Did you tell her you had e-mailed the generic site?

Kids can make such poor decisions! :sad2:

Oh my....there is such a sad story at our High School. As I have told you guys, Westfield is huge...4,000 kids. The VA Tech shooter was from Westfield as well as a kid who shot up the police station (killed 2 police officers) and said he did it so he did not go to the HS to shot.....

Any way, I have gone over and over with Vanessa about drinking and driving. I am so afraid of this as she is NOT my child. Scares me more than anything else...I think....I have told her DO NOT GET IN THE CAR WITH ANYONE WHO HAS BEEN DRINKING OR DOING DRUGS>>>JUST CALL ME.....

Well, a Westfield 17 year old senior (Vanessa did not even know her thank goodness) was drinking during the football game and drove and killed a mother of 4 (one child totally disabled and now there is no one to take care of him) on her way home from church choir practice. She is being tried as an adult with a maximum sentence of 20 years.....so many lives ruined for a poor (terrible horrible) decision.....

Holly - we went! I would not say it was worth $100 a seat that we paid but it was good. It was educational but towards the end it had a few laughs. The dinosaurs are on wheels but it looks like they are walking. My 5yo DGS loved it!

the first time I saw the tickets they were up there like $50-75, then I got a scout flier, now we can get them for $30. We are going with 3 other families. 4 girls, 4 boys, 4 moms & 4 dads, even if the dinos aren't fun we'll have fun because we are together.

1. I just turned 50 and I was supposed to have my wisdom teeth out last Friday. I chickened out and cancelled the appointment. So, I really feel for Molly......I re-scheduled for Nov....not sure if I will keep it or not. I really have to get them out.

I understand, I haven't gotten my wisdom teeth, they don't exist in me and I'm so glad....good luck and yes :lmao: tell yourself I'll send you $20 if it helps...:lmao:

2. My mom is okay.....she gets unreasonably angry and then it just blows over. She won't take the anti-depressant the doctor gave her. She says it hurts her "tummy". It really is like having a child. We are going to the beach this weekend and Don is staying home....so mom can come with us or stay here. She has changed her mind 1,000 times :lmao: about going or staying. I don't mean to complain, my mom is so much better than she could be for 85. She just hates losing her independance. I don't blame her....but she says NO to assisted living......

I so understand this. If you can look at the assisted living places and no your options. It makes sense that she would like it when she was there, more people like her there. But I hope I'm like my mom when I'm old, a little bit missing upstairs and no cares in the world...:rolleyes1

If you send me $20 per tooth......maybe I won't chicken out next time:lmao:

ok, I'll get ya a DOD how's that?

My kids always got $2 bill.....does anyone see those anymore?

That is a good idea too, my kids love them, but we don't see them too often.

Go Tribe!! I want the Yankees to LOSE!! too.....

okay, I'm in go Tribe....

We are going to the beach in DL (Delaware for you West Coasters:lmao: )

Is Washington DC the only area of the county that closes everything on Monday, Columbus Day?

Lisa

nope, we have school and work and life on monday...have a good day off.

Nan -

Yours too! Especially the one w/ the kids! Love Wilson's face :rotfl: (hope I remembered the right name!)

yes you did, he thought that it was so funny to show Chip the potato chips...

I'm so glad you clarified that! I was thinking I didn't know there was a beach IN DISNEYLAND!! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :rotfl:

oh yeah there is a beach in my Dland, it's in POC :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Off soon to the teeth puller, wish us luck!!!!

Hope the teeth pulling goes well Nan.
