I hope it has all finished now Holly.

Watching CNN - showing yesterday's bad weather in Chicago, and weather report coming.

When it rains it pours...
went to my meeting this morning and when I got home hubby was bent over in pain ( the man is NEVER sick) off to the hospital we go.Sat in ER where we both work and they gorked him with pain meds and said he prob has or passed a stone. He refused to be admitted, so brought him home on meds.He promised me he'd go back if got worse and meds didnt control it( stubborn)But I love him  Now I have to go back to work for 12 there UGH

Hope she doesn't have too much trouble getting home.
She made it home safe and sound. Didn't come across much damage in her city. We're going to call the comedy club and make sure their power didn't go out, and will venture out still...unless we come across major stuff on the way. Weather guy says storms are all gone. No more on the way tonight, so things look good.

OH MY GOSH! Poor Tom! I love him too, so I hope the meds work! The folks here don't know how sweet he is. For some reason, he's the only one Tyler would listen to when he started acting up when we'd be out places. And when Tyler was tired at Sea World (not this year, but last year), Tom CARRIED him almost 1/2 the day! I don't know many people who can carry a 4 year old that long (he was 4 at that time) or who would even want to!

Heather, it sounds like you weren't able to get any sleep today. :sad2: Please be careful and try to take care of YOU too! Isn't this your last of four 12s in a row? I hope so, so you can get some rest!

Thanks V. I've just gained 7 lbs reading through them!:rotfl:

Didn't mean to scare you Marilyn! Sorry! But thanks for caring!

that is what I find great about these boards.....I have made such great and true friendships on here. Sure you get a bad egg every once and a while...but I am thankful for the friends I have made here, without the DIS it wouldn't have happened!

Heat Initiatives For UF-Western Kentucky Football Game

The University of Florida announced several points of interest on Friday related to its season-opening football game against Western Kentucky at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 1. Kickoff in The Swamp is set for 12:30 p.m.

Fans are encouraged to properly hydrate and to wear loose clothing and a hat to avoid heat exhaustion.

Sunscreen of at least 30 SPF is recommended, repeating the application several times over the course of the afternoon. Sunscreen should be applied while the skin is dry and four ounces is needed for adequate protection.

People should get out of sun if dizzy and should drink plenty of fluids, such as water and Gatorade. Another key is to avoid excess alcohol, since it will compound heat problems. Spectators with
G-1 respiratory or cardiac disease should be especially careful, and everyone should proceed immediately to an aid station if help is needed.

University of Florida vs. Western Kentucky Heat Plan

Cool Misting Tents in the concourses of the north, south and west sides of the stadium
Additional fans on east side concourse
30,000 Gator fan giveaway at gates courtesy of the Florida Lottery
Sunscreen giveaway at FanZone at Gate 2 outside of the O'Connell Center
Cooling Hand Towel giveaway at FanZone at Gate 2 outside of the O'Connell Center
Free samples of Gatorade also provided at FanZone
Plastic cups with ice for free at concessions stands
12-Ounce waters on sale at concessions stands for $1
70 Water fountains operational in stadium
Cooling buses on the east and west side to supplement aid stations
Officers at gates looking out for fans in heat distress and directing to aid stations
Stephen C. O'Connell Center open for football fans during the second half to watch the game on the big screens and cool down *Spectators must have a football ticket for entrance
General Guidelines

Wear loose fitting clothing and a hat
Sunscreen of at least 30 SPF - repeat application
Get out of sun if dizzy
Drink plenty of fluids - water and Gatorade
Avoid excess alcohol - it will compound heat problems
If you have G-1 respiratory or cardiac disease be especially careful
Go immediately to an aid station if you need help

We just got this email from the booster club...this is the first time they have opened up the O'Connell center during a home game that I recall! I don't think the heat is any different than any other year?

Cindy called me on her way home from work because she saw I'd called her. They all had to take shelter during the tornado warning, but she was surprised to hear how close to her work that it touched down!

this was what I found most interesting from the #4 party school in the country!:lmao:
Yeah, like that's gonna happen! :rotfl2: Speaking of.....did I mention that pitchers of beer are only $5 where I'm going tonight? AND it's only $6 to see the show! :woohoo: Cheap fun!

Just kidding of course!

87,000 people in our area lost power!!!! I sure do feel lucky!

Well, when he was eating breakfast, I asked him if he heard anything strange during the night. I told him I thought I heard something that sounded like a bat or something flying around, but was too tired to get up and check it out. He thought about it for a second and said, "Well, the tooth fairy would fly around, but I didn't leave my tooth for her." I told him sometimes the tooth fairy does crazy things and that he should check anyway. He checked under his pillow and when he saw an envelope with his name, he said, "But I didn't even leave my tooth!" So I told him to open it and see what's going on, I read the note to him, and he was so excited about her "allowing" him to keep his tooth! Then he had to count all his money. He was quite pleased with himself! :rotfl2:

Holly - this is just too precious!!!

Well it's two hours before I have to leave for my wound care center appointment...where they will probably admit me into the hospital. Of course, I'm freaking out in a panic because I DREAD any type of medical procedure. I need a valium or two or three, but I don't have any. I'm on my own today because John has taken so much time off this past year between me and mom and Ray...he had to go in.

My dog was chasing the cat last night and banged into the back of my legs and I started seeing stars. It still hurts this morning. Great, just when people are going to be poking around on them today. I have such a low tolerence for pain, which I have every day, then I go to a medical procedure and burst into tears when they start poking around adding even more pain.

Well I already wrote down all my illnesses and all my medications...wow the list is long for both. I never realize until I have to write it down. Now I have to pack a bag and get dressed...can you say procrastination....I feel like I'm being a big baby, but I just can't help it. I remember being with mom in the hospital eight times in the last eight months and seeing all the things that they did to her...she was so brave and I am so not.

OK, I have to get my act together...I refuse to think about anything that's going to happen today...I'll only think about Mickey's ship...sipping BBCs by the pool...sitting on the balcony in the middle of the night...hearing the horn go off out of port...pulling into a port with the steel drums music playing...meeting all my new DIS family...ok it's working, I'm feeling better now. Cya all in a couple of days...hopefully not long. :upsidedow
Deb - you hang in there - we'll be praying for you!

Holly, I know you all weren't laughing at me - I was :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: myself! I just didn't want to offend anyone.

Your US 'fanny pack' makes us all chuckle over here too!

This was TOO FUNNY!!!! I cannot tell you how much I've enjoyed this session of CATCH UP!!!! I have a feeling we are going to be in stiches most of this cruise!

Just wanted to let everyone know that DH and I will still be making Fish Extenders :) . This summer has been a busy and hot one (no air conditioning :scared: ) so we have not gotten any made. After our cruise the first week of October things will slow down a lot and it will be cooler so we will be starting on them again. If you are interested just PM us.Carol

Yipee - let me know when you need money!!!!

First I have to say, this mornings English lesson was the best laugh I have had in months thanks again GRANMAZ I needed it:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

well DEB was admitted early this afternoon, she is so frightened and upset. I wish there was a way for me to help but I can't and it drives me nuts. She's in one of the top 10 hospitals in the north east, so I know that she will get the care she needs but I'm still worried. They say that she will be there for a few days (Sunday or Monday out). You here, her (our) DIS friends have been her anchor through this last few months and I can't say it enough THANK YOU.

p.s. she ordered a broadband card for her laptop on Tuesday so that if this came to pass, and she feels up to it she'll be DISing from her bed before long.:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

Thanks for the update - you let her know she is NOT alone... we are all thinking of her... tell her I said "this too shall pass"!

BTW - Jackie, I love the Tigger pic in your avatar! I have always loved Tigger and when Haley was born we took her to Disney at a month old (I know, bad parent!!) but Tigger fed her a bottle at Crystal Palace!

ok, now I am looking at old pics, we have such great memories!

here is Samant's first encounter with Charming....I love the jaw!

Miss V - this is so adorable... the look on HER face - how do you keep from laughing all the time with these two little faces???

Ok -back to catching up - I keep thinking when I hit the next page arrow... I only have _ pages to go, but it keeps adding pages at the end. OH MY you folks have been busy.
