Are you flying with Mr Branson's airline? (Not sure we're allowed to post the airline name on here, particularly given your recent experience with UK v US English! :lmao: )

:rotfl: We are indeed! When he first called the airline that I was quite embarassed - well it was very controversial then wasn't it?

I'm really good at finding ways to avoid mowing! After hearing all the nights V's family has steak, I've been craving it for a few days. So after I put the laundry in the dryer, I ran up to Kroger, got a GIANT steak and corn on the cob, and made an AWESOME meal. I guess I'll call it a late lunch/early dinner because I forgot to eat lunch and now I'll be too full for dinner. Yum! Then by the time I was done eating, thunder was rumbling in the distance, the sky got dark, and it started storming, so NO mowing for me today! :yay:

Gonna finish watching "My Super Ex-Girlfriend" and take a LONG nap before going out. :woohoo:

TORNADO SIRENS! I have no basement! Gotta go take cover. TV says tornado warning!

Sorry, I was a bit freaked out. I was in the bathroom, reading a book :rolleyes1 and could just barely hear what sounded like the tornado sirens. The get tested once a month, the first Saturday of every month at 1pm, so I recognized the sound, but couldn't figure out why I was hearing them. DUH! You'd think the severity of the storm would have clued me in. Anyway, I turned on the TV to see if I could find any info and immediately saw the radar map with all red everywhere, and tornado warning. Then my phone rang and it was daycare letting me know that Tyler had already been picked up long enough ago that he'd already be home. They didn't want me to worry. Nice of them! I thought about running across the street to my neighbor's house because she has a basement, but things seemed to be clearing up already.

Wow....news report is showing houses flattened all over the county West of mine. And a bit south of where I am. Very scary. MAJOR damage just down the road from Tyler's day care reported on the news, so I hope day care is fine since all the kids would still be there. It's a very flimsy church building that is a bit like an airplane hangar (with no basement). Reporter who is driving around reporting damages just said a store near where I work is on fire because a tree was ripped out and thrown on the power lines connected to it. Sounds more severe than I had thought. Tornados.....they tear through so quickly and are so devastating. :sad2:

Oh Holly how frightening. You just never know do you?

Have you had any of the flooding I saw on the news here yesterday?

Very scary. There's another tornado in the county just North of mine. And I keep hearing of more places the one that ripped through our city touched down. But no, we haven't had the flooding, fortunately. Destroyed buildings all over and widespread power outages. Fire truck sirens almost nonstop for the last 15 minutes. I feel very fortunate to be in just the right place.

They just showed on a map that this is a line of storms stretching all the way down, diagonally, across the whole United States.

Oh my gosh! The reporter says she just spoke with a woman who was in her car driving, the car was PICKED UP by the tornado, did a couple rotations, and dropped back down, landing right side up on it's tires! The woman and her daughter in the car said goodbye to each other during this because they truly believed there's no way they'd survive. Incredible!

They just said on the news that in our county, if anybody had any plans to go out tonight, it's a good idea to cancel and stay home because there's so much damage all over, roads are closed and power is out all over, and it's still too early to assess exactly how much damage there is and exactly where.

I definitely am NOT taking a nap now. Not until I know all these storms are gone. I wouldn't have heard the tornado siren if I'd been asleep because it was too faint. Will be glued to the news reports all night.

Were you going out?
I was supposed to to out to a comedy show tonight with a friend. I doubt it now. I'll wait and talk to her when she gets out of work. But I'm sure she's hearing the same things I am and going out is probably the last thing on her mind too.

Oh my gosh! They said the Fazoli's restaurant right down the road from me had its ROOF torn off!

Hope she doesn't have too much trouble getting home.
I know...me too. But I don't want to call her in case I'd interrupt her trying to maneuver through whatever she may have to get through while driving. I'll wait for her to call me, which I'm sure she will because she'll know I'm wondering.

Tried to call my fellow cruiser Cindy too because her work is really close to one of the touchdown points too, but didn't get her. She'll call me though as soon as she sees I tried to call her.
