well I am beat. I hate cleaning. We went in the pool for a while, I managed some laps, the girls just want to jump in again again again and squeal the whole time!
We did see tons of butterflies out there and have some green peppers and pineapples we need to pick!
Pool sounds so fun! But it's not warm enough here to swim. :sad2: It's in the 70s, but it was in the 50s overnight, so I'm sure the water would be chilly. Not willing to find out! Might mow the back yard later though. Tyler can play on his playset while I do that. Would be good for him to get some exercise (actually good for both of us) since we've been inside all day boxing up old stuff. We have TWO boxes now to post for sale! So much stuff is boxed up that it looks like we cleaned the living room, but really didn't! :rotfl: I sure hope stuff sells because if it doesn't, I'll have to try to do a garage sale. I've never done one in my whole life! :headache:

I am having no luck....here's our dining plans for this week

Tues - Dinner - Maya Grill
Wed - Dinner Marrakesh
Thurs - Bfast Akershus, Dinner Cape May
Fri - Bfast Crystal Palace, Dinner Yachtsmen

so I guess I am going to leave it....Maya, Marrakesh and Yachtsmen are all new to us.

Thanks to whoever here originally told us all about craigslist. I've posted some of Tyler's stuff there to sell. Nice not having to pay eBay's fees! I hope it works! Tyler's been instructing me on how to take the picture. How the items should be positioned, and which ones I need to take 2 pics of (to show front and back), etc. He's a great helper today! Yup, he definitely is trying to make some money! :lmao:

ya, Craig's worked for us on some stuff, not all of it. we find that sometimes you have to post a few rounds to get the bites. We use it on our rental house too. I love the no fees. ebay was great in the start, but the fees have gotten too high for me. Also now they charge if you see it or not. The old days was only when you sell it. Dont get me wrong still love to shop on ebay, but paying money to sell junk just isn't my idea of good $ sense.

I sold a wine cooler and a box of Boyd's Bears on Craigslist quick! Pretty nice you don't have to ship the stuff either!

Paging Angie F of Brooks Alberta. I got your Cafepress order confirmation. I will forward it to you, please leave an e-mail in my PM box, see what happens when you are so fast, lol.

Thanks, back for regularly scheduled chatting.

V, at least three times that I can count, on the podcast they have said how good the Yachtsmen's Steakhouse is. They have said it is a well-kept secret - great food, easy to get reservations, and not as pricey as the California Grill, or Canada. If you like seafood, I have heard good things about Cape May too.

Can't tell you anything about the Maya Grill, every time we have eaten at Coronado Springs, we have eaten in the Marketplace Food Court - and really liked it.

It's two families who live in East Germany (back in the day of the wall) and build a hot air balloon to escape to the West. Based on a true story and VERY exciting.

I remember actually seeing this movie many, many years ago. If I remember correctly, wasn't it based on a true story?

Anyone ordering shirts from the cafe press site? I like them all , cant decide.Hubby wants a golf shirt and I cant decide between the tank and the scoop neck tshirt. Im not a big tshirt person, but do like scoop or v necks. Then there was the color, like the black but think will be too hot....geesh decisions, decisions

DEB!!! :cool1: So glad to hear from you and really happy that you're starting to improve! Before you know it, you'll be back home and this will all be in the past...just like a bad dream that's gone away.

Deb, I am so thrilled to see you back online with us. This is the first time that I have posted since the loss of my mother and since I feel a closeness  to you because of our shared loss I could not stay away when I saw your post. I am so thankful that you are doing OK. I know that you will come throught this with flying colors. :grouphug: The amount of prayers and pixie dust being sent your way is truly amazing. Just keep thinking that soon the day will come when we will all meet. And yes I plan on having a DOD in hand. (most all the time). We might even plan on doing the Vegas meet in Jan. I could be my birthday present. I might not be able to wait until May to meet you and John.
Hugs:hug: and Pixie Dust to you both.

Deb, glad things are looking up! Guess we might be seeing you in Vegas baby!(news to me)! Oh ya, we just had a few shots of tequila, and the last one we toasted to YOU!:drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1 :thumbsup2

Twas the Nightmare before Halloween!!!!! But it's real...YUCK! I can't wait to go back home....should I click my heals three times???:hippie:  :hippie:

Thanks for this, John! I love reading about the old attractions. I loved the House Of The Future. I remember being fascinated by it as a little kid. I was broken-hearted when I found out it had been demolished, even though it had become what we jokingly referred to as "The House of Yesterday".;)

Yes, the Geeks (us, PJ,Vanessa, Angie, Kim and Families) are staying at the GC for Sunday and Monday night. I can't wait to see where it all began. As a kid, I always wished to go to Disneyland, but my family could not afford a trip to California.

I used to watch the Wonderful World of Disney and dream about going there some day. So even though I have been to WDW many times, Disneyland will be special for me.

This sounds like so much fun! Could I join you guys at DL? I wasn't sure if I was going to go after the cruise but I love going to DL with first-timers!

The first time we went to WDW after DGS was potty trained was a mess. He wouldn't use any of the bathrooms in the park because they were Mickey's and he didn't have his permission. Needless to say we had to buy some pull-ups since we couldn't find Mickey everytime we needed to go to the bathroom!

Aren't kids funny? Although as someone already posted, I'm sure it wasn't at all funny at the time!

anyone have any exciting plans for the weekend?

John Edward was very interesting. We had great seats, in the second row so we could see him perfectly. We didn't get a reading, but some folks right behind us and right in front of us did.

He started out by addressinng the audience for about 20 min. One of the things he said was that he hoped people would listen with healthy skepticism. I was also interested to see that many of the things/impressions he said did NOT seem to resonate with the people being read, yet he didn't back away from them--that is to say, if he had a very stong message of someone who like to gamble and the people said that didn't have any meaning for them, he'd just stay with it, almost insisting that he was being told there was something to do with gambling. I guess maybe the skeptic in me would have expected that he would back-pedal and maybe "fish", but he didn't. He had a lot of "hits" and many people were quite moved by what he had to say. Another thing I didn't expect was that if he was reading someone (or a group), he generally stayed with them for at least 15 minutes, usually more like 20-25. I guess I thought he would do shorter readings and try to get to more people. But he made it clear before he began that his guides would be in charge and that he would be following them. So it he was drawn to a certain area of the audience, even if you felt he was talking about you but you were sitting somewhere else you should not stand up or try to get his attention; if you did he would just ignore you. He also took questions from the audience at a couple of points and I was impressed by how he handled those. Very tactful and compassionate, even with a couple that were kind of "off the wall".

My overall impression was that he is a very down-to-earth guy and wasn't trying to be slick or "sell" himself in any way. He was there to do what he does and let people draw their own conclusions. As I said before, I didn't plan to go or buy my own ticket; it was a last-minute thing where I stepped in for someone who couldn't make it (and the tickets, I found out, were expensive!). I knew who he was, but hadn't really watched his show religiously or wouldn't call myself a "fan". I do, however, definitely believe that those who have passed are still around us and have had some powerful experiences in my own readings with others. I left the event feeling reassured that my loved ones are indeed near me, accessable and are watching over me.

The plans to go see POC AWE with my nephew didn't work out, so I went to a nearby Apple store and spent an hour getting demos of iLife and iWork. FUN! I'll be buying both of them soon! Good thing I don't have an Apple store in my town--I'd be a lot poorer and get even less done around the house!:rotfl2:

Ok got the address and ordered the flowers, they promised they would be sent today. She'll be getting a balloon, teddy bear and flowers and asked her to make it colorful and shes going to throw some "lime" green carnations in there.:)
I have got to go to a meeting but will PM all involved with my address later and those who wanted the hospital one too later this afternoon.
Heather

I'll send my check tomorrow Heather. Thanks for doing this!

Tornados.....they tear through so quickly and are so devastating. :sad2:

Wow Holly, this is scary. Glad you and Tyler are safe!

When it rains it pours...
went to my meeting this morning and when I got home hubby was bent over in pain ( the man is NEVER sick) off to the hospital we go.Sat in ER where we both work and they gorked him with pain meds and said he prob has or passed a stone. He refused to be admitted, so brought him home on meds.He promised me he'd go back if got worse and meds didnt control it( stubborn)But I love him  Now I have to go back to work for 12 there UGH

Hope your hubby is feeling much better!

But surprisingly, there are no bad eggs on this thread! :grouphug: I'm about to go nuts waiting for all of us to meet!
Let us know if this was successful Holly. I've wanted to try craigslist. I've had several successful garage sales, but this sounds easier.

Heat Initiatives For UF-Western Kentucky Football Game

We just got this email from the booster club...this is the first time they have opened up the O'Connell center during a home game that I recall! I don't think the heat is any different than any other year?
Wow! This would make me think twice about going! But I'm a wimp in heat and a double wimp w/heat and humidity!:scared1:

I can't wait for fall - I love to make lasagna and cheese cake!:hourglass

I love to make soup! I also like baking, too. Cooking is so NOT appealing when it's hot!:headache:

have we gone through our usernames yet? Most are pretty obvious...

notsolittlemermaid--because I'm a scuba diver and I'm not so little!:rotfl2: Oh, and my sign (that's from WAY back) is Gemini.

I had fish and chips for dinner! There' a fish & chips place right by my house now...they guy who owns it English and it was very good. I had haddock and it was moist and yummmy and the batter was great. The 'chips' were OK....a little 'fat' for me (I like skinny, crunchy fries). Will go back and try his chicken strips some time too and the Shepheard's Pie. I've always been leary of Bangers & Mash as I don't know what kind of (texture) sausage it is (hate mushy sausages).

Jackie, what/where is this place? I'd like to try it!

Traditionally it is haddock in batter and chips, mushy peas, bread and butter and a nice pot of tea!!! John has baked beans instead of the mushy peas though!

Are these really overcooked or smashed up green peas???? eewwww! Translastion needed, please!

I ADORE him - is he as cute in person?
Yes!
He's amazing... btw you never told us about the other reading when we were in DL... we had SO much to talk about. I think we might need an agenda (kidding) so we don't miss anything. You have several trips to tell us about too!

Are we going to set a date for our next AZ DIS MEET?:cloud9: :dance3: :yay:

I'm going to be down in the valley for a few days after my reunion (Sept. 17-19) Could we plan something then?

I always have a book with me in my purse. I read at least one book per day if not more. When I am at Lake Almanor, sometimes I will read as many as 6 in a day.

WOW!:scared1: That's all I can say!

I've always wanted a model bare home but we are all pack rats so that isn't going to happen.
That's me, too!

I wonder how Deb is? John must be spending all his time with her today which is nice. I hope things improve for her.

Also Laura, AuntyBrat. I'm not sure when her operation is.

A few weeks ago one of our cruise members came on and said she was going to have an operation on a brain tumour, and further treatment to a couple of others. I keep wondering about her, and sorry I can't remember who it is.

Yes, I've been thinking about these other folks, too. Prayers for everyone.

OK, so this whole time I am thinking John Edwards is campaigning where?

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Cleaning has gone to the wayside today because I've been busy making last minute plans for Labor Day weekend! :woohoo: I was going to just stay home and relax because Labor Day is Tyler's dad's holiday this year. WELL, his dad just told me he received tickets to Cirque du Soleil in Toronto Saturday night for his and his wife's 1st anniversary, so he asked if I could keep Tyler Friday and Saturday and he'll pick him up Sunday afternoon or evening so they can spend Monday together. So Tyler and I will be joining my aunt and my uncle's family camping in a cabin near the Mackinaw bridge! Tyler's been up there before with his dad, but I've lived in MIchigan my whole life and have never seen the bridge! I just can't wait! We'll drive up Friday after work (I get out at 12:30) and will come home late Sunday. Here's the campground: http://www.campmackinaw.com/

Saturday we'll be going to Tahquamenon Falls: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tahquamenon_Falls

And then drive over to watch freighters go through the Soo Locks! http://www.exploringthenorth.com/soo/locks.html

Sunday we'll take the ferry over to Mackinac Island for a short bit before driving back home. Very fun-filled weekend!

This sound great, Holly. I've been to Mackinac once, a day trip in the summer; it was lovely. So different from Arizona!

Well, I'm going to see Resurrecting The Champ. Hope everyone has a nice end-of-the-weekend. Of course for us retired folks, the weekend never ends! (Sorry, couldn't resist!):rolleyes1

Deb - Disy, it is!!! and so will we be with our DOD and hugs all around.

Glad you have reach out to tell us you are coming along. We worry and hearing your voices makes us not so worried.

Still sending prayers for speedy healing.

*n*anette *skjerven* not so clever.

DH is chickeninthecupboard .... that's our code words for "it's taken care of" or "completed" or "I handled it"
