WOW, you guys can chat! It took me 40 pages to catch up again! Thanks, I had nothing to do this afternoon anyway....

Noel, my surgery sister, you know what I'm going through coz you'll be in the hospital soon having yours. Your words comforted me.

Heather, you are soooooo like Holly, you amaze me, such a giver in life, I'm fortunate to know you now....can't wait to cruise and do Vegas baby!

EVERYONE, your care, concern, prayers, support and hugs and love are coming back to you tenfold....I got em, I feel em and I'm giving em back!

Lucy and Bob came in person and I got a minnie face pillow and she's beautiful and a really cool box that has mickey and friends on it that I don't want to throw out.

Best yet, is the beautiful flowers, lime green carnations, that I got from everybody with a cute teddy and balloon....the teddy's name is DISy I thought it was clever coz I was dizzy at the time and it's love from my DIS family.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU

You really don't know how much you have all helped. For every miserable procedure they did to me.....I closed my eyes and turned my head and I was hugging all of you on Mickey's ship....of course, drinks were in hand.

I'm finally showing signs of improving today...and John brought me a broadband adapter today so I could WiFi at the hospital. YEA! Happy Now! It has been very hard....after surgery....I threw up from Friday until this morning....YUCK! I think we finally got the meds right now and I'm doing way better. They said no follow up surgeries, so I'm happy about that....the legs are progressing, so I'm happy about that.....I can eat now, so I'm happy about that! It's all good now....we just want to go home.:flower3: :goodvibes :flower3:

Awwwwwww, shuckssss as goofy would say :)
Well your a wonderful person too and was very easy to send you well wishes and everyone on here was right behind me to help.
Its funny because like I told you on the phone I was kind of against this cruise, I wanted to do a Alaskan and dh wanted to do this one but now he could not sway me as I see there is going to be alot of great people to meet and sail with on this one.

Hi Deb,
So good to hear your cheerful voice and the good news that you are healing! Be good  and follow Dr.s' orders so you'll be as good as new...or maybe even better!

Deb, I am so thrilled to see you back online with us. This is the first time that I have posted since the loss of my mother and since I feel a closeness  to you because of our shared loss I could not stay away when I saw your post. I am so thankful that you are doing OK. I know that you will come throught this with flying colors. :grouphug: The amount of prayers and pixie dust being sent your way is truly amazing. Just keep thinking that soon the day will come when we will all meet. And yes I plan on having a DOD in hand. (most all the time). We might even plan on doing the Vegas meet in Jan. I could be my birthday present. I might not be able to wait until May to meet you and John.
Hugs:hug: and Pixie Dust to you both.

Venetia, we will always have this bond together, even long after we cruise....so I hope we can stay in touch and always be friends. I'm so glad you came back online when you saw I was here....yeah to you posting again!

Pixie dust and lots of prayers go out to you too.

I would love to meet you guys in Vegas, we have some celebrating to do! What date is your birthday?

Big Hugs to you!!!! I got your PM just before I came into the hospital and just got back to DISing today. I will write back to you soon.

Deb, glad things are looking up! Guess we might be seeing you in Vegas baby!(news to me)! Oh ya, we just had a few shots of tequila, and the last one we toasted to YOU!:drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1 :thumbsup2

YEAHHHH I LIKE THAT, Bubba, thanks for toasting to me....my DH John will join you in that shot of tequila....I will be sipping Champagne, of course.

News to you....Vegas baby....one just never knows and says ok to DW when she says pack a bag, please! LOL HA HA HA.....I would really love to do it with you guys too! Let's see if we can make that happen!pirate: :grouphug: pirate: :grouphug: pirate:

Deb - glad you are feeling better!

Me Too!!! What a relief!

Deb - Disy, it is!!! and so will we be with our DOD and hugs all around.

Glad you have reach out to tell us you are coming along. We worry and hearing your voices makes us not so worried.

Still sending prayers for speedy healing.

Disy is currently sitting with squishy...they really like each other....(squishy is the turtle that goes on all the cruises)....they're best pals and so now I'll have to bring Disy on cruises too!

I too was very worried there for a while, I didn't think I was ever going to get better....scary! Now, I'm waiting for that SPEEDY healing so I can get out of here!

Awwwwwww, shuckssss as goofy would say :)

It's not so much where you are going.....but who you are going with.....and there is no boat in the world better than ours because of who we are going with.

Hi Deb,
So good to hear your cheerful voice and the good news that you are healing! Be good  and follow Dr.s' orders so you'll be as good as new...or maybe even better!

Thanks Cheri, I sure am going to try....I want to be out of here yesterday!!! I'll do whatever they want me to so that I can get home sooner!!!!!:cloud9:  :cloud9: :grouphug:  :grouphug:

Deb,

So glad to hear you are doing better!

I am always wondering how long it will be before hospitals wise up and have internet access. I think it would help people recover by being connected and not alone. Surprised they allow the wireless card since most around here do not allow cell phones.

Once again, good to hear from you!

Thanks for this, John! I love reading about the old attractions. I loved the House Of The Future. I remember being fascinated by it as a little kid. I was broken-hearted when I found out it had been demolished, even though it had become what we jokingly referred to as "The House of Yesterday".;)

This sounds like so much fun! Could I join you guys at DL? I wasn't sure if I was going to go after the cruise but I love going to DL with first-timers!

I swear I saw that house of the future, but it must have been a different one. There is one at the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn Michigan that is very similar. I thought maybe it had been moved there.

I am sure there will be a whole group of us from the cruise hanging around together - feel free to help us out! I am sure Angie and Dennis will enjoy showing us around too!

*n*anette *skjerven* not so clever.

Right with you Nan. John Halkias= Jhalkias I registered for the DIS over 6 years ago, when the internet was a bit different, and I did not even think about hiding my real name with an alias or anything like that. I now hate to give it up.

Amy's is much more creative - Waltsgirl . . .

Her dad's name is Walt, and of course the more famous Walt who created the Mouse, so it all fits.

DIS name is EllaEnchanted....cat's name is Ella and loved the Movie....very disneyesque.

DH DIS name is 1GrumpyJohn....he loves Grumpy and his name is John....probably had to add the one in front coz someone already got it.
 :grouphug:

Deb...glad to see you back on line and posting again, which means you are feeling better. So happy to hear that things are improving! :cool1:

You guys were so busy chatting during the last 3 days of my convention there is no way I can catch up :sad1: Hope everyone is well, happy and healthy!!!! If some great plans were made, count me in :lmao:

I reconnected with a HS friend this week in PS and I think we now might be heading to DL in October for a weekend trip. Scott has to go there for work, and they (he and his wife) invited us all down to stay with them and hit DL :dance3: :cheer2: AND Scott said, sounds great!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now, to see about ticket prices and soccer schedules. I was getting very sad that I was going to have to go a whole year without a Mickey fix, and it might be fixed. Doesn't DL do something like MNSSHP?

Have a great week everyone! Taylor goes to her Kindergarten open house tomorrow am and drops off all her school supplies....my baby is starting K, where does the time go?!

fourmcds....there are 4 of us and are last name is McDonald. Very original, I know. I was threemcds forever, and then I thought I had better update the name since Taylor was 3 already!!!!

V....I always wondered about yours! I figured something about being a gator fan, and maybe your nickname in college was lilly or something!

Tomorrow night is meet the teacher night at school. Sophia is worried because she found out our neighbor boy is in her class, and she heard he does "gross" stuff in class. Amy is worried because her teacher is a 34 year teacher and Sophia does not do as well with older teachers - I am hoping this will help her with that as I have heard she is a very good teacher.

Alex is all moved in to his new place. It was a lot of work this weekend, and my back is feeling it. Since he is now in a year-round lease, with his new place, we agreed that Sophia would be switching rooms now to the bigger room. I think Alex will be missing his old room and feel funny, but Sophia is getting a new bed that will fit better in the larger room, and Alex will probably be coming home less and less now. It was silly to keep the room for him now. I am going to move his essential stuff to the other room for when he wants to sleep here.

Wednesday we have to go to Alex's White Coat Ceremony where he formally gets his white lab coat as he starts medical school. Classes start tomorrow for him, and will be basic introductions to medical school for the first three weeks. He admitted to me today that he is a bit nervous - he has always had such an easy time with school, and is worried he may actually now have to do some work and studying!:)

I agree....but since I don't have any monitoring equipment, I only have pick line and oxygen....I can have cell and WiFi....and I have my own room too!

Once again, good to hear from you! Thanks John, it's good to be back!

WoW, John, that is so cool....I wonder if Amy thought her dad was the Mickey guy when she was growing up???? So cool that she can say she is Walt's girl!!! :cool1:

Karen,

No rush on the request...we do have a little time left :lmao:

I like Malbec! I was happy that the Wonder had the Norton Malbec on board in December.

I'll let you know if any more make it on my list.

Monica,

We have a couple of good ones also. the Renacer Malbec from Argentina is very nice, relatively inexpensive and not quite as heavy as some Malbec's. The deLormier Malbec that we carry is from Alexander Valley (California) and is just really lovely! We also have an amazing Malbec from Mendoza, Argentina that is made by a winemaker from California named Guy Davis. His Davis Family Wines are all fantastic and his "other" label is called Gusto. This label has the Malbec and a great Marlborough, NZ, Sauvignon Blanc.

I know, I know, way too much information!

Karen

Doesn't DL do something like MNSSHP?

DL's Halloween party is called Mickey's Halloween Treat. And while it is nice it is no MNSSHP. There is no parade or fireworks. Each year they have expanded it though so it is getting better.

We are going on Oct 5 with my sister and niece who are coming to visit from NC.

What week will you be at DL?

34....older teacher???????WOW, now I'm feeling my age....what ever happened to don't trust anyone over 35.....her teacher is under 35 and you're calling her old!!!!! ..... Just kidding, I know what you mean, but I just had to get on your case for it.......Old at 34 humph! I'm 50, what am I ... ancient?

Good Luck Alex....welcome to the real world!!!!! I'm sure he'll do just fine.:cool2: :rotfl2: :cool2:

I just asked her . . . she was not the Disney freak I was when she was growing up. She says she did not even realize there was a Disneyland. They went on vacation to "educational' places like Washington - go figure!

I NEVER could get there as a kid, but my FAVORITE shows on the WWOD were the ones where they visited the park, or when Walt talked about plans for the future. I used to DREAM about going to DL, but we could never afford to go there growing up. I literally had goosebumps the first time at WDW as a young adult when I walked into the MK - and I still do to this day.

Deb,

Not sure you REALLY know what I meant . . . by 34 year teacher, I meant she has been TEACHING for 34 years . . . She is in her mid to late 50's - and probably near retirement. No, 34 years old would be YOUNG to us!

Thanks so much for checking up on me! I've actually been "warned" by a certain moderator for engaging in a similar conversation with "CruisinLover". She deleted my posts and everything! He's very argumentitive and opinionated. Don't even try to talk to him about tips.Things like this are exactly why I dont post very much. I thought it kind of funny that that lady called me a newcomer when she only has 61 posts herself! Oh well, some people! Thanks again for backing me up, and we will see you guys soon!:thumbsup2 (but not soon enough!)

You know, Bubba, there are just some really important things in life and this stuff is just silly and not even worth a minute of your time. Just keep posting here so we can get to know you better and don't bother with that other stuff. :)

well I am beat. I hate cleaning. We went in the pool for a while, I managed some laps, the girls just want to jump in again again again and squeal the whole time!
We did see tons of butterflies out there and have some green peppers and pineapples we need to pick!

And how are the grapes doing?

I thought the exact same thing as Deb. I wondered how in the world 34 would be considered too old. :rotfl2: Heck, even I'm older than that! :rotfl:

Hi Kaylee, glad I'm finally feeling better too! It's been rough doing the surgery and then nausea after for 3 days. .... so glad that's over now.

Lucky you going to DL in Oct.....sounds great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So sorry you're going to lose your baby to kindergarden tomorrow...they all have to grow up don't they!!! :grouphug:

Have a great week everyone! Taylor goes to her Kindergarten open house tomorrow am and drops off all her school supplies....my baby is starting K, where does the time go?!
pirate: pirate: pirate:

I realized why I don't like days we just hang out at home. I eat ALL day! Even though I tried to stay busy, Tyler of course had to have a whole meal every 2 hours, so preparing and seeing all that food got the best of me and I ate way too much today. Oh well....I'm sure one day of backsliding won't do too much harm. Back on track tomorrow.
