I just can't wait! After my niece's birthday party today, when we went back to their house to swim in their pool, my brother & his wife invited Tyler and I to visit them at the condo where they'll be staying for a couple weeks in South Haven, MI. (The pic below is from a live webcam from a few minutes ago). I spent much of my childhood on Lake Michigan because my grandparents (dad's parents) lived a few blocks from the beach. I was at their house just about every weekend most of my childhood, and even during the week for months at a time and my dad would just have to drive me to and from my school in my mom's city every day (about 45 min. each way). So opposite of Deb, who has salt water running through her veins, I have Lake Michigan water running through my veins. LOL!!!! But beach, sand, crashing waves, etc......similar environment. Tyler is so excited because I told him the beaches there are nothing like the inland lakes we have here in our city (grass with a tiny strip of sand about 3 feet wide, and you can see all the way around the little lakes). It's much more like the ocean beaches he loves so much because like the ocean, you can't see the end of the beach because the shore stretches on forever, and you can't see what's on the other side of the water. I know, there's no real comparison to ocean beaches, but it's pretty darn close!![]()

Holly,
I grew up looking out at the ocean every day in California, and when I visited Lake Michigan for the first time, it felt like an ocean! It's HUGE!!
Glad you had a good time.
With all of the amazing parenting that you do, all the hard work, all the school and with all of the financial pressure... you deserve as many breaks as you can get!!
