I just can't wait! After my niece's birthday party today, when we went back to their house to swim in their pool, my brother & his wife invited Tyler and I to visit them at the condo where they'll be staying for a couple weeks in South Haven, MI. (The pic below is from a live webcam from a few minutes ago). I spent much of my childhood on Lake Michigan because my grandparents (dad's parents) lived a few blocks from the beach. I was at their house just about every weekend most of my childhood, and even during the week for months at a time and my dad would just have to drive me to and from my school in my mom's city every day (about 45 min. each way). So opposite of Deb, who has salt water running through her veins, I have Lake Michigan water running through my veins. LOL!!!! But beach, sand, crashing waves, etc......similar environment. Tyler is so excited because I told him the beaches there are nothing like the inland lakes we have here in our city (grass with a tiny strip of sand about 3 feet wide, and you can see all the way around the little lakes). It's much more like the ocean beaches he loves so much because like the ocean, you can't see the end of the beach because the shore stretches on forever, and you can't see what's on the other side of the water. I know, there's no real comparison to ocean beaches, but it's pretty darn close! :thumbsup2

Holly,

I grew up looking out at the ocean every day in California, and when I visited Lake Michigan for the first time, it felt like an ocean! It's HUGE!!

Glad you had a good time.

With all of the amazing parenting that you do, all the hard work, all the school and with all of the financial pressure... you deserve as many breaks as you can get!!

Karen

Deb,

We'll see where we are at with the business, but we think that we are IN!! DD has a 3 day weekend and we have promised to bring her to Vegas to see Love (she is a HUGE Beatles fan!)
Karen

:cool1: :cool1:  :thumbsup2
Yea! This is turning into a real party!!
I saw the Larry King Beatles show tonight--made we all the more interested in seeing LOVE!

Julie, good to hear from you!

Jan, thanks for posting your wedding pix and stories. I LOVE the cake. I can't picture myself getting married again but if I do, I'll have to have a cake like that!

Going to see Ratatouille tomorrow. Tonight I saw Evan Almighty. I really liked it. I don't know why it got such bad reviews. I recommend it. I saw 1408 last night. John Cusask was good. I don't generally go to movies like that but the reviews piqued my curiousity. It was interesting; my friend and I spent quite a while discussing our takes on it. We even checked the IMDB (internet movie data base) discussions to see what others thought.

Uh oh, I spent too long typing this and the DIS is down-- guess I'll post it in the morning!:headache:

Morning Kids!

Jan, thanks for posting the wedding pictures. What a great love story

Cheri, nice price on that Frontier airlines fare. We keep thinking we should wait till Feb to book (when we make final payment on the cruise) as most airlines are a pain in the patooty about changing/cancelling plans.

Peg and I saw "Evening" last night and I really enjoyed it. But I think I'd like to see a comedy today!

Well, I'm off to clean up the kitchen and make some breakfast......have a good Sunday everyone.

well, I really want to book this flight but without knowing much about frontier, I am having reservations. They do have tv's at each seat....but it leaves LA at 6:35am, layover in Denver and arrive in Tampa at 6pm.....ohh decisions.

If you are having doubts then why don't you wait and see the prices for Airtran? They haven't released that far ahead yet but their prices are always good.

It truly is amazing how similar Lake Michigan is to an ocean. Our visit there will be next weekend. We'll be spending Saturday night there and will have all Sunday on the beach. Can't wait!

Good morning all! We've been out and about, busy like crazy, just stopped home for lunch and to do a load of laundry and dishes. Then back out running around and yardwork. It's a BEAUTIFUL day! 66 degrees so far, with a high of 76 expected. Tyler's begging to swim today, but I doubt that will happen! Well, I suppose it won't hurt to try. I'll hang out on the picnic table and watch! ;) Or I might jump in too. It was the same temp yesterday when we were swimming in my brother's pool and that was fine, so I'm sure ours will be great too because it's tiny and stays pretty warm because of how small it is (doesn't take much sun for it to warm up the water). Trying to make the most of today because it's supposed to rain Mon, Tues, Wed, and Thurs with thunderstorms thrown in most of those days. :sad1:

Have a great day everybody!

when do they usually release those? I am just wanting to get it out of the way. I am looking at midwest now, $731.20 total (with taxes and all the other surcharges) for a 9:10am -6:20pm. I like those times a bit better.

The weather here is great...pool weather, which I am going to be jumping in any minute, well as soon as I can tear myself away from the pc. My mom and Amber came over last night, we had a cookout and the watched the Guardian. I liked it, a lot, did not like the ending.

John is doing yard work right now and the girls are playig pirates and have made a pirate ship with blankets and what not on the floor. Fun stuff.

Yes, I did hesitate somewhat because of the penalties for change, but decided to take the plunge anyway. That fare was so much lower than any other I decided to "gamble"--I'm definitely going unless some kind of emergency happens and if so, I can change it with a penalty and use it for something else.

Hiw did you like "Evening"? The reviews aren't that good, but it has so many great actresses in it. It's not playing here yet anyway.

76 degrees?!?!?!? RAIN?!?!?!?!?!?

envy, envy, envy:faint:

They book about 6 months out. I know we will be flying them because we have 2 free tickets we need to use and I don't want to waste a Delta ticket that I can fly to Mexico with.

Yard work....I still have to mow my back yard. Started to earlier, but I agitated some bees and after a few swipes back and forth with the mower, decided to stop until later. Didn't want to get stung! Now I've lost my motivation. But will probably head back out while Tyler's watching Treasure Planet. That's one Disney movie I've never heard of! We went to the video store to rent Free Willy (I know he'll love it because of his love for Orcas) and it turns out they're selling ALL of their VHS movies for $1.99! We usually use DVD, but for the price, I couldn't pass up the deal. Wound up buying Free Willy, Treasure Planet, There Goes a Space Ship, and The Crocodile Hunter Movie. :thumbsup2

Gee, too bad I couldn't swing over to your house for a quick visit because Tyler would have a blast playing pirates with your girls! ;)

It actually never made it to 70. It's 68 right now, a bit chilly, but absolutely beautiful! I hate sweating, so this is perfect weather for me! If you're in the sun, it feels much warmer, but if you get hot, you can just get in the shade and cool off. Perfect!

Sorry to rub it in. ;) Wish I could bottle some up and send it to you!

I recall someone on this thread said they flew Frontier not long ago and they liked it. I can't remember much beyond that but I know it was a positive experience for them because I had never heard of Frontier and figured it was good to know that the person liked them.

Holly - it is a shame we all aren't closer....the girls would love a playmate....! Everyone, including ourselves always seem busy (School playmates)...always too busy for hanging out!

I would like to see Air Tran's rates, but I really can't wait that long....another 6 months?? That is torture to me, I want to know the cost asap! I am weird that way. We do have some miles on US airways as well as $99 companion certificates but I called today and the hold time was 25 minutes!! YIKES!
