WOW...we're almost at page 1000....who will be the first post on that page....the best pirate of course!

I decided that for my 50th, last November, I wanted to go to NYC and see a broadway show and eat dinner at Tavern on the Green in Central Park and stay overnight at a nice hotel. I haven't had the chance to do it yet, with mom and her hospital stays starting just before my birthday. But I do intend to get there and my best friend, Cindy, and her husband said they'll join us. Cindy turns 50 this August. Maybe we'll go then and celebrate both of us.
For Ted, you should find the thing that he loves the most, besides Mickey and wine, and make a special weekend out of it. Maybe invite his best friend too. A special museum, a concert, riding horses, etc., make it an experience.
I didn't want a big party. I'm not 16 anymore. I just want quality time with those I love the most by choice.![]()

Thought we were the same age... I think I even alluded to it in an earlier post! Same year, towards the end.
It was a very good year...

Oh boy, It took me half an hour today to catch up on all the posts I had missed. I wonder what this thread will look at at the Feb.'08 mark!
Tiggerspal, if you need some time with young ones, you're more than welcome to meet the rowdy boysdance3: ). They cure everyone.

On the car rental places, all of those are the ones closest to Disneyland/Anaheim Resort Area. I know you can get a shuttle from LAX to DL, so I would think DCL would have something similar from San Pedro to Disneyland.
Having been to San Pedro several times, it's not a very pretty place and the Ports of Call shopping center has seen better, much better days.
Here's a link to a video I took out of San Pedro last year. I thought some of you might enjoy it (Ibouncetoo, TiggersPal, NotSoLittleMermaid).![]()

I'm going to take it down at the end of April. I found someone pirating it on myspace again, claim it has their own! Bloody pirates!
Gretchen (DD10) has been practicing for Mulan every since November when she got the role of Crickee in the play. She has worked so hard, practicing 2-3 times a week, along with all of her other extra stuff. Anyway, the show was this week.....she did it 4 times!! Twice on Tuesday and Twice on Wednesday.

You know something John? I think Amy must really have her hands full with you! (No pun intended).
Anyway . . . I am a tail end baby boomer Noel. 1960.
DH is 1957! Big B-day this year! Any suggestions on something cool to do?
Karen
So, what happened to the DIS? Gone for more than a few minutes.
Anyway . . . I am a tail end baby boomer Noel. 1960.
Help me understand more of what you want to do, and how much you want to spend. I love my Macbook -
Reasons to go Pro :
Slightly faster processors available
Larger screen (Macbook is 13" only - pro is 15" or 17")
Expansion slot in Pro - none in Macbook
You like the look of aluminum
backlit keyboard on Pro
You want a matte finish screen (glossy only on Macbook)
Here's an article with a more detailed comparisson . . .

For me, I would save some $$$, and buy a Macbook with as big a hard drive as you think you need, and I would also make sure I got the Superdrive (read and write CD's and DVD's).
My son is going to get a Mac this summer, and he is going to buy a pro - he wants the bigger screen. I like the portability of the smaller laptop.
Any other questions I can help with?
Excellent! A good sense of self and good self-esteem are both products of you and your husband's good parenting!!
You must be very proud, and I hope that she find something close to home!!
BTW - have missed your posts! Glad to have you back!
Karen

It's good to see you back, Noel. It's not the same here without you. What an awesome day you and Sam shared...seeing her go out into the real world for the first time...priceless....and to see her being successful at it....your heart must be swelling with pride....to know that all your efforts over the years of teaching her have now been rewarded. It doesn't get any better than that... enjoy the milestone together.![]()

John,
My DW (clynne), told me that you are the resident MAC Geek. I have a MAC Book Pro and was wondering if you could help with a small issue. The IO Gear GUC232A (USB-Serial) will not work. Not sure why; I have the latest binaries but it fails to initialize. It does work on my IBM T60 and Dell GX650.
Any ideas? Once working I can ditch my winblows machine
Thanks, Surly
