That is David Beckham posing as Prince Charming.

Great Pic, but he still does NOTHING for me...;)

I am now coaching soccer for my six-year-old's team. Have I ever played soccer? NO! Do I know anything about soccer? NO! How did this happen? :scared1: DS started soccer thru our parks and rec department this afternoon. The head soccer dude (see, I know all the technical lingo) started and ended the session with this plea to all the parents to coach. There are 8 teams and only 2 coaches. Naturally, my son's team is one without a coach. By the end of the practice today, none of the other parents had stepped up, so I said I would do it. Head soccer dude swears the manual will tell me everything I need to know. Riiiight. And will the manual magically bestow upon me some kind of athletic ability? Those poor kids. At least they are only in kindergarten. I can't mess this up too much......can I?

I think that your son will have wonderful memories of how HIS mom was the coach! How can that be anything but good????

Hi Gang-I thought I'd post the info again about our Southern Cal DISmeets. If anyone wants to come that hasn't already PM'd me, please do, so that I can get you added to the ressie!

  • When - Sunday, May 20th
  • Time - 5:00PM
  • Where - Storyteller's, Grand Californian
  • Meal - Buffet (large variety of food)
  • Cost - $26.99/adult; $11.99/ages 3-9 plus a 15% gratuity that will be added automatically to the bill
For parties this large they only do buffet, so there's no option in matter. And for a group of this size, I think that works out better so that there's not any confusion with the bill, etc.

As a reminder, these are the people who indicated they're coming...if you've changed your mind, please PM me back so that I can tell them to remove you from the reservation:
LiserAnn, 4 (2A, 2C)
clynne, 4 (2A, 2C)
ibouncetoo, 1 (1A)
NotSoLittleMermaid, 1 (1A)
MrsMork and DrHug , 5 (4A, 1C)
firsttimecruiser, 3 (2A, 1C)
birkner, 2 (2A)
LisaG520, 2 (2A)
tink1963, 2 (2A)
woody73, 2 (2A)

That's all for now!

I'm looking forward to it! I even got a special new shirt to wear!:woohoo:

I'm feeling like a miserable failure at the moment. I just did a demo of the software I support to Disney. We have taxonomic software and I was demonstrating the product using their character names. It didn't go well. The program that I was demonstrating is very new, a bit buggy, and I'm not real familiar with it yet. They were asking questions I couldn't answer and I was showing things that didn't work as I thought they should. It was horrible. And the fact that it was Disney made it all the worse. I thought I would be able to have fun with it. :sad2:

 Hope you feel better after sleeping on it!!!

I doubt it because it is a holiday weekend when we get back. There are quite a few hotels across the street from Disneyland that are not as expensive. I stayed at one in March. It was O.k. for the purpose but no magic going on there.

The folk on the EB seem to be booking rooms at the Hojo.

OK....I think I'm losing my mind. I'm pretty sure somebody asked earlier how many people are required for a Magical Gathering or Grand Gathering or whatever it's called, but now I can't find that post. I'm thinking it was Granmaz or UKangel who asked? Well, anyway, we did this when we did the land/sea package with my family and there were 12 of us, but I think you only need 8. Hope that helps whoever asked! :confused3

It was me who asked, just an idea for the Dec WDW meet. Thanks.

Good morning, Marilyn!

Hope you are doing well and have a nice day planned!:hippie:

Spent yesterday "cleaning" the house so that it could be "cleaned" today. Tomorrow the carpets get cleaned (and boy do they need it!!);)

The DIS will go down soon, I'll try to stick around till it comes back up!!:rolleyes1

Karen

Morning Karen. I slept in a little this morning!!! Not many pages to catch up on thankfully.

Yeah! The DIS is back, took a long time coming back this time!

Marilyn, Sleeping in is a wonderful thing!! Such a treat sometimes!

I was up and atom all weekend, had things going on both mornings. Those are usually my sleep-in days!:rolleyes1

Karen

It's strange. The Dis goes down completely for almost 30 mins, then seems fine for a while than is errattic, then goes completely for 10 minutes again before finally being ok. I suppose different areas of the board are worked on at different times.

Anyway, you have a good nights sleep Karen. I feel better today after 2 iffy nights and a busy weekend with the 2 long drives.

We got a great rate for september on travelozoo (I think?) But we decided to go cheap and do the Beach Towers. BIG mistake, it was a 20 min walk to the mayan area for kids, and when it started raining, a looong walk back to the room, so choose the area where you want to spend the day and stay close to it.

Thanks for that info...I didn't even think about how close things are from where you stay. I heard they had a tram or something to the different areas. Was anything available like that when you were there? We have already booked and paid for two rooms, The Beach Towers and The Royal Towers. We won't ever go to the Beach Towers, but we can all use the suite in the Royal Towers. I know I'm going to have had enough by 3pm and I'm going to want a shower and change of clothes and food and drinks on the terrace overlooking everything. It's probably the only time I'll get to go there. I won't do anymore 4 night cruises and I probably won't cruise with the whole family again...kids are adults now with their own teens. So we might as well enjoy it while we're all there together.:goodvibes

I definetly love to be there with you gals and lads!

Noel, I can´t wait to read about the next day, lol.

:wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

Hi Marilyn, Hi Karen....

Up late/early again.

I had DIS problems too. I posted my last post twice. Just as I finished the first one, they were down and I lost it. I hate when that happens. So I had to re-post.

I'm playing on my new laptop....getting used to the touch pad instead of using a mouse. It's different.

Hi all:)

Off to spend the day with my sister and her kids today :)
:cool1: Probably just spend the day having a good old chinwag (that's gossip in Angelspeak):rotfl2:

I'm going to be a famous artist when I grow up!;) :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I'd love that! I was brought up on football (or soccer as you all call it ;) ) My Dad ran a team and I used to go every week. I used to ahve a season ticket for my favourite team too when I was older. My niece (aged 11) plays in a girls' team, I think they're not so common over here as they seem to be in the US though.

It's always about having fun and having a good attitude! Instill the love of having a good time and being a good sport in those little ones and the athletic ability and skill will come along with time!!

Remember to have them kick on the side of the shoe, not on the laces. Try to have them lead the person with the ball, but not go offside (pass the last defender before the goalie.):thumbsup2

And when all else fails... use the term "Unlucky" a lot!!;)

Karen

Great advice!:thumbsup2

Hi Deb! dd has a new lap top too and I've been playing on it, it's taking me a while to get used to the touch pad too!:rolleyes1

Today I have to take mom for a bone marrow test at 9am then to DD's house at 6pm to do stuffed shells for dinner and cake and presents. Today is her actual birthday, even though we went out to dinner this weekend to celebrate.

Karen, sweet dreams...everything magical....:wizard:

Marilyn, have a great day...are you going to do your hoops today?:surfweb:

Have a lovely day everyone, and look forward to hearing all about your day later on :hippie:

By the way, on the cruise front......we got as far as looking at trying to change our flights so we could do the TransAtlantic on May 12th but no go, so guess it'll have to be a dream after all......:sad2:

Hope your Mum gets on ok today Deb.

Have a lovely evening:thumbsup2

Hi Angel, sounds like a fun day for you with your sister and kids. Enjoy!!!:goodvibes

Don't you feel like giving up on the touch pad and just installing a mouse...sometimes I think it's not worth learning, especially when it does strange things that I'm not used to like highlighting things I didn't want to highlight. Has that happened to you yet? Mine does stuff like that.:confused3 But then I think, I can't let it beat me and I have to read the manual so I know what I'm doing....techno challenged.:rotfl: Definitely NOT a Geek!

:sad2: :sad1: :sad2: Oh how aweful...It could have been a perfect way to return home...so sad you already spent the money on the plane tickets and couldn't change them. That's gotta be heartbreaking. I guess you just have to say, things happen for a reason even if you don't know what it is right now. It'll work out ok. But I feel for you.:guilty: :guilty: :guilty:

Maybe there will be a long exciting cruise in 2009 to book! I have a feeling after our 15 day one next year that anything shorter will be a let down!

Morning all....draggggggging today.
Of course John2 is off on Tuesday's so he and the girls slept in.
I am still a bit shocked, I know people were predicting us to win, but usually when they do it backfires. I am proud of our team but also realize that we probably won't have another team like this for a long while. I am also waiting for Coach Donovan to make his announcement/decision......

congrats gators!!!!

i have been around but trying to keep up with the med cruise is busy work!!!!

i am getting excited! what did you think of the DCL special on sunday....is was great to see all the new footage...

to anyone who watched the other shows...i thought i recognized some DISers but i could not remember their names, specifically in Animal Kingdom...any ideas???
