Isn't this cute? Another thing I stole from my friend geffric (who BTW is on the Eastbound PC cruise).

What shall I have for dinner??????

Our least favorite port was Cozumel. Maybe because it was so crowded. There were a total of 6 cruise ships in port on the day we were there. The water was beautiful and the people were nice. We aren't big drinkers, but if you are right of the pier is a Senor Frogs and a Carlos & Charlies. There is a great sort of mall, that is well developed next to these establishments. We had fun shopping! We had also heard wonderful things about Paradise Beach so we headed out. It was quite a hike in a taxi and I believe we ended up paying $30 roundtrip for the four of us. Once at Paradise Beach, they have lovely grounds and it is designed well. It was $9 a person to use the facilities, which included beach chairs, snorkeling equipment, and floating stuff (can't think of the correct name - brain freeze). It was fun, but small and crowded. The water of the beach was cloudy and the footing underneath found what felt like cement blocks and lot's of large rocks. We stayed a couple hours and headed back. When we go back in October on our next Disney cruise we will try something different.

Beautiful daughters. I am really enjoying reading your TR. popcorn:: popcorn:: popcorn:: I loved Cozumel. We had so much fun at Paradise Beach, but when we were there the Magic was the only ship in town that day.

Well . . .

Today . . . .

Sophia . . . .

Rode Expedition Everest! Twice! During the EMH at AK.

I probably have the only kid that was not afraid of the roller coaster part of the ride, but afraid of the Yeti. She didn't want to ride it a second time until I bribed her a bit - and on the second time she was OK. Too bad I can't post the pic of us riding, but alas, I left the scanner at home!:rotfl2:

Here she is with the Dis Dino at AK

And in this picture if you look waaaaaaay in the back, you will see a green fence where they are constructing the AKL Villas.

After AK, we went to DTD, hit World of Disney, and needless to say, now we are all pooped and ready for bed!

I love looking at photos of Sophie!! I find myself whispering to myself, "that is the cutest child ever".

I am so glad you are have a wonderful vacation!! We were going to ride down to Orlando on Sat, but with everyone being so sick....we not going to.

Of course, I guess your vacation will be ruined when OSU falls to Georgetown on Saturday!! :rotfl2: :rotfl: :rotfl2: :rotfl: :rotfl2: :rotfl: :rotfl2: :rotfl: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

When does everybody have (had) Spring break. Ours is next week, the week before Easter. I always thought that was strange...seems Spring break should be the week after Easter :confused3 :confused3 :confused3

Thank everybody for listening to me the last few days.....I was just crazy!!

Annie has had 3 doses of Meds now and looks like a new person. The doctor said after the 4th dose she should not be contagious anymore. Her fever has been gone all day. Her breathing is back to normal. She is smiling!!

Not sure what I will do with the school.....

I guess I am all by myself....I think I will go off to bed. It has been a long week. I am so glad it is Friday!!

So glad that she is better! :cheer2: Like I said, better living through chemistry!!:cool1:

I would still put a letter together outlining the need for parent chaperones and contingency plans for illness. Just my opinion!:thumbsup2

Our spring break is the first two weeks of April (yes two weeks)!! We're on a modified year round schedule so, we start middle of August, have one week at Thanksgiving, one MONTH at the end of Dec to the end of Jan for Christmas break, two weeks for Easter break and then we're out in the middle of June. I actually like it a lot. The kids like it to. We're able to go on vacation at different times, which is cool.

Maybe shouldn't respond, it may be obvious - Jenna's Spring Break was last week.

I love your schedule!! We start after Labor Day...2 days at Thanksgiving, one week at Christmas and one week in the spring...and then we go to school till almost July!! (one year with the snow...we did stay in school to July). Daniel graduates on June 19th and the girls go till June 23rd this year.

Spring break here (in AZ) is in March. My nephew goes to a private school in Scottsdale and he's on spring break this week. In my town, it was the week of March 12, which was the end of the 3rd quarter. Our schools have one day off on April 6. Last day of school is May 24. First day for next school year will be Aug. 6! Crazy! Glad I'm not tied to the school calendar anymore. I hated starting so early in August. It's HOT then and it's the middle of summer! :beach:

My understanding is that the school calendar has ended up that way because many parents/teachers (primarily at the High School level) wanted the first semester to end by Christmas/Winter break. They didn't like kids having projects, homework, and/or studying to do over the break. Also, didn't like coming back, having a couple of weeks of school, and then having exams, grades due, etc. I can see the point, but it necessitates starting school so early in Aug. to make it work. Another factor was that in order to fit in a fall break (which we never had until a few years ago), it was necessary to start in Aug.

Oh well, doesn't affect me now!:woohoo:

week after Easter for us. Normally we have the week before. But I think I'll like it after, more time to eat chocolate!!! not sure what if anything we will do during our break. I'd like a little get away, but hard to do with the dogs...our housesitter (my nephew) just went away to college in Colorado.

nice pictures, I like seeing all the kids, makes us feel like family friends. :goodvibes

Crazy schedule you have. We start in August. We used to have 2 weeks in spring but we don't anymore. We have 2 weeks at Christmas and 1 week in October but we will be out the first week of June this year so that makes up for the one week they took away.

Evening Kaylee! It's a quiet night tonight. :confused3 Hope nobody else is poorly and hope those that are, Karen and Deb, are feeling better. Have a good evening all. Goodnight.

Thanks Marilyn, I am feeling a bit better today....hopefully, even better tomorrow. Karen, how about you??? Getting better every day???:flower3:

WDW is much different from DL. I have only been to DL once (maybe some others that have done both often could comment). While at DL, I still felt like I was in a city and could go to the parks. WDW to me is more of destination. Once you enter the WDW area, you are surrounded by Mickey and the "real" world is no where to be seen. Even though we live in WA, we go to WDW all the time (1.because we own DVC and as of right now DVC doesn't exist at DL 2. becuse the weather is usually better 3. plane tickets are about the same to LA and MCO and 4. it feels more like an escape from reality with so many more options...you could spend days just going through all of the different resorts). Those are just my opinions on the difference. Doesn't WDW cover the same amount of area as Maryland or something like that? Anyone remember that fact?

Being an East Coast girl, in addition to being a Champagne Girl, I have only been to World. I'm looking forward to going to Land for the first time during the week after this cruise. Someone previously wrote about DL having and Planning number to call and WDW does not. I'm not familiar with this at all. Can someone please explain? Should I call the DL Planner to do Land for the first time after cruise? What do they do for you?:confused3

We're off the week after Easter.:confused3

I would love a modified schedule were we have a week off in October, (we don't have any days off in October) 3 weeks at christmas, maybe 1 to 2 weeks in early March and a week after Easter. I've always thought that this would be great in terms of revitalizing teachers and students and would help with planning vacations that wouldn't interfere with the school year (too much!):thumbsup2
