I went on a 10 hour shopping marathon yesterday, but didn't make out so well I did buy a pant suit, a few new tops and a little black dress, nothing fancy but thought it would be great for this cruise, but my main objective for this shopping trip was to find a dress for my daughter's wedding in May. I failed miserably I only have 2 months left, what am I going to do??? I do have wonderful friends who have now offered to take me out of town to look ("now" being after I showed up for work today looking frazzled and stressed and panicked LOL) . I only get one day off work a week so that means only 8 more shopping days! I know every bride has at least one horror story from their special day...but I'm really hoping my daughter's story isn't about how her mother showed up for her wedding in her great "cruisewear" !

Now for the northern California report....in the high 70's today, all the windows opened to air out the house and predicted to be 80 over the weekend.

well looks like the plans are being made.

My mom turns 80 this year, my sister and I asked her what she wanted to do for her bday it morphed into where do you want to go and that turned into a girls trip to China.

Mom JoAnne, sister #3 Leeanna, me (sister #4)Nan, granddaughter #1 Kristen(daughter of sister #1) granddaughter #2 Molly (daughter of #4, mine)

So it looks like we will go for a 15 day tour leaving around June 20th and then tack on 2-4 more days in Hong Kong (you guess it, Disney Hong Kong)

Might have DH & Wilson come over for that part. We'll check on the $ as we get closer to the date.

that sounds like a fantastic holiday! DH has been to Hong Kong, he worked there for a while some time ago. I'm very jealous and would love to go one day

They sound just lovely. Don't the captains rotate on a fixed schedule? We had Captain Thord on our first two cruises on DCL. Wonder if anyone knows what their schedule might be?

We've had Captain Tom both times we've sailed...he doesn't seem to be the most personable individual on the planet...guess that wasn't a requirement...
he signes autographs in the shop and shakes hands and poses for pictures, but just seems bored with the whole "Meet and Greet" like he's needed elsewhere and missing something important on the Bridge!

Not a chance on the planet we could ever compete with the EB thread!! They are record holding posters!! I can not even imagine the time I would have to spend over there chatting to keep up!!

I bounce over there every now and then to lurk...just crazy...

White Merlot is very similar to White Zinfandel. It is made by not leaving the grabes on the skins (sur lie). And letting it ferment with a slightly higher residual sugar.

Some of these are not as sweet as a White Zinfandel and can be a very refreshing summer wine.

They are usually not very expensive either.

Karen, telling you more about wine than you probably wanted to know...

I live by five vineyards, and still know nothing about wine! I did the wine tasting on The Magic with a friend and didn't learn a darned thing. I have not developed a taste for red wine...I like rieslings...I went to a vineyard last weekend and bought 11 bottles of wine, but I only bought them for the labels. One of my favorite artists contributed his work for the winery and we had to buy the bottles with his artwork.

Just watched a new show with Jeff Goldblum, (I love Jeff Goldblum!!)

It's called Raines and it has a great storyline about a cop that "sees dead people". But very well written. I really liked. I had DVR'ed it (Tivo for Directv) and it was surprisingly good!

Karen, I always want to know more about wines. DH and I had our first date at a wine tasting in Southampton Long Island. And I married him. We both love wine. His tastes vary from sweet to dry. My taste is pure pucker. I grew up eating greek food and love lemon. As a child, I used to eat them like oranges. So my taste for wine is super dry to pure pucker. I love it when you almost think you didn't drink it coz it wasn't wet. I would love to do a case, but I would like a mix, if that's ok? I would have to let DH pm you to get specific. He knows wine and he knows what I like and then we could also mix in some sweets. He loves Reislings. I never drink them, too sweet for me. We both love red and white and I LOVE champagne. White Star is my favorite. Let me know if a mix is ok with you and I'll have DH PM you soon.

Yeah - Friday!! Whoo hoo!! We are heading out shopping tonight to get a new comforter for our new mattress we are getting tomorrow!! I am so psyched!!
It started pouring last night around 11, so this morning was very wet out. Not sure what it's like outside as my office does not have a window!

Glad to hear you like 'our' new show! I watched part of it on the NBC feed we got earlier, but didn't see the whole episode.

Oh, and as we were speaking of HD TV the other day....ours is the first local TV station in Phoenix to broadcast our news in HiDef. Really big deal (really big expense!). I don't think there are even that many in the country yet (other than the network O&O's...owned and operated).

As long as I'm bragging.....we had a GREAT Feburary ratings period too! Hmmmmm.....wonder if they can manage to come up with raises over 3% this year.....
