Glad to hear you like 'our' new show! I watched part of it on the NBC feed we got earlier, but didn't see the whole episode.

Oh, and as we were speaking of HD TV the other day....ours is the first local TV station in Phoenix to broadcast our news in HiDef. Really big deal (really big expense!). I don't think there are even that many in the country yet (other than the network O&O's...owned and operated).

As long as I'm bragging.....we had a GREAT Feburary ratings period too! Hmmmmm.....wonder if they can manage to come up with raises over 3% this year.....

Yep, the local NBC affiliate. We're owned by Gannett, a giant news/media corporation and overall a great company to work for. EXCEPT they make you wait till you've been with the company 30 years to get five weeks vacation!!!!!! You get 4 weeks at 10 years then have to wait FOREVER for that 5th week. I'm almost there....been with the company 27 1/2 years. Might be able to squeeze in a couple of years with 5 weeks vacation before they kick me out!

Hi Gang! Noel and I are working on a master DIS list for our sailing. We're doing this to ensure that those of you who'd like to get little "goodies" from your DIS friends, actually will get them. So, the plan is I'll compile the list and Noel will bring it with her (on her computer) to the ship. If you have a cabin change once onboard (or prior), you'll leave her a voice mail in her stateroom with the new cabin number, so she'll maintain the list from that point on. She'll also have a printer so that when the time comes for delivery, those doing the delivery can actually get the items to you.

If you'd like to partipate, please PM me with your first and last name and cabin number. If you don't know your cabin number, indicate so and we'll note it. Also please indicate the names of those in your cabin in case anyone is preparing personalized gifts or wanting to give enough gifts for all those in your cabin. This list will NOT be published anywhere public...it will be on my computer and Noels and of course those who are doing the gift delivering will have a copy. And again, this is only for those who'd like particpate in the DIS gift delivery and receipt program (gotta make it official)!

Hi all! I am so behind so I apologize if this has already been mentioned. But I think we should indicate on the list who has fish extenders as well - some of the groups individuals may decide to give their gifts only to those with fish extenders and not everyone on the list.

Good job on post 9000 guys! I couldn't figure out how I missed TEN pages between bedtime and this morning!

I don't have fish extenders for our group yet, but I'm going to try to make a couple over the summer.. so they may be LAME extenders, but they'll be there!

I'd like to get in on buying items for the extenders too, but I haven't joined a group. As you can see, I'm a little behind on the thread!

Grey's Anatomy last night...I enjoyed it and thought it was actually a pretty good episode. Not too sure where the Izzy/George thing is going to go though, that was a shocker to me. Personally, I could just sit and watch McDreamy all night. It does crack me up because he played such a geek in his younger days (movies like Can't Buy Me Love) and here he is now a total stud in the media's eyes!

Well, I am off to get DD ready for school and then hit the gym for a few hours. Will catch you all later today...it is laundry day again at my house so I am sure I will be instead of

Wow-now that's a huge task....let's open it up to the group and see what their suggestion/input is. Lovely group....what do you all think is an efficient way to handle this...Noel's list had something like 165 lines on it (lotta people).

As a starting point a thought I have is perhaps, if Carol kept a record of everyone she's made fish extenders for, we could see who all is on that?

Yes, I am keeping a record of who is requesting Fish Extenders but that isn't going to be very accurate since a lot of people have them from other cruises, have ordered them off of ebay or are making their own. You are welcome to what I have though. I have also been keeping email addresses from those that have paid by PayPal.

Yes, it is sold out but things will probably open up once the point chart comes out and final payments are due. That is when people have to make their final decisions.

I would be happy to volunteer as your assistant. I could PM everyone on John's postings list. It's no problem. Would that help you?

I'd definately wait till AFTER 2/8/08 before trying to hunt down the folks who haven't been added to the list(s) in the meantime. Hopefully, some folks who have to cancel will post on the thread. I'm also betting some lurkers won't post UNTIL 2/8/08.

I agree, I wouldn't start worrying about who is definitely going now because a lot will change when the point charts come out and final payments are due. I know that Mommaluvsdis, who is on our lists, said she had to cancel and now is going to try and join us again if and when things open up, so it might be a good thing to start with what you have and take them off as needed. Also, just remember some of the people who have posted on our thread are not on this cruise. Hygiene99 is one of them, as is Captain Crash.

After hearing what other countries get for vacation time I have always said that the US is stingy with theirs. Now that I am retired I can vacation any time.

Grey's Anatomy last night...I enjoyed it and thought it was actually a pretty good episode. Not too sure where the Izzy/George thing is going to go though, that was a shocker to me. Deb, are you Greek?

Yes I am very Greek...mom is a purebred and dad is a mix, but mom ruled the roost so we did everything Greek growing up. The foods, the traditions, the Holidays and Church with my grandmother. The only thing I can't do is speak the language. I can only say two phrases and I wouldn't even attempt to spell them so I'll save them for meeting in person.

I'm very proud to be Greek and I'm waiting for the new DC boats to add Greece and the Greek Islands to their med itineraries so I can go. My brother was there once on Greek Easter and he said everyone knew he was Greek and he had a blast. Everyone partying and cooking lamb in the streets...I can't wait to go, but only with DCL.

Yeah - Friday!! Whoo hoo!! We are heading out shopping tonight to get a new comforter for our new mattress we are getting tomorrow!! I am so psyched!!
It started pouring last night around 11, so this morning was very wet out. Not sure what it's like outside as my office does not have a window!

YES, YES, YES....me and DH are meeting Lucy and Bob - lwilliam - for dinner and drinks on Saturday night, providing we don't get too much snow and the roads are safe to travel. My first dismeet and I'm so excited!

Hey, my DISfriends, Do NOT tell me about Gray's Anatomy....I watch it Friday nights.....I quickly skipped all threads referring to last night's show....it has become my new favorite show (only started watching it 2 months ago)....
the 3-parter was quite disturbing, though.

Update on my friend - she is able to do the IVF before the Chemo starts on April 1. So she will start to get hormone shots next week. Makes me a little scared, but by doing this it will hopefully get her focused then on fighting the cancer (NHL). She has had two weeks of radiation already. The treatments will go until Oct. Her doctor gave her off until Dec, so she hopes to go back to teaching in Jan 08. Thanks for all the positive thoughts. I will see her tonight.

My sister has suprised me with an all paid Maui trip over Memorial Day week-end - four nights! Can't wait - she has lots of miles with work so we will travel first class and have a Mai Tai on the way! Actually, not a big fan of Mai Tai - maybe Champange! What do I care - I'll have a domestic beer. Four nights with no guitar lessons, homework, work....HEAVEN

I have exciting plans for the weekend too! It's Mothers Day on Sunday here in the UK (I'm sad that dd is away on her trip for that ) so tomorrow my sister and I have planned to a surprise for our Mum. ....

We're meeting her in London and taking her to Harrods for afternoon tea! I hope she likes it....DH and I did it last month and had a fab time, with champagne as well. The Georgian tea rooms are beautifl at harrods and the service was very freindly..not at all snooty!
