They clip on, but the clasp overlaps a tiny bit. We wore them 24 hours per day and they were really tough. I think Ken has used them for 4 different cruises, thousands of people.

Sounds good! :thumbsup2

I'm also going to be trying to work my business trip around the April DIS Meet. I'll let you know as soon as I'm 'official'

.......time to hit the shower--Chili's is calling (an so is WORK).....

I missed the post on the lanyards...is this something we are ordering individually or is someone organizing and we are sending the money to them?

We are applying to 2 different schools for K. Both schools have a 2 hour play period where they go to different stations and do a variety of gross motor skills, fine motor skills and comprehension, interaction with other kids, verbal, nonverbal testing. The school we want to get into does a 30 min. individual exam in addition to the 2 hour play. She's a very bright kid at 4.5 she is reading on a 2nd grade level, so we're trying to get into a bright and gifted school. BUT, there are 120-150 applicants for about 22 openings. Fortunately, we teach drug ed as visiting lecturers at both schools which will help. We also had some pretty powerful recommendations from headmasters to headmasters to help too. It's a dog eat dog world of Kindergarten here. As you can see she didn't get her brightness from me... since I can't spell Kindergarden!
I see! Good for your daughter to be so far ahead! Nice! :goodvibes I'm sure you'll get her in where you want to. :thumbsup2

This sounds daunting! Do let us know what happens. I'm glad you got him there immediately.

:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: YOu guys sure have been through a lot in this past year. Hope the Dr calls back soon. Prayers go out to you too/two. Keep us informed and let us know if there is anything we can do.
Thanks. Just so many problems for him in such a short time. :sad2:

We did this with Brent when he was applying for prek-3's. It was nerve racking waiting for the results. I was surprised at how many did not get in to the school. They had 6 testing days and about 600 kids for 30 places.

Think that was Deb. I find it easier to call Deb Deb and you Deborah!!!

We have a few Lisa's and I get a bit lost there.

well, when you meet everybody IRL, if in doubt just call them Lisa;) chances are you'll be right:rotfl:

So I'm sitting here waiting for Tyler's pediatrician to call me back about whether she wants to see him for his tingling hands & feet or if we should go straight to the neurologist and see if he thinks it's related to the seizure disorder. We've never seen any signs of seizures, but maybe this is the start....I have no idea, but am sure the docs will have answers for me.

Oh Holly you need some :grouphug: as you face more worry. At least you are on to this quickly.

I'm confused about the lanyards too as I think we have had a couple of different pictures posted, one green, one red. Both were great.

Yes, Lisa or John should get a reply from someone!!!:lmao:

Wow! We just don't have that around here. No preschools, except ones that are a couple hours a day for 2-3 days a week, so that's just not doable for most people who work all day. And for K, you just sign up and get a letter telling you when school starts. No testing. BUT I suppose that varies by school district because in Kalamazoo, MI (where I'm from) Tyler's cousins all had to have an evaluation to see if they were ready for K. Not in Lansing though. :guilty:

Thanks Marilyn. When we started this whole journey trying to figure out what's the root of his behavioral and other problems, the pediatrician had an EEG done to see what's going on in his brain. It was an abnormal reading, and when we met with the neurologist, he told us it indicates a seizure disorder which requires further monitoring. He told us various things to look for which would indicate a seizure (things I'd never imagined would be seizure related) and he has another EEG a few days before the cruise to see if the activity has increased, but in the meantime he told us to come back right away if we see anything. I'm just not sure if this is something related, so we'll see what they say. :guilty:

Here's what I heard from the group from last year about the MCO Hyatt:

The Hyatt has a nice lounge area to the right of the registration desk. It's the same area that people will meet in to get on the DCL buses.

OK, we had one of these rooms and it was a disaster (cabin 6573) The closet was shallow, so we couldn't fit a hanger sideways. The hangers are forward with limited hanging room. They weren't big enought to fit our luggage into and we were 3 on a 35 day vacation. It was a nightmare. We asked every day for 11 days for another room, but it was sold out. :scared1: Call first on 2/10 after the final payments are due.

What Cat was 6573 Kelly? I did ask the agent about the closet and she told me it was the same as the rest of the Cat 9s but the only difference was there was no niche so there was no room for the steamer trunk. I'll have to email my friend who had 2612 and ask about the closet, just to be sure. I did email DCL yesterday to share my displeasure about it not being disclosed in advance, I'll be curious to hear their response! Of course, it's not a deal breaker for us, just puts a kink in things!

You certainly have had your hands full lately! :grouphug:

oh Holly, I can't begin to imagine, I am sure this is a worry and a stress for you. Poor Tyler, I hope you are able to get some better answers soon.

I have more bad news for everyone.....not going to be able to do any high teas as a group. I faxed the lists to DCL and they called me today. It seems that tea time is only at 3pm and it's a small set up of tables of four. There is no private dining room for tea. So if we want to do it, we have to book it along with other palo ressies and only up to 4 people each.

Do we want to give up on the whole idea of doing it together? and just book for ourselves? or do we want to get say 10 people to book for tables of four all on the same day? This is what DCL said we should do.

Let me know what everyone thinks.

Hope you can join the get together.

How was your Colorado holiday?

Very relaxing. (Well, apart from the flights either end - if only there was an easier way to travel.)
It had been almost 8 months since we'd had a break, not even a long weekend, and a difficult time too. So we really chilled out and enjoyed doing very little.

I do wish we could live in Colorado.

Still, in 5 weeks time we'll be at WL, although only for a week unfortunately.

Did you have a good Christmas and New Year? I'm desperately trying to keep up with the thread each day, no chance of catching up on the 300+ pages I missed while we were away! :scared:

Thanks. I literally feel like I could snap in half and break if one more thing happens. You have no idea how much I need this vacation (well, actually you all do know).
