OK, well, two hours of speed reading later I'm finally caught up. I logged off to do several gruelling hours of statistics homework and found over 30 pages this morning... that went straight through the night. Whew!
So, goodmorning everyone! Well, tomorrow is my DD4 entrance exam for Kindergarden and the child who is never sick... is sick! We've been waiting for 5 months for this day to come and now she's sick. I can't believe it.
Since we are at 5 different resorts, I called DTD to have them make some recommendations for us to have a dismeet party on Friday 5/9/08. Also, trying OKW hospitality house to have a party. I'll let you know later today. If we had a one bedroom I would have it, but we only have a studio.
We can also meet at 5/8/08 at 5:00pm in Epcot for a visit and the Tokens concert at 5:45pm.
Kelly,
My parents are also from the farms in OK. My Mom came out when she was 6...1933. My Dad's Mom (Grandma) came away from the farm of 8 girls, before my father was born. Good old Oakie stock here. My parents grew up in Pasadena, moved to San Jose in 1958. I'm a native of San Jose, California. We live in the house I grew up in. We bought it from my parents in '98. I've watched California grow into the state it is. Not so great from many views, but also a hard place to leave when you are entrenched with real estate, jobs and school for the kids. Northern Cal is so different from Southern Cal in my minds eye.
Wow, great story! I think there were a lot of farm folks who migrated here back in the 30's. You're right, it is like two different states when it comes to terrain and weather, separate, but equally beautiful!
Bummer, these dates don't work for us. We are on school vacation the week of April 7-12. Anyone want to meet up in Dland during that time?
Yes, we will come and meet you.
Regarding car seats: we have strict laws out here about car seats, so do be prepared. We took a booster with us on the big Med cruise and then left it on the ship for anyone who wanted to use it for excursions.
Am I the only one that may be able to go on Sunday, 3/16/08?
there are a few going to both!
Does anyone request a certain server?
Yes, but I can't tell you who he is because we are in love with him - we've had him on the 05 Mex. and the Med.
Looking forward to meeting you. Oh yes, I emailed to
DCL for two an interpreters which we had them last Cruise at Med. Brian and Jennifer as they were brilliant. But DCL emailed and said cannot guarantee to have them. So we wait and see but we don't mind different interpeter people anyway. We had Tara and Tony last two years ago as they were brilliant too. I managed keep touch with Tara and I told her watch this space!! I think DCL provides us very good like an interpreter, minicom in room, flashing light & door bell too!! We cannot believe that when we were on frist time at Wonder Cruise. Scottishwee35
On the Med cruise (as you know) there was more applause for the interpreters than the show every night. They were so much fun - they were like rock stars!
I was thinking of taking a later flight on the day we arrive in LA, checking my baggage at LAX then taking a taxi somewhere to sightsee. I never knew you couldn't check your baggage until 4 hrs before your flight, so guess I'll be trying to get an earlier flight. I would have hated to find this out at the airport!Kathe
NO, NO, NO, NO. In CA it will cost you $50 to go to the end of the street. Don't take a taxi anywhere but a destination.
OK, all you
HYATT MCO PEOPLE where are WE having dinner the night before the cruise? I don't even remember what's available in the airport and has anyone eaten at the Hyatt's restaurant? I get in 5PMish, I think, and will wait several hours for more folks to show up. So, suggestions???
I emailed the Med cruisers who had a big dismeet there last year, I'll let you know where they met.
I just got off the phone with DCL and they are doing staggered dining times for anyone who was wondering. Since we're late dining I asked for the times and they're 8, 8:15 and 8:30.
This worked well last year.
Ok, so here's a BIG bummer...when we sailed the magic last our friends had 2612 and 2610 and those rooms did not have steamer trunk because there's not a niche in the room for it (don't know why). So, this sailing we're in 2112 and I asked the agent if the room was configured the same as 2612 and she checked...sure enough...it is configured the same and it does not have a steamer trunk. How will we make it for two weeks without a steamer trunk!?!? UGH! I'm so not happy about that! Anyone got suggestions on a good plan for where we're going to put all our clothes for 4 people, aside from the small closet??
OK, we had one of these rooms and it was a disaster (cabin 6573) The closet was shallow, so we couldn't fit a hanger sideways. The hangers are forward with limited hanging room. They weren't big enought to fit our luggage into and we were 3 on a 35 day vacation. It was a nightmare. We asked every day for 11 days for another room, but it was sold out.

Call first on 2/10 after the final payments are due.
I don't know who I am sitting with, I think I put in to be at at table with others in this group...so I'm ok with 8pm. I had 8:30 on med and it was too late. Not for eating, but we were never done by 10 and I missed all the deck parties and games. Also, I might be down in Ontario on the 19th for an auction at the Webb School. So, is it ok if I come down to anaheim just to meet everyone. I can only stay for an hour or so as I beleive I have to be back in ontario by 7pm at the latest. It's funny, cause I think I'll be down at DL on the 6th of march for a cheer competition. So, if anyone is around that weekend and wants to say Hi...I'll love to meet and I'll confirm as soon as I have my ressie.S
We may be able to come over that week.
I'm a big ebay seller.
Seems like none of the dates work for me either. Our school is out from March 21st until March 30th. Mini Dis meet in
Disneyland during those times would work for me.
we may be able to do this one too.
Confession time:
I was so envious of the first panama canal and the first med cruise as they both had joey fatone on the ship for entertainment. I have been a fan of his for over 10 years. And while he is way to young and no brad pitt. He's my type of guy! I'd love to have him be the entertainment for this trip! It would make my day to have a picture with him! Sad to admit how many nsync concerts I went to....I'm pathetic I know! ha Steph
He was very nice, I did the pasta making excursion and ended up standing with his family. We have a picture of us making pasta in Olbia.
Julie -- I don't think anyone will notice. When we reached various ports on the 2005 PC cruise, performers would get on and off. They would board, perform for one or two nights, then disembark at the next port -- with dirty laundry. Only people like Ducky Williams stayed onboard for the entire cruise. If my MIL would bring us clean clothes, I'd take up the offer. Sure beats doing laundry. Woody
True, true...
California actually has the most diversity of any state. In all ways. So every region is different. Soarin' shows it well.
I agree!
