Hi all..finally had a chance to peek at the boards. While away visiting my brother in Peru Jean-marc had a terrible fall. While flying him back to Canada he developed Compartment Syndrome (muscle crush injury)..three surgeries later they saved his leg.TRIP INSURANCE EVERYONE!!!! Can anyone point me in the right spot..rollcall? buy lanyards?I would love to help pay for the lanyards..looks like we are in for a wonderful cruise..sharon

Sorry to hear about that!! Check out page one of this thread for info and there's also another website which you'll get a PM about from AuntyBrat (Laura), I believe.

Welcome!

I did it. (No, I didn't bedazzle my spanxx). I actually exercised. Hate it. All my muscles feel like jello right now. Please tell me this will pay off someday.:)

I forgot all about the Lose Before You Cruise thread on the Ship of Thieves site. Maybe before John goes to all the trouble of setting up a new thread on the DIS, he could just add the info to that thread since it is already set up. Sounds like a good idea to me. :thumbsup2

Huh?????????:headache:

No really, good plan!

Karen, wife of been2marceline

Which part made you :headache: ??? The edible treats or the teams?

Hopefully not the teams! Regarding the fish extenders and giving mail - if PJPoohbear and Laura are up for it, we could put the teams on the website? I will take charge of a team! I'd like Team 6 if possible (May 16, 6th day) - it is my 40th birthday! What do you guys think? This could be fun! Who wants to be on my team??? Any one else want to take lead
on a day?

To clarify, if I am in charge of team 6 (May 16), I would have a few others on the board on my team as well. We would PM each other ideas, see if between us we can cover the costs, and if we come up with a Big Idea  we will ask bystanders on the board to contribute. Otherwise, our team covers the costs for the gifts that day. If we have 6 people in a team, each "prize" costing say $.50, and we have say 200 individuals, it would be less than $20/family. More people in each team, less cost or more expensive mail. And everyone commits to get SMALL things or things that will easily pack (or you can eat!). And not everyone has to be on a team - you can just sit back and get mail!

Up for it all?
Lisa

Way to go exercising! It will pay off! It makes us healthy and strong - at least that is what I'm trying to convince myself after a day of skiing and my calves KILLING me!!!

Snow in Tahoe - everywhere! Beautiful day - sitting in the cabin with the fire on, no skiing today - just hot chocolate and catching up!

Now I am so confused!!! Not hard to do I might add.

Just think of those well toned calves you are going to have!!!

I have been to a serious toning class this morning(tums), so I think I will be in pain tomorrow.:scared: On Wednesday I did the first of 6(weekly) classes in hula hooping! We have these big ones from the US and it is great, but some deep muscles ache from standing correctly etc. I'll let you know how it goes and if I ever get a waist! At least there wasn't much:yay: this week.

I will join in the weight loss over on the ship of thieves website though I don't weigh myself, so can't officially join a competition. I do know where I want to be clothes wise and approximately the weight I need to lose.

Lisa,
This sound like heaven. Next to being on the Magic, what better way to spend a day. :cloud9:
I have rain and work her in SB.

I say you know your stuff! Mickey is there, :cloud9:. Let me know details, will add to the site, it is all listed as TBA right now, lol.

Let's plan on the having the Dis Board Pirate Group photo on Pirate Night. Meet promptly at 7:45 p.m. in the atrium. We will have Shutters take photo at 7:55 p.m. DCL and guest services will be very prompt on the time because photos start up at 8 p.m. again with Mickey (if they stick to the same schedule), so I will arrange for Mickey to come out five minutes early. We will work with Shutters for 10 minutes getting everyone positioned in the picture and then at the last minute Pirate Mickey (or another character in pirate attire) will just show up, step into the picture for a few quick minutes and be on their way. NO INDIVIDUAL PICTURES WITH CHARACTER DURING GROUP PHOTO! Thanks!

Whew . . .

Got home from my school board meeting at 10:30!

Sounds like some of the marathon school board meetings we have had here in the past two years. It has calmed down this year, but in the past two years, we had a budget crisis (doesn't everyone?), closed two elementary schools (including ours :sad1: ), and "accepted the resignation" of our superintendent. I hope you aren't having to deal with too much trauma and drama. That can be one mighty stressful position to hold.

Now I will have to get some pirate gear!pirate:  Can't let the side down!

Thanks Linda.

So now, it appears that Jeannine and I really will be going on the East Bound Med Repo cruise without our teens!! We are waiting for final pricing info but it looks like we will be on our way!!! So I guess God really doesn't close a door without opening a window!!:rotfl:

Disboards seem to attract the cream of the crop when it comes to outstanding human beings!!

Laura

I totally agree! Glad to have you on the EB! Our best friends we met on a Disney Cruise and we have all cruised together and had get togethers throughout the last couple of years. We have a blast together!

We spent four days in Cadiz. You'll love it. It can get very hot in May, and many shops close midday for a couple of hours.

What do I NOT want to miss?

I really like this idea. It is hard to come up with all the different ideas, and how much stuff do you really want to haul back home?

As far as the names and the cabin numbers are concerned, I think that is one of the things Linda (Seaulater) puts in the mini Navigator. Is that right, Linda? How she manages that, I haven't a clue. :confused3 Much more organized than I.

Yes, I will put everyone's names and stateroom numbers in the mini navigators. Hopefully, someone will be keeping a roster of this information and can email it to me so I can add easily at the last minute.

Each stateroom on the roster will receive a mini-navigator as their sailaway gift from me. I do these at the last minute, so hopefully there are very few changes once on board. However, if there are, what we have done in the past is have a "hall monitor" on each floor. What they do is have a board outside their stateroom and they list any stateroom changes and/or changes or updates for activities that happen once we are on board.

Also, in the past, I have been able to use the voice mail system with the help of a CM I know and send out a voice mail to the diser's on board if I have their staterooms for major changes to our list of activities.

Okay, that's my update!

I think it sounds like a great solution. Everyone just needs to remember that you don't have to participate (but you will still receive if you are on the roster, because the giving is the funnest part for most of us.:) ). I think the :headache: came from trying to sort through all the good ideas that have been flying around here lately. Too hard to sort out and too much, too soon for some of us. Sounds like you have a plan for organizing, which is just what we need to cure our :headache: . Are you willing to organize the teams? People can pm you if they want to head-up or join a team?

You totally rock! :cool1: This will be great. It should solve the problem of "losing" some of our group and not being able to deliver mail, etc. if there are cabin changes and upgrades.

I want to see everyone's fabulous faces. If you haven't posted your photos on PJ's website, please do so. This is a closed site, so only fellow cruisers can see the photos. If you don't have the password, pm PJ or Laura. It's been fun to see everybody who has already posted pix, but I know we're still missing tons of folks. Of course, after we Lose Before U Cruise, we will all need to post new photos, or we won't recognize each other. :thumbsup2

Yes, I can organize it! I think the key to it all is flexibility - if someone wants to do something on their own - let them do it! If someone wants to take charge of a day, great. But no pressure to anyone to do anything. I was suggesting teams just so the cost will be lower and we can have an element of surprise with what ends up in your fish mail!

If people can email me if 1) they like to take lead of a day or 2) they'd like to be on a team and I can organize it; then I will PM PJPoohbear with updates for the website.

Sound good? And if someone else is just DYING to take this over, please push me aside!

I can give updates - like if we need someone take charge of a day or need more people on a team.

So no more :headache: I hope !! This is going to be fun! :woohoo:

Good luck getting someone to take over. ;) I'm sending you a pm.

Hi All we're back from our quickie Dland vacation. It was good, nice weather, not too crowded (on the last day) our little guy got a bug of some sort so we are trying to get him heathly, as his bday party is tomorrow.

I'm headed back to read the 36 pages I missed...see ya later today,

Nan
