I am praying now for Lisa's health. What hospital is she in?

ps: Today is DH's b'day

Happy bday to him too! Great company to be in :-)
You made me laugh with your post....thanks, I needed that.

Not sure the name of the hospital, but it's in Columbia, MD. I'm stressing a bit right now - waiting for more news.

Hi all! Somewhat caught up although might have missed a post here or there. I am SO excited DCL finally fixed my OBC/discount disaster for this cruise. YEAH! Such a relief.
We are in the car heading to Tahoe for ski week. Was able to leave work early so hope to beat the traffic. As we passed over the Bay Bridge (in Northern Ca) my 4 yr old is confident he saw the Mickey ship. I am so jealous of all of you that have a trip planned before this one. I just don't know if I can wait!

I spent an extra few hours at SJC this morning because of the fog. My SWA flight which was suppose to depart at 8:05 AM didn't leave until 10:30 AM. I have been gambling all day and am about $5K and 2 1099's ahead. Got to pay for this cruise!! We will be skiing at Squaw over the weekend. DH flies in 10PM tonight so we go to Squaw in AM. Hate the drive in winter!!

Hi again...had to share my news :-)

Sydney Marie was born at 711pm today the 16th of February :cool1: :cool1: :yay: :woohoo: :cheer2: :dance3: (can you tell I'm happy??)

My mom (dgrandma :rotfl: ) doesn't remember the details - she thinks 6lbs ?oz, no clue about length......doesn't my mom know I NEED TO KNOW this stuff???

On the downside - my sister's in surgery...they may have to do a historectomy (or how ever you spell it). Not sure of the details (sucks not being in MD for this). Would appreciate any/all prayers for her (her name is Lisa).

Can't remember right now who posted the ? about the med repo, Alaskan, and our repo cruise....but if I could swing it I WOULD!!!

Congrats to your sister on her new baby daughter!! Sorry to hear about her hystererctomy. Hope all else goes well and that she is home soon.

Did anyone have the REAS on the last Repo? If so, do you remember what the cost was? Was it the same as the 7 night?

No, it does not have Mickey on it. He would kill me if I got him a Mickey watch. He already thinks I am totally crazy anyway.

Tag is a divers watch, on the scale of Rolex. He has wanted one for a very long time, but I could never justify it. But getting it in Nassua saved a lot.

I stayed on the ship in Nassua...except to shop for the watch. I loved the empty ship...and I rested. I really needed the rest.

I have several Mickey watches - but keep looking for a "perfect" one. I want a traditional one with the Mickey arms that move, but not cheap. I have had trouble finding one that I really like. Most of the non-cheap ones (my everday watch is a Citizen Eco-drive) like the Citizen ones just have Mickey on them, but not the moving arms. I also want it to be fairly waterproof for swimming - as I don't like to take it off at the pool. If anyone finds one like that, let me know!

Wow. Sounds like you had it worse than my son does. So far, the dr. doesn't want to go with the allergy shots, thank goodness. His allergies are very much under control with his medication. His pediatrician finally referred us to an allergist just this month because we've been having to give DS his meds daily whereas it used to be just a seasonal thing. I knew something was up and was just hoping it wasn't the cats. DS9 is super-sad the cats can't sleep with him anymore (the boys share a room). He'll be devastated if we have to find a new home for our kitties. :sad1: I'm glad to hear you are allergy-free now. Hoping that DS will grow out of it as well. He's had eczema since birth, and now allergies. We are trying to avoid the asthma, which as you probably know, comes hand-in-hand with the previous two maladies much of the time. Thanks for the support.

I too have had allergies my whole life. I think the Midwest is probably a terrible place to live if you have them. I tried the shots - and maybe it was my inconsistency with them that did not work. Never seemed to help. All I ended up with was a big bump on my arm every time I got one that got all warm!

These days I am just used to being stuffed up most of the time. Claritin doesn't help. Zyrtec makes me nutty (I don't even drink coffee often) and gives me funny dreams. Flonase seems to help a bit if I do it regularly. I usually don't do much until the "heavy" spring/fall season.

Wow, I have been lurking on the EB thread for about 15 minutes, and they are talking about sizes of their weapons (they're pirates, after all)pirate: and booze and whatnot. They can't shut up!:rotfl: It's great though, they did 100 posts in about 45 minutes. That's just nutty. I'm lurking, 'cause I'm going for post number 23553. We'll see if I can sneek in there.

When they were in chat, I called them "Captain Jack's New Position Cruise"

Going over to chat now to see if anyone is there tonight . . .

Yes, people joke that it is interesting to meet someone in my profession who is not 'humor impared' :lmao: :lmao:

No one over in chat . . .

Kim, let's not tell Laura our earlier comments on accountants . . .

Ok, I have been playing with the idea of doing the Med repo in May because the rates are sooooo cheap, but the airfare was horrible. Well, the prices have dropped and what it comes down to, is that for $2300 including the cruise, airfare and tips my girlfriend and I could do a cat 12 on the Med repo!!! Am I crazy? I can get the vacation time and do my Alaska cruise at the end of June too. What do you think? :confused3

:thumbsup2

Sounds good to me. Wish I could go.

OMGosh - so you are leaving again in 90 days? How are you dealing with the airfare. My GF is a TA and we were looking at it and could afford the cruise, but not the airfare!!

Laura

That is why we canceled and booked this one. Airfare was as much as the cruise, and then there were excursions! :scared:

We are the only local agency that accepts applications for Passports...and every third call we get is something-or-other to do with Passports. If you haven't gotten them by now folks... run, don't walk to your local application accepting agency and go get them done. $700.00 - eeek :scared1:

I need to get mine renewed. It expires in May 2008. DD is fine, DH expires in June 2008. I am pretty sure I don't have to leave the country until June. Should I just renew now? I have read I can do it all by mail, is that correct?

Thanks!

Kim

Is that $2300 each, or $2300 for both?

Why 23553? You know they are getting very close to 25,000. It would okay for me to get 25,000 as I am on the cruise. But it would kill the rest of them for one of you to get it!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

umm been there done that. Too many friends on that thread!

what about accountants?

Well V, let me rephrase that to "auditors" not exactly our favorite people. We have them at our office right now, and they keep asking me for stuff that drives me NUTS!

For those that don't have passports yet, this was our experience today. We have been reluctant to take Jenna out of class for any reason since we received our little nasty letter a few months ago. Today, we took of advantage of her not having school and went to get our passports. We want them for our trip to Belize and Honduras in four weeks (yes we had to pay to have them expedited).

We waited in line for 2 1/2 hours!!! Trust me, with a four and seven year old, this was painful. We had preprinted all our documents off the internet, were very organized with all other documentation we needed also. After our wait, it then took another 45 minutes in the little room! The guy that was helping us said it has been like this for months and is only getting worse. Well, at least it is done. For the four of us, with expedited service, it cost $726!!

Why did it take 45 minutes once you were "in the little room"? We got ours at the Yamhill County Clerk's office, no line but this was 6 months ago. But it only took them about 5 minutes to get us on our way. We too had the forms all printed out. We just had to sign them.

V- To clarify, I adore my CPA! He is the best!

I really really have a hard time with the ones who start with au..... and end with "give us all your money and 1/2 of your skin".

Sophia and I have to get them . . . at our post office, you have to make an appointment. I guess that is more civilized than wating in line. The lady who does this at the post office though is not exactly customer friendly - she is downright unpleasant. I remember when I took DS to get his, you felt like you were entering a Franz Kafka novel.

John, I totally understand this!!! Savannah was so upset after our last trip to get hers, that whenever she is really really mad at me she says "YOU ARE JUST LIKE THE POST OFFICE!". She yelled this on a plane once and you can only imagine the looks and laughter we got.
