Good morning. A really lovely day here today, better than the cold and wind yesterday and the grey skies before.

Happy Limo does offer a grocery stop, and that's a great idea because we wanted to get water beforehand also. Can you imagine, 20 people piling out of a hummer...that's a camera moment!

Can you also imagine those 20 people trying to get back in the Hummer with cases of water!!!

Still need to think our plans for transfers etc with being at WDW, but the Hummer sounds so much fun. Wouldn't mind the children at all - all adds to the excitement. Would want to be there as soon as possible though!

I guess though if we have a rental car anyway we will be using that to the port.:sad1: What on earth am I crying about we will be going to the PORT!!!!!

Karen, are you not here this morning?

Good morning, Marilyn!

I will try to get this off before the DIS goes down!

Lovely day today, bit chilly again, for us, and we had some more rain this morning, but not too bad.

My DD and I went to the Jelly Belly factory today and had a great time!! We took the tour, made Longaberger baskets and I even won a 1 of only 64 made basket there!!!:woohoo:

I'll check back in about 30 minutes!:lmao:

Karen

Oops, too late, it's already hung up!!

Well, you're gone now!!

The Jelly Belly factory sounds great. Why is it called that? I have a different definition of jelly belly!

Actually, they have a shirt that says "Jelly Belly" and the name sits above the belly. My friend says thast she would have gotten the shirt, but she was afraid that people would think that it was her belly and not the jelly bean that the shirt was indicating!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Of course, I would never have thought that!:rolleyes1

Karen

What was your basket like that you won?

It's called a medium market basket, but for the Jelly Belly event they put a red and yellow band around the edge (jelly belly colors) and "tacks" that are jelly belly logos in place of the usuall nail tacks.

Here is the URL for the baskets that we were able to make ourselves. My DD and I each made one today, ours have red handles as I am a collectors club member and the handles are special for that. https://jellybelly.com/Cultures/en-US/NewsEvents/NewsStories/Basket+Fest+2007.htm

The one that I won, is similar in color but quite a bit larger and has a single handle.
I'll have my DD take a picture of it with her digital, or I will have my pictures developed on Monday when we get back from barrel tasting and I will pm you with it. It is really cool! The best part is that the basket is signed by the members of the family that were present at the event.

I'm sure I could ebay it for a very hefty amount, but it is just so neat and I am such a fan of thier baskets!

I am off to bed now! Have a great day!! I probably won't check in again until Satuday night/Sunday morning as we are at an event at Belvedere Winery tomorrow night and then dinner at Ravenous in Healdsburg!

Karen

Good monring all:)
Lovely sunny day here today at the moment :)

Another very avid reader here (what do you expect from a librarian?;)) For the last couple of years I've been working in a school so have read a lot of teenager's books, and that's been great but now I'm back to reading books for grown ups. I love Anita Shreve's books and have just read 'The Last Time they Met' which made me cry. Also loved The Time Traveller's Wife. I might try 'the Historian' next....

I shall be using that library on the Magic that's for sure!

Here's a picture I just took looking out from our backyard:

What a lovely picture! (It always looks better in pictures doen't it? I can't feel the cold then!)

If we stay at the Hyatt MCO the night before, I think it would be great fun to be "Hummerized" to the port.

Oh me too me too!:cool1:

Here's the little sickie....sorry if I posted this already! I posted it on another thread for the cruise he's joining me on, so I'm assuming I didn't put it on here since he won't be coming. :upsidedow

Holly he looks like a real sweetie, what a great photo!

I got back the final quote....:cool1:
$396.00 plus tip from MCO to port (this includes a luggage van)

$453.00 plus tip from typical WDW resort.

They have 2 hummers in their fleet. I can reserve them now. Since there seems to be a large interest in getting to the port this way, please PM if you are interested, from where and how many in your party. Let's see what the numbers look like and we can go from there...

From the posts, and I realize none of this is set in stone....it looks like these are the ones who might be interested....and if I missed you, I am sorry:guilty: it is hard to catch everything in all these posts, but please PM me

from MCO (if do red eye or stay at Hyatt)
Fourmcds x4
Birkner x2
LiserAnnx4
Mexican Mousketeers x3
UKAngel x2
Also, and maybe from WDW
Granmaz
Clynne
Kymma
not sure how many in those groups.

Of course the question for some of you traveling without kids...would you mind kids in the Hummer with you or do we want to try and split into family one and adult one?
If there are enough people that def. want in, I have no problem reserving it now. It takes a cc number to hold the reservation, but you can cancel up to 1 week before. I would think if we set up a 9 or 10 am departure from MCO that would allow most red eyes to arrive and those sleeping there to get up and still get us to the port early. :cheer2:

Thoughts?

here is the description from the website:
Ride the longest H2 HUMMERZINE in Orlando. . The new H2 HUMMER is an exhilarating, uncompromising SUV limo unlike any other. This exotic HUMMERZINE offers, 6 flat screen tv's, 4 sub-woofers, wood flooring, DVD, 3 a/c units,2 lasers, strobe lights & much more. Reserve the HUMMERZINE today & see why this exotic is the favorite of local celeberties. Please look below for rates.
It also says somewhere something about a dance floor!

And...has anyone used Happy Limo? The website says they are listed in the Passporter.

we have used Happy Limo several time in the past with no complaints, except one time he was late to pick us up for the airport. They've always been very polite etc:)

We'd love to do this, thanks for including us. We'll go along with whatever the majority decide:) Will there be enough room for everyone?!!!;) How exciting!

And Yes, I do need to get to Greece. Hopefully sometime soon. I was sooooo hoping that the DCL Med cruises would go to Greece, but no such luck. I would have probably gone if they had.

Night all - I need to get some sleep and it is 11:00!

One of my favourite places John:) Been there several times in the past and found it absolutley beautiful :) The Greek people are so freindly, especially great with kids, we loved it!:)

Our DD has been home sick the last 2 days with possible strep throat. Always throws my sork off too, but she does come first. My DSis helps out and will have her over even when she is sick as she has her own room at my DSis' house and can rest in there. I'm so lucky to have my DSis so close by, really is helpful since we don't have any other family around, (or still living in the case of our parents. :sad2:

Hope she's better soon Karen :(

Night to all and good morning (soon) to all the UK DISers. I have an early flight in the morning so I will check in later in the day.

:surfweb:

Morning Noel:) Have fun today!

Hope everyone has a good day today, I'm off to visit with my sister in a minute. She lives 50 miles from me in Wiltshire, but it's lovely to spend an afternoon with her on her own :)

Bye for now!:hippie:

Oh it is! We had 14 adults last cruise, we went in to publix with wallets and came out with water, pop and wine, lol! We were the only people in the store and we fanned out with a purpose, lol. The publix that Happy Limo will take you to has a large selection of wine.

John,

I love Dan Brown and Clive Cussler as well as Michael Connolly and Lee Child. Not your "average" chick novels, but hey, I love them!!

I will look for a Steven Berry book, what is the first one? I always like to start at "the beginning".

Karen

Good Morning!

All but two of his books stand alone (I have not read his first book though - yet). The last two, The Templar Legacy and The Alexandria Link share a common protagonist.

but in order they are:

The Amber Room
The Romanov Prophecy
The Third Secret
The Templar Legacy
The Alexandria Link

Lisa - we can work on our Greek for 15 days!

I am also trying to self-motivate to kick it into gear on weight loss and exercise. Great once you have it going, but getting it started is a real trial.

I hear you on this. I 'finished off' some Girl Scout cookies last night so they'd be 'out of the way' when I 'start' my healthy eating. What kind of logic is that :confused3 I could put on another 5 lbs just 'getting things out of the way' !! :lmao:

I am a huge fan of Elizabeth Peters (AKA Barbara Mertz) mystery stories. Even DH loves to hear Barbara Rosenblatt narrate them on tape.

Oh, someone new to add to the book shopping list!

As I said in an ealier post, I am crazy for early Elizabeth Peters because of her use of polysyllabic words. I am so tired of authors "writing" down to their public. I guess that is why I am such a fan of movies made in the 1930's through the 1950's when dialogue was king.

I'm currently reading "In the Presence of the Enemy" by Elizabeth George and have had to grab the dictionary twice! I love English mysteries. Though it's been a long time since I've read one, I seem to remember PD James also has a vocabulary!

More books to add to the shopping list. I THINK there's still about $35 on my Boarders gift certificate.......

We are going to need a van for our luggage and another van for our cases of water and snacks and stuff!!

BTW - don't know if I mentioned, we will be at Disney's Vero Beach and Beach Club Villas from March 23 - April 1 if any of you will be visiting the World at that time. We do intend to get together with Vanessa and some friends from home who will also be there for our Spring Break.

Looks like me, DH and one child DD10 will be at WDW Sunday April 1 though April 4

I would think it would be cheaper to drop off the car at MCO and then join us as don't you have to pay extra to drop off in Cocoa Beach?

What a visual!! A true Kodak moment!!

Off to the airport and will check in later today.

Ciao for now,

Noel

I will look into the rental charges thanks.

Hope you have a good trip.

John, I am reading The Path Between the Seas, listening to the Harry Potter series on my ipod. Just picked up Heat, a book about the life in restaurant kitchens. Also, enjoy Dan Brown and Robert Ludlum and for serious fluff, a romance or two.

I have just finished the The Path Between the Seas. I listened to it on tape. I give it a :thumbsup2

What lake are you near? I have been to Lake Mille Laks and it was lovely but it was in the summer.

We're on a small lake in the west metro area called Lotus Lake. It's only 246 acres in size. Mille Lacs is 132,000 acres! I've never been there but I've seen lots of pictures. It really does look beautiful even in the winter.
