Holly- You and I must have some of the same experiences. I share office space with my Grandfather and we’re both attorneys. These days he only handles a couple of cases, but he can’t remember what’s going on with each case. Sometimes it’s funny, but sometimes it drives me CRAZY!
:rotfl2: Oh, the stories we could compare! The good thing is that I'm learning early how to juggle tons of cases. Because of how he is, I have to know what's going on in all of the files. I may only be a secretary, but there's no just sitting and typing for me. I actually enjoy a challenge, and I appreciate the value of what I'm learning from dealing with his forgetfulness, so it works for me. But the most important lesson I've learned is that I WILL NOT be working when I'm 80 years old! :scared1:

Wow, keeping up with this thread is hard!

I am stuck on crutches for a few weeks so I should have time to stay up to date!

Is there another website for this cruise?

Hi Everyone,
I just thought I would finally chime in and give you all a hello:wave2:
and post my idea for something to do.
I thought it would be fun to have a bush dancing class on a sea day, since we have so many of them! I am a dance teacher by trade and had my final class in December and am already missing it! I learned to do bush dancing while I was living in Australia and loved it!!!
It is a great ice-breaker for get togethers where people don't know each other. It is very easy to do, you don't need to be a professional dancer. Most of the dances are where you line up, boys on 1 side, girls on the other and meet in the middle. It is especially fun after you have had a few drinks, then the creativity flows!
So how about it, anyone interested in learning to dance like the Aussies do???
Jolene

Added this to the informal events list, and added a link to Jolene's PM, so everyone can ask questions and show interest.

I've arranged for group photos on the last 4 or 5 cruises we have been on. Here's the picture of our group on Pirate night during the 2005 PC cruise I arranged. If you would like me to take care of that for this cruise, I would be happy to do so.

I say you know your stuff! Mickey is there, :cloud9:. Let me know details, will add to the site, it is all listed as TBA right now, lol.

Hi everyone, just got caught up. School had a holiday yesterday so I took the boys to Legoland in Carlsbad. It was so much fun and the weather was perfect....75 degrees! I hate to say this because I know many of you have freezing temps but they have a water/splash area and the boys put their swimsuits on and played for almost two hours while I enjoyed watching them on a bench and basked in the sun. Very nice.

Ok, well I've decided as one of my contributions I'd like to make everyone a DIS green Mickey magnet for those who would like one. PM me with your DIS name AND cabin number. If you don't know it yet, indicate that and before sailing I'll update the list. Here's what it will look like:

Happy Day!

I sent my pm too, thanks!

Ok gang! It appears there are some folks who'll be at DLR at the third week of May. Cheri-I think you said you'd be there 5/21 and 5/22 and Angie and Dennis will be there 5/19 - 5/27.

So I was thinking that would be a good time to have a DIS Meet for those who can make it. I would suggest somewhere in Downtown Disney (someone suggested Storyteller's which is great) as opposed to in the parks--that way those who don't have passes won't have to spend a fortune if they don't want to go into the the parks.

How does 5/21 or 5/22 in the evening look? PM me if you're interested and indicate your day preference. And for those who are wondering/interested, I'll still plan on a Temecula Winery DISMeet as well, I just thought I'd take advantage of the fact that some DISers will already be at DL in May.

Let's get this DISMeets ball rolling!!! :thumbsup2

Added to the pre-cruise meets with links for the post and Lisa's PM.

I have not been on much but wanted to say HI! Just been busy as mom. I saw that there was discussion about lanyards, bracelets, leis and mickey heads. Does anyone know who I contact right off hand about each thing. I looked on the websites but did not see it. Probably just me. I will go back and look but if anyone knows real quick please let me know.

Check out the first page of the website on the right hand side there are links to each one's pm box.

I won't say anthing.....:rolleyes1

I'm just trying to catch up...
Heads up! I send you an email with the blank design files.

IF ANYONE WANTS A DESIGN, PLEASE :jumping3: PM ME :jumping3: !!!! I probably won't find it in the thread because I don't check it often enough. I still have to read through 6 pages out of around 15.

Brat, we still can't pm you
If anyone wants anything the'll have to pm me for now.

We should think about this . . . I think some people on our last cruise felt "pressured" to make sure that they did something nice for everyone. With 97 cabins, this may be hard for everyone . . . and, you can ship the stuff to the port, but then you have to haul it all home . . .

I am going to make a suggestion . . . how about if we come up with 15 things - one for each night of the trip? The leis could be one, the lanyards another. Make them nice things that those who are interested could contribute to instead of 97 other things. Whoever wants to volunteer and come up with the ideas can be responsible for getting the stuff and distribution. We could all end up with some nice things to remind us of the cruise. No one would go broke or crazy trying to come up with 97 different ideas that were cost effective. (one idea that I liked from our last cruise was a deck of cards with our cruise date and info on it - another one could be a custom Christmas ornament). Things that someone may not be able to buy individually for everyone, but they could afford to contribute so that they could have a keepsake.

This would also keep the kids (and the kid in all of us) happy for each night's "surprise". We have 15 months to come up with creative ideas, and this is a very talented group. The "fish extenders" is what gave me the idea for this approach.

In addition to that, everyone could bring a card or something like that for each cabin that they could distribute, maybe with a picture of their family and name, with email addresses, etc. so that those who want to keep in touch can, and it could also be something for a scrapbook.

This is just a suggestion. I know we went nuts trying to figure out what to bring, and I felt bad for those who thought they "had" to bring something to exchange.

Any thoughts?

Ok I added this to the website and turned on the comment option, who knew I could do that ;), so we can keep a easy to read stream of thought on this. It is in the blog section.

Hi Jolene,
This sounds like fun, I would love to join in...well...except...you don't need to be a professional...but do you need to have some coordination:confused:

Corrine-the EB thread would absolutely put me under! I have enough trouble keeping up with our thread! Like I said, I really enjoy reading what everyone on our thread has to say, and I'm so glad we're not at the EB pace! How do they find the time?!

They all must have housekeepers and chefs and all the other people that run a household. No jobs or kids either. :rotfl:

Corrine

Wow! That is great. How did the thread work? Was it a new thread under Cruise meet or did you keep it within the larger one? Maybe it would be good to have one just for this challenge? I'm anxious to hear John's suggestions as well. This will be fun - although I'm not starting today. Still on vacation - had a big bowl of spaghetti for lunch! But March 1st would be perfect. Lisa

We actually had the thread on the DIS WISH forum and called it "Scoop Away The Pounds" (as it was in preperation for a double-dip cruise). I figured if we tried to put in on the DCL forum it would just get moved over there anyway and there are also many other threads on that forum that are VERY helpful...and some fun 'challenges' too!

In addition to that, everyone could bring a card or something like that for each cabin that they could distribute, maybe with a picture of their family and name, with email addresses, etc. so that those who want to keep in touch can, and it could also be something for a scrapbook.

John, I really love your suggestions, especially this one!

If I were you, and the $$ is not a huge issue, I would reserve your son's spot NOW, and add him to your reservation to hedge against not being able to add him later. It is easy to cancel him before final payment is due. It may not be so easy to add him!

I second that! It's exactly what my TA told me yesterday about adding my friend.

I think I will do this. I can probably just email my TA. I figured that adding one more person to a room with only two in it would be fine since he wouldn't be using the kid's club. I should go ahead and add him.

I had considered joining WW too, but am not sure I want to spend the money when it all boils down to me not being able to control my food urges. I have to learn some willpower first! But then again, maybe WW helps with that too? Not sure....don't know much about it. I mean, I know what is nutritious and what I'm supposed to eat. It's fighting the urges to eat bad stuff. Absolutely uncontrolable.

I have found in the past that the weekly weigh in is my big motivator to stay on track. But it is a double edged sword. When my week hasn't gone too well, I want to skip it. But that is exactly opposite of what I should do. Knowing I have to step on that scale is important part of the WW process.

OK - on the last cruise I tried to do something that fell apart - maybe there was not enough time . . . I came up with a spreadsheet for percentage of weight loss, and we had a "challenge" to see who could lose the most percentage of weight (that way no one is embarrassed by how much they weigh). I was going to give awards and everything, and post weekly results, but it fell apart . . . anyone interested?

I would be willing to partake in this if someone is wanting to do this!

I meant to mention, this would be a family DIS meet...so be sure to bring the kidlets!

Same here. I am so glad that I am on the cruise instead of the EB repo. I think I would loose my mind trying to keep up with those pirates!![/COLOR]

I am on both and I gave up on the EB long ago. I am thinking I will join in again after our wonderful awesom cruise!!

 Cars suck, mine needs a new header gasket ($700 cad), but cheaper then a down payment on a new car, planned for June 08. Take a break, sweetie!
Pj

Car 1 - 156,000 miles - Needed $4,700.....love car .... paid for it (told my DH I could cruise for that)
Car 2 - 99,000 miles - Needed $1,500 ...same week....

YUCK

I think a few of us (me unspoken until now) have talked about getting back into shape, or into shape. Maybe we can have a little sub-talk within this talk to help support each other? Maybe a Monday call - a report on how we have done the past week with eating healthy, exercise, etc. Monday might be a good day as I know I always have the hardest time over the week-end. If I know I have to "give a report" maybe it will help me keep on track! After all, with 14 months to go, we can all be in excellent shape for the cruise!
Lisa

ME ... ME!! I'm in :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

I have been on diet to go www.diettogo.com it is such a wonderful wa to diet. I started the 2nd week in Jan and I have lost 8 pounds with 14 more to go. My husband has lost 16 with 26 more to go. If you are in the DC or San Fran area.....food is fresh and awesome!!!

I joined Curves almost 2 years ago and I think the getting weighed and measured once month - plus seeing it on a nice little graph helps keep me on track. I can tell myself what I want but seeing it in black and white helps to keep me on the dies more. 43 pounds lost, as of yesterday, and hopefully still counting.

AWESOME!!

I second that! It's exactly what my TA told me yesterday about adding my friend.

What is up with your friend .... is she in???

OK - on the last cruise I tried to do something that fell apart - maybe there was not enough time . . . Great idea, I love this!!

Great - I'm thinking of the best way to have the reporting. Maybe like the biggest loser show where people can just report the percentage they have lost. That way, if anyone is share about listing actual weights, you can still participate. More later! Lisa

I would list the actual weight....it is what it is and it is the best way for me to lose!!

I think a separate thread for this would be great...but I will join in however you guys set it up.

All caught up......I read more than I post. I think you guys are all awesome.
For those who have a tough job.....me too. I hate crying over work, but it happens....my kids say, QUIT ..... I wish it were that easy.
