Natural Wonders of Aruba
Withdraw to the wondrous world of butterflies, discover the art of aloe production, and visit the world-famous site of Aruba's unofficial icon, the Natural Bridge.

Behold the panoramic grandeur of Aruba's coastline — boasting hidden coves, rocky climbs and gentle rolling hills — during a 15-minute air-conditioned motor coach drive from the ship to the Butterfly Farm, Aruba's most-visited ecological reserve. Upon your arrival, meet and greet your friendly guide who will take you on a tour through a tropical garden wonderland where hundreds of beautiful butterflies from around the world fly freely all around you. Discover the fascinating life cycle of the butterfly — from meandering caterpillar to fluttering winged insect, and marvel at the curiosity of these gentle creatures as they dart and dash all around you. Revel in the beauty of their colorful winged markings and the uniqueness of their various sizes and shapes and snap a picture of the exotic flowers, placid pools and tropical landscaping that surround you at every turn. Following your hour-long visit, embark on a 10-minute trip to the Aloe Balm Facility and enjoy a 20-minute guided tour of the factory and grounds. During your visit, learn the history of aloe in Aruba and discover the fascinating process of producing some of the world's finest lotions and creams from the desert plant.

After your stop at the Aloe Balm Facility, travel past Divi Divi trees and unique-shaped cacti and travel west to one of Aruba's most famous tourist attractions: the Natural Bridge. An archway made of coral limestone that formed naturally over thousands of years, the Natural Bridge stood 25 feet high and 100 feet long before it collapsed into the sea in 2005. Today, the remnants are a reminder of the beauty that once existed, and the spot — which is home to yet another natural archway — is still a famous destination for visitors around the world. Upon your arrival, snap a picture of this celebrated treasure and wander the picturesque coastline, where cool island breezes mingle with endless warm sun. After your 20-minute visit amidst paradise, embark on a 25-minute scenic drive through Oranjestad, the capital of Aruba, and make your way back to the ship.

Thanks. Now I remember ... I think it was the visit to the Aloe Balm Facility and the 20 minute and history of Aloe ...

I'm not sure! Did you get my PM from a couple of days ago? I couldn't find it in my sent list. This has happened a couple of times now when I send something and it disappears.

no, no pm, I did respond and also sent Paypal which I hope you received. I didn't get a reject notice so it should be fine!

Anyone have the Disneyland Passporter? Is it worth it?:confused3

For those of you that have the Lowepro CompuDaypack Camera Bag , will DD's 17" MacBook Pro fit inside?

I read the spec's and it says "with a rear compartment for a notebook computer to fit most 17 inch models ."

Here is a quote from a review done for the backpack on amazon.com

The CompuDaypack fit my needs very well. It is not a large bag and fits easily in an airline overhead.

The camera area is easy to access and has room for my Canon 30D with a fairly large lens attached, plus space for additional lenses. I also put the power transformer for my MacBook Pro in the camera section.

The computer section held my MacBook Pro 17" laptop very well. One trip I also put a 15" HP in the note pocket of the computer area. Of course that made the backpack very heavy.

I'm very careful with setting the bag down. It bothers me a little that the camera is on the bottom of the pack. The more expensive Lowepro bags center the camera in the pack, but they are much larger than I wanted to carry.

So I think you shpuld be OK..

Ken....thanks for the heads up...I'll delay my purchase until you get your new backpack....

Was wondering why the thread was growing like wildfire......an awful lot of Molly's pictures were copied into replies....

Ian, my packing starts with a Pack-It Folder for shirts and pants. PackingFolders
This lets me pack more clothes in less space, and dramatically reduces wrinkling.

Other items (socks, t-shirts, underwear) go into packing cubes. I'll also use a packing cube for electronics, rechargers, and an extension cord.

The folder and cubes help me keep organized.

Woody

How many cubes and folders would you recommend?

I have 2-XL, 2-L, & 2-S folders for the 2 of us. I have 3 cubes but I don't put our undies in them(I use z-lock bags). Sometimes we use them all and sometimes we don't. If you are using a regular suitcase be sure and measure and that should help you decide. REI.com usually has them on sale in their outlet.

I don't think it would be right to bring your own wine in the bottle to the dining table. Maybe a glass, ok. Connie

I was just asking what the rules are as of course I will follow the rules. Unless I can get them to change them and bend them to suit my very own needs.

Just kidding! :rotfl2:

Most of our food is good. My favorite is the fried cheesecake and the mac&cheese.

That sound really good right now as I am trying to eat better and healthy foods only.

CALMOM... how did the juice fast go? I am still thinking of doing one and would like some honest insight. Feel free to PM me if you don't mind sharing info.

Amazon has quite a few reviews on the backpack.

I found two that exactly describe my camera layout

Easily held our MacBook Pro 15" plus our Canon Digital Rebel, plus a 75-300mm telephoto lens.

My digital rebel barely fits with the kit lens in the main section. The 4 other sections hold a 80-200, 50mm, 28-105 lense, and a 430EX Flash

Whew.....and the price is right....

It is very slow tonight....

Thanks Marr for all your assistance in getting the shipping issue cleaned up...

YUP they are such cute pictures aren't they!

Some airports will confiscate corksrews......honest. I have not checked the approved list again, but this has happened (right in front of me)....no it was not mine.
I've had two corkscrews confiscated in my carry-on, but they told me that the problem was that they had a blade on them. Otherwise, it sounded like it would be OK. I wasn't even trying to take them in my carry-on, just had left them in the outside pocket from a previous trip when they had been checked. Checked luggage is no problem and it is no problem to bring them on the ship.
