I don't think it would be right to bring your own wine in the bottle to the dining table. Maybe a glass, ok. Connie
On the TA, I would have part of a bottle (from the wine package) with my dinner. When it was getting low I would take the rest to my room, along with the wine glass. I spent quite of few hours in Diversions and didn't want to pay the price per glass, so I would take my own glass of wine. No one seemed bothered by that. Of course that meant that most of time that I was walking around the ship, I had a glass (or bottle) of wine with me. I'm sure some might have wondered about that! Especially since the ship was rocking so bad that it was impossible to walk in a straight line. :rotfl: The other thing that I learned is that if I didn't hide the empty glass I had brought back to my room, the room steward would make off with it.

Pretty cute!
DH came home and wanted to know why is undershirt was on the dining room table. I told him it was a new idea for placemats. :rotfl:

THanks for the laugh!

Monica,
Loved the new pics of Sydney, she growing up so fast. What a cutie and such big brown eyes. :goodvibes

Thanks-I'm having a REALLY hard time being away from her. I had already moved back up to MD when Ian was this age.

I told my sister that if she paid for my tkt to go up there, I'd babysit so that she & DH could go have a nice dinner alone for her bday. (She's talking to David about it now). Not sure if it'll work though.

In loving memory of a great husband and father to our two children...
We love and miss you honey!
Sept. 29, 1966-Feb. 3, 2008

Did I miss something?

I was originally booked on this cruise when it first came out but had to cancel due to problems with the school district. My husband did pass away recently, and the school districts, I had to deal with two, did understand under the circumstances that the kids and I needed to get away from the memories and the press since this was a murder by a burglar.

My son, 16, has been suffering from high blood pressure the last few weeks (we are trying to rule out organic causes), I guess the strain is too much, and my daughter, 10, is having constant back aches, I assume this is stress and I had her checked out at the pediatrician today who said it might be stress or she could have strained somehow. I am a total zombie and I am hoping the this cruise will enable us to forget our troubles for a while and laugh and have smiles and fun again.

I think I am too late to get in on most of the stuff you guys have been planning for over a year, but in a couple of days, I will send our info out, I saw a thread about it. I would like to attend some meets or whatever you guys have cooked up. I haven't had time to do any planning. I just have the cruise booked and airfare booked. But I still have time.

Thanks for listening, my DH was a great guy and very loved in the community. We will miss him forever.

Tammy,

You have stumbled into the most loving, caring, fun loving group on the DIS boards. I am sure that I speak for all here when I say join in on anything you would like and if there is anything any of us can do to brighten your day for you and the children you have only to ask. WELCOME :grouphug:

Doug & Carol

thanks so much, I changed the font on the tribute a bit so it is not so big. I don't want to emphasize just tribute. Does that make any sense?

Oh Tammy - I am so sorry. Thank you for sharing your story with us, jump in the chatter anytime and no, you aren't too late! I can't even begin to imagine what you and the kids are going through, but please know you are welcome to come vent anytime...and if you need someone to talk to feel free to pm me. :grouphug:

Tammy - who all is cruising with you? Are you planning on staying in California at all after the cruise?

I am V - well Vanessa, but everyone calls me V....DH, John and two DD's Samantha 5 and Haley 3. Are you on early or late dining?

Hey Tammy. I was sad when I read your first post today. I send my condolences to you and your family.
:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

I am glad to here that you are now planning on going again. I was bummed when you had to cancel. I am still looking forward to meeting you and you kids. When you asked earlier about the flights I didn't realize that you were talking about this cruise. I thought maybe you were doing one of the 7 day Mexican cruises.

Tammy I am very saddened to read your story and I know all of us here wish you and the kids nothing but the best possible vacation you could hope for. I had not seen you post before and maybe you had on the first thread early on so I may be a stranger to you but if you need anything at all please ask. I lost my firstborn when she was four and I know all about walking around as a zombie. Going through the motions with none of the emotions as I say. I understand it is hard to find happiness for a moment without a bit of guilt for the laughter and smiles, I know this all too well. Trust me a vacation is exactly what you all need right now to get back to the place emotionally you need to be and the special smile in your heart your husband would wish for you all.

Tammy - do you have a room # or are you staying in the lifeboats with several of us?

Tammy,
I am so sorry for your loss. I think it is good that you rebooked the cruise.

Do you need help getting a fish extender so you will be part of the gifting? In your circumstances, you certainly don't need to bring gifts, but I bet everyone will be happy to share their gifts with you. Some people last year just hung a decorated bag from their fish. That is really all you need, and to just let us know that you now have a fish extender (FE). Someone else needs to give Lisa's screen name because it is escaping me at the moment.

Be sure to PM edna_mode, as she is getting ready to order the lanyards.

What other things are you interested in? I bet there is still time.
