I had a teacher conference today and I forgot I was bidding on four things that ended today. Lost ALL four that really bothers me. They sold for way less then I was willing to pay but oh well off to find other things. :rotfl:

Some clothing questions.

John is going to rent a tux and bring his suit. The shoes he normally wears with his suit are the type of leather that doesn't shine however long you buff them, so I presume he would need to rent the tux shoes. Will he still need to bring his normal black shoes for his suit? If I can get him to buy some black, more shiny(but not patent:eek: ) shoes, would these do for the tux so he wouldn't have to rent those? He does have problems with shoes fitting.

Alex just wears his black leather cowboy boots with his tux. He feels that no one is going to be looking at shoes when he has the tux on.

One does not have to wear patent leather shoes with a tux, any nice black dress shoes would be fine. It just depends on how dressy vs. casual they are.

I decided to go the route of formal shoes because my work shoes were not nice enough and tends towards being more casual, plus I found formal shoes for about $25 on Shoebuy, which made them a better deal than renting over the long haul.

Ian, my packing starts with a Pack-It Folder for shirts and pants. PackingFolders
This lets me pack more clothes in less space, and dramatically reduces wrinkling.

Other items (socks, t-shirts, underwear) go into packing cubes. I'll also use a packing cube for electronics, rechargers, and an extension cord.

The folder and cubes help me keep organized.

Woody

Thanks! This is really good stuff to know about. I had never heard of it before.

.

No.

Woody

Mrs. Woody and Mr. Edna Mode can compare notes about what they don't know about the Dis.

Yep, nobody notices. People are too busy worrying about what they are wearing and not spilling food on their outfit. :rotfl:

Marilyn,

I would not worry about it too much. You will see most anything :confused3 on formal night so John doesn't need to worry about renting a tux if he doesn't want to and if he does I doubt if anyone will pay much attention to his shoes. (Crocs have some nice shoes in black) :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao: ;) A nice suit and comfortable shoes would work just fine. I am sure you both will look wonderful in whatever you decide to to wear.

Doug

My hubby won't be wearing a tux at all. I can hardly coerce him into a suit, and he draws the line at a tie, he wears a mock turtle neck shirt with his suit. I also have trouble getting him out of comfy shoes.....no shiny ones for him!

I think the guys look so nice in there formal wear!

Connie

I'm with your husband on this one. I will not be packing a suit. The only dress clothing I will have are the tails and the white dinner jacket.

The only reason I'm doing it is because I view it as a costume and so completely over the top as to be palatable. It would have had to be either uber-formal for me, or a 1970's powder blue tux.

In either case, I prefer to stand out like a sore thumb and make a complete spectacle of myself.

John will just have the rented tux...and maybe a nice shirt and tie. He doesn't own a proper suit that fits anymore.

Did you see this over on the 'magnetic door signs' thread?

The butterfly farm excursion. Does that only go to the butterfly farm, or does it go somewhere else? We would be interested in that excursion if it only did the butterfly farm.

.

I think just the butterflies...

Deb what ever you decide is fine. I don't drink so I was just coming for the company!

Ditto for me, I was stopping by the drink fountain on deck 9 and filling up and bringing a diet coke!

Perhaps we can do with less Champagne as there are quite a few non drinkers. I'm down as a sipper as i would like to taste some, but I won't be drinking much at all.

If we are planning 24 bottles, that is over half a bottle each including non drinkers!!!:scared1:
