Well the DIS is so S..........L.........O.......W......... for me today. I am trying to get caught up.

I remember last year being surprised how much you celebrate St. Patrick's Day over there. It goes almost unnoticed here really unless you are Irish. St. George's Day(England) passes us by completely!! We're so unpatriotic here!

Heck we celebrate anything, if it means a party.

You should understand all my spellings then!!! I have to say though some of our spellings are daft.

I totally agree! For example 'gaol' - who thought that one up!

This is me exactly.....I buy nothing new....I pack the night before we leave...I don't care how my kids look, that is their business, and I always make sure I have 3 things with me.....credit cards, passports and medicines. Those 3 things I can not buy.

And I don't iron!

Don't feel bad. I was born and bred in the US and grew up in New York City (Brooklyn to be specific) and there were things that I simply did not understand or know about when I moved to the "main land."

I only knew about the British Smarties, never heard of the other kind.

Another funny story when I moved to, a guy I worked with told me he bought a "duplex." I naturally assumed that this was an apartment with 2 floors, an upstairs and downstairs.

I went to see his place and I said, "This isn't a duplex, it's a semi-detached house!" He just looked at me like I was crazy.

When I was sent to live in the UK on 4 year project, I was once in the HR office looking at the housing listings they had set up for we Americans.

A guy from Colorado, points to the housing sign on the wall and says, "Isn't it funny what they call it?" I said, "Call what?" He said, "They call it 'To Let', that's funny." I had never heard it called anything else but "To Let,' so I said, "What do you call it?" He said, "For Rent." To which I responded, "Maybe where you come from, but not where I come from."

People still make fun of me because I for the word "route" I still pronounce it as "root," the way I grew up pronouncing it in NYC.

Another funny thing is, and maybe it's because of my age, in grade school (public school as they are called in Brooklyn), I had to learn two spellings for many words.

I had to learn both:

color and colour
neighbor and neighbour
favorite and favourite
center and centre
theater and theatre
harbor and harbour
etc.

But I only learned one spelling for words such as catalogue.

Odd how in one country and in a matter of just a few years things can change so much.

I'm so jealous - I LOVE New York - very like Sydney, just bigger! I could SO live there...

Know what you mean about the spelling - we have family living in Texas, and their kids have a deadline about when they have to stop spelling the 'wrong' way, and start spelling the 'correct' way - when they come back here they will be very confused!

I had my sister mail me some of those cinnaspins Very tasty!!!!

I would say yes, V. I'm doing it with DCL and the group is meeting at 12:45pm so we'll probably be there for the 1:00pm show.

V, can you take the day off? It will help you recover quicker, and you need the rest.

Now I seem to remember hearing somewhere in the past that there is a special showing of the divers later for the cruise ships. 2.30 perhaps?

I think Lemonades are the BEST cookies GS has ever made ... gasp!! ... I love Thin Mints and so many of the others ... but ... Lemonades ... YUMMY!!

Good morning all, Well, we've had several days of nice weather so I've been out in the garden every day for an hour or so and am so out of shape that I'm actually sore in all kinds of weird muscles. But we are getting oranges, rose buds are starting to form, strawberries, oregano.... it's all starting to pop. Unfortunately it looks like several of my flowers will be up while we are gone on the trip.

I'm working on the graphics for the whiteboards. I think I will do a pirate theme. Wasn't there a logo that someone did for this cruise? I seem to remember voiting on that. That was a long time ago, so maybe I'm mistaken.

I'm one who makes lists for weeks (okay who are we kidding ... months) and then packs a few days before ... then add, takeaway, repack ... then the day before check off everything from my list. Karen

I'm right there with you! you should have seen my 3 ring binder for last year's trip. It was at least 3.5 inches thick. But that was a big trip.

Yes, our nor cal mini meet is 3/29 but it's really for NANS BIRTHDAY

Too bad, I'll be there the next week for work. Just missed it!

But I want it in DISNEYLAND!!!!

DH has the same thing and had to do 6 hours of public speaking yesterday and 3 today, 6 tomorrow and Friday. He feels like death warmed over.

I just checked my ressie (my daily "random check" ... like I think it might disappear or something ... does anyone else do this??)

and found that we have been switched to late dining

Hope this means that we also have received our requested server and rotation.

Just one step closer to our MAGICal vacation
