Did I read correctly that some people have started packing already for a vacation in May? Or, is that buying things in preparation?

I haven't started packing, but I do wish I had room to put things to one side ready to pack so that I'd know what I've got and what I need. Unfortunately I don't have room as our house is tiny.

I explained to my DH very early in our marriage that household items are NOT gifts. And that if I ever received such a 'gift' it would result in a visit to A&E (the Emergency Room) for it to be removed from a certain part of his anatomy! :rolleyes1

:rotfl: Well its not from DH, its from my mom. I wanted tickets to the MK and pins for trading but I guess I need the vaccum.;)

Still, I come back to living too much in the future? I also sometime wonder whether the actual event can be anticlimactic after all of the anticipation?
.

Sometimes I think it can. Luckily I've never found that on our WDW or DCL trips. What I do find is that they go sooooooo fast, especially when compared with how long I've been planning. And this is by far the longest time I've ever spent planning anything in my life. :scared:

I am the same way!:rotfl:

yes, we've been planning over a year now...and it will be 17 nights for us total...it will go slowly - I hope!

We are staying at the Moose Hollow Condos in Eden (close to Ogden). We actually were able to reserve the same condo we stayed in for my family reunion this past July. My brother is stationed at HAFB. He has a home in Ogden, but also has a condo up at Moose Hollow. We really fell in love with Eden. We are thinking of buying his condo if he ends up buying my parents beach house in Port Hueneme. Anyway . . . . .

The plan right now is to ski at Powder Mountain on Friday and Snowbasin on Saturday. One of Shawn's friends is taking him Heli-skiing at Powder for his birthday present. I think this is a crazy idea, but he is very excited. We are really looking forward to this trip. Only 16 more days!

That sounds great! You will be about 1 1/2 hours north of us!

I'm from a different generation so never batted an eyelid when I got an iron one Christmas. A friend got a microwave from her husband. If I was younger now things would be different I can tell you!!!

We have this problem as well. Soon I will be laying things on the spare room floor which will cause some problems there. At the moment cruise things are stored anywhere I can put them.

Oh for sure I have been planning this since before it was booked on January 31st 2007. Never has something been so well planned. Planning takes on a whole new meaning. Plans, plans, plans.

I'm sorry, but I'm really having a hard time understanding this process. Noel was going to be the keeper of the master list and then phone the deck monitors with changes to keep everyone current. I know you'll have the mini navigator with as current info as possible. But what happens when my stateroom starts flooding on day 3 and I get moved somewhere else. Who do I contact to let them know so that when the fish teams are giving out gifts I don't get missed. Don't we need a keeper of the master list that everyone with a room change can contact. If so, Susie/luv2cruzsus has already volunteered to do this job.

Yes, the only changes that occur once we are on board is if you get kicked out of your room for flooding :lmao: or if you happen to get a magical upgrade at the port. Susie will keep track of those and the hall monitor would have those changes listed outside their door.

Also, when our room got changed (i.e. flooding)(not really) since no one was staying in that room because of a mechanical problem, we just put a sign on the door itself saying that "Seaulater and family have moved to stateroom #____. Please deliver all mail and fish gifts to the new stateroom."

Everything showed up okay. Plus I walked by the old room once a day to make sure there was nothing in my fish mail.

With travelling this vacation will take 26 days!

We did go caravanning to the South of France for a month for 2 summers. It went gloriously slooooooow! I don't get homesick.:)

Deborah - I posted the parcel on my way home from work. Hopefully it should be with you in a few days, depending on Royal Mail. I hope your DS likes the hat and that it fits.

Speaking of Royal Mail. We had a parcel from Amazon yesterday, 3 books. Parcel wouldn't fit through the letterbox so the postman took the books out and posted them individually through the letterbox followed by the packaging! (He wrote on the packaging, "Packet damaged so posted", but Amazon's packaging is usually excellent. And if it was damaged, it should not have been taken out of the sorting office.) Not surprisingly, all 3 books suffered damage as they were shoved through a small letterbox and dropped 3 feet to the floor.

We have submitted a damages claim to Royal Mail. We let Amazon know, just in case Royal Mail tried to blame them. Amazon have immediately offered to either replace the books or refund our money, but I really don't see that it is their responsibility.

Are they still serving breakfast at Topsiders docking morning in CA? I looked at my old navigators and didn't see any mention of it. We have always gone down to breakfast in the dining room. I noticed that the breakfast times on my navigator from last Feb range from 6:30 am to 7:00 am for the first seating and 7:45 to 8:15 for the second seating.

So a consideration for arranging shuttles might be when/if people are eating breakfast.

We are early seating and staying at the GC. I still haven't decided how the two of us are going to get DL. But we only have a day and a half to do DL and have never done it before, so I want to get there as quick as I can!

-- Kathy

I can't remember if they had breakfast in Topsiders or not, we ate on our rotational seating that morning. However, I do know that the people that got off the ship first stood around waiting for well over an hour waiting for their luggage to come off the ship, so getting off early did no good, unless you like standing around in the non-Disney terminal waiting. We stayed on the ship and took our time getting off.

We have different awards then you all do! Our girls only get what ever level they are at they are not cumulative. So if you get to 800 you get the prizes for all the levels 55 and UNDER. Yes our awards suck. :confused3 650 is a prepaid cell phone (at&t has it for 19.99) but if you get 800 you get the awards for 550 and below so no phone. 1000 is an iPod. The paper says iPod shuffle and yet the picture is of an iPod video so who knows what that really is.

Now the nutty part. Jacinda already has a Nextel cell phone and also has an iPod so really she needs none of the awards. She just wants to be able to do it I suppose. The thing she really wants is the black t shirt and that is 225 boxes for us.

We do a combination of awards and cookie credits. Girls get $10 in cookie credits for every 50 boxes they sell. They can be used to help pay for camp, council events, a destination (for older girls), merchandise in the shop, etc. Our top seller this year sold over 4,700 boxes of cookies. So she got $940 in cookie credits! I believe she is using them to have pay for her destination to Costa Rica!
