Has anyone heard anything about the new menus that are supposed to come out next month??? I read this on the main board...

Maybe Linda has heard????

Linda????? :)

Welcome...:goodvibes

& may I suggest you get him a Gund puppy dog???? (brand name...) They're the softest...

If you are chosen, they can go through your checked luggage too. Just because it is x-rayed, does not mean it is not opened also.

We had tablemates on one cruise who were from South Africa. They said that their luggage was opened and sorted five times from S.A. to Miami. This was BEFORE September 11th. It was normal travel for them. We felt so blessed to be Americans. Now we have some of the same concerns the rest of the world has had for a long time. They said they could not pack tightly because if the sorting people could not get everything back in haphazardly, then it could be left at that sorting station and not go on the trip.

The lady said she packs her undies in zip locks so they can be seen and handled without her feeling she need to wash them all. I "saw" her idea and "raised" her one--I pack my undies in zip locks and put them in my carry-on. I have had my carry on opened and sorted through, but at least I am standing right there!

I fly in support sox from the hospital--TEDS. Don't want my edema to come back and the plastic surgeon said that low air pressure on the plane could be just the thing to make it happen. So I put on the TEDS and some tennis sox and my sneakers. At the security site I put the sneakers in the plastic bin and walk through in the two pair of sox. On the other side I take off the tennis shoes and put my clean TEDS in my clean sneakers. The tennis sox that walked on the floor go in a zip lock in the carry on and at the first hotel they go in the dirty clothes bag.

Meds should be packed in their own prescription bottles, not in a weekly sorter with compartments.

Jan :earsgirl:

I have always traveled with my meds in the sorter - I have never had a problem.

We have 6 or 7 kids within our group and we are 8pm dining. It works for us we are west coasters. We have to learn to fit the show in before dinner, that will be the trick for me.

I've only had late dining. I really like it. Coming from the west (3 hrs difference) it's perfect.
Plus I like not having to rush to get cleaned up. I can go the show grubby if I have to.

I love that idea. Yes, we'll definitely do that. We'll probably do Sea World and maybe the Zoo. We'll drive around the area and see what we see. We'll only be down there for one day so we can't do it all, just a few things. But we will definitely have dinner again with you and Darrell. Pick a place that you love and we'll go there.

If you only have one day I would pick the zoo over Sea World - the Sea World in Orlando is better. Plus the zoo is located in Balboa which has lots of other things to do and see - really pretty location.

Let me know what you pick as we usually have passes for the zoo. (we're going there this Saturday).

Have to give dinner a though - we'll figure out what we're in the mood for at the end of the cruise.

A pair of cool shades would be good and maybe a hat from his fave team???

I hear the rest of the cruise when it's not a theme night is cruise casual...

PJ...

Come and be comfy!!! We just want your lovely company!!! I'd wear sweats if I could get away with it!!! I just found a few dresses on sale and I also have a nice black skirt to wear...

You know I just thought of it... Most of us are getting stuff on clearance which is funny seeing as we broke the bank to pay for the cruise!!! :rotfl:

Very nice... & what time do you have dinner so we can get a glance at you so dressed up????

Aren't kids great?

Linda!!!

How was your trip?????

Cary Grant meet Tevia????

Nice parking space.... I think I see my Hammock... ;)

I work freelance... I get to take whatever time I want... of course I will travel with the laptop, etc... so they can bug me or not (depending on if I want to check in... :rotfl: ). They also know that I am going on the trip and my stock answer has been.... "I don't even want to know any of you for the month of May... and of course 2 weeks in August... Don't call... send flowers... bribe me... don't even think of it!!!":thumbsup2

Pain is an amazing thing... rather I should say you BRAIN is an amazing thing. I'm a vet of 6 surgeries and while I remember the pain, I don't remember it in all it's horrific glory post op... The fear comes more from the thought of the pain than the actual pain itself. I do biofeedback alot when I'm in pain - my Drs. don't know why I don't do it all the time, but I explain that I cannot close my eyes and cut the rest of the world off when I am driving... Next time he has to go in for surgery... take my suggestion and get him a medium sized stuffed puppy. I have one... he's been through all 6 surgeries... Part of my problem and I was in a hospital hours away from home also was the hours inbetween when I was alone and in pain. My mom would bring in Jeremy and leave him on the bed as soon as I was in recovery... he stayed with me and I was never alone. I know it's psycololgical, but it works...

Here's Jeremy at the GF... yes, he's traveling to the canal with me also...(he's great when I get migraines...)

Well, unless I win the lottery, I won't have the fancy log home either!!! Probably a trailer or a cabin but access to one of the most beautiful beaches I've ever been on!!!

Did you ever go to the Tower Restaurant when you were there???

Dinner at 8???? That's what they told me too!!! Wonder what it will be now that we have a table that is linked...

Going to bed now but wanted to say we can request 8 for dinner if you want that is fine with us.

Ok everyone...

Mini not so sort of rant here...

I had a bit of a breakdown this morning...

Work has become a nightmare in the short run... the financing for this trip may be caught up in the mess...

I woke up in imense pain this morning and had to take 2 straight painkillers (as opposed to 2 crooked ones :rotfl2: - see Nan...I'm still laughing...)

Ended up sleeping most of the morning....

Spoke with work @ 3ish... got lots of specs and info that I swear went not even in one ear, but fully around my head (the phrase "why is he telling me this crap" went through said brain several times...)

Got no real answer to the finances part... :sad2:

Got hung up on when he had to take another call...

Sat there and sincerely started to cry...

Decided to take a short walk because if I didn't I wouldn't see the sun again until Sunday (storms coming in for tomorrow and Saturday...)

Came back in.... took 1/2 of something to calm me down (sometimes the pain meds make me nuts...)

Curled up with Jeremy (see above picture)

And fell asleep watching MSNBC and all the election crap. (can you imagine the weird dreams I have when I'm on meds... add Chris Mathews...)

I'm a bit better tonight, but I still have to try and get an answer tomorrow about the cash... Friday isn't the best day to find that stuff out... banking closes early for them...

Oh and I have a Frosty from Wendy's in the freezer... a saving grace...

So... that's me for now...

Hoping to get back to using happier smilies very soon...

I need spring... Is it coming soon???

Hi Michelle,
Here's some AZ sun for you!

:sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

Hope tomorrow is a better day!

Jan :earsgirl:

We've had our luggage searched several times. A couple times I didn't realize till I found their little note a few days later.

Luckily none were the times where the suitases had so much in them that pretty much explode when you open them.:scared1:

If we're going to wear ethic garb, I'll make sure to pack a traditional babushka to go along with the tux and make sure I bring along a traditional shopping bag and roll my socks down. I must have some shopping bags that have been handed down from generation to generation. Probably ones my grandmother smuggled out of Russia when she was running away from the Cossacks.

that made me smile....we have a favorite book from Molly's toddler years that is about Babushka...we have always loved that term and the look...blanket wrapped around ones head and hunched over walking like an old lady. Wilson does a nice impression of that one too.:lmao:

On a serious note. I'm interested in knowing how many of you managed to swing the time before and after the cruise?

It dawned on folks today that I was going to be gone for 2 weeks. I added, "Yeah, I'll be on a ship in the Ocean too, so no phone, not unless you want to call me ship-to-shore and bear the charges."

So, how did you guys manage the time off?

.

we're self employed...one client I hand off on Monday, thank heavens...the other client doesn't know about my dates yet and the new client that confirmed that she wants me to start in April-May, well I guess I have to admit to her before it's too far along....and I have cover. My sister and my sister-in-law have worked with me in the past so when ever we travel we cover for each other. Not perfect but better than nothing....Paul on the other hand, also self employed I have this dread that he will be called home for some unplanned emergency. Oh well...

Allrighty...
Bags packed. Alarm set. Kid settled. Ready for it to be morning so I can be on my way to DISNEYLAND!

Anyone in the OC gonna be around this weekend? I have a commitment at 11am saturday for and hour, but them I'll be around the park. Kelly, woody who's up for mini meet?

I can't wait to ride nemo. I know it's nothing big, but it's new to me! AND I plan on doing tower of terror and california screamin' over and over and over again..no kid whining that they're done! Ah...disney w/o kids...could it be any better?!?!?

Going to bed now but wanted to say we can request 8 for dinner if you want that is fine with us.

Late dining is good - I think 8 is right in the middle... that's what I had requested before linking... maybe they will do it for all of us... of course according to everyone... we won't know for a while!!!

Hi Michelle,
Here's some AZ sun for you!

:sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

Hope tomorrow is a better day!

Thanks Cherie!!! I'll try to keep your sunnyness going until I get some of my own!!!

We've had our luggage searched several times. A couple times I didn't realize till I found their little note a few days later.

Luckily none were the times where the suitases had so much in them that pretty much explode when you open them.:scared1:

Everytime I fly out of Albany my luggage gets searched... I think those guys just don't have much to do with their time and take a peek just to see what crazy stuff I'm packing for the nephews!!! ;)

BTW.....I will check the boards tomorrow from conceirge. So feel free to pm me if you're interested in a meet.

We are category 3 and don't know our dining time (other than Main). We do not know our dining rotation either. We have our room number, that's it.

Lucky you, we are wait listed for a 3, but I doubt at this point there will be anyone giving them up :sad2:

Nan, how's Molly's knee doing today?

And Lisa, how's Frank today? Did you end up hiring a nurse to help care for him?

She is fine. Grouchy about wearing the brace. We found out that she will have a dance and vocal try out for her school play next week. We were hoping just for vocal...oh well.

I'm hoping for a room number!!! :rotfl:

Hope she does well with the brace!!! Tell her it's best to take care of it now...she doesn't want to have it hurt for the cruise....

What's she singing in her tryout?

I did request 8pm. I think everyone who is at the table should also call and request 8pm. We did late dining on the med cruise and the shows were a piece of cake. Plenty of seating always ended on time for dinner. The real problem was if there was something at 10pm up on deck. We rarely made it up there by 10 without skipping dessert.
That is why I say now, and will ask again at dinner...please order when YOU ARE ready. The dining staff wants to wait for all of the table to be seated, but sometimes people run late or don't come and the other tablemates don't know that is going on. I hope everyone is cool with that. I want to enjoy my dinner, not rush to get up on deck by 10...ya know

What Steph means to say is we need to all order our dinner and not wait for her :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: I totally know what you mean. I will try to be prompt, but I'm known for being 5 minutes late, just order and we'll follow and catch up, or better yet, the first group to arrive orders appitizers and salads for ALL!!!! Then when I make my grand 5 minute late entrance I'll be greated by food and of course the DOD as long as it has RUM!!!
