I did get some weights a couple of years ago and have been trying to do some arm work as with being old I have got those wrinkles at the top of my arms!!! Also the batwings a bit, though the exercise over the years have helped that a bit.

All I can do is encourage you V to actually do it before you get older because it is so much harder then. I have spent most of my life on the bigger side. Not huge, but a couple of stones overweight.

I also have to say I thought you looked really lovely when I saw you in December, but you know yourself how you feel in your clothes.

Hey just popping in to show you a pick of the new 8x8 scrapbook realeased:

I hear you, in my 20's I could do aerobics for two weeks and drop 10lbs...not so now!

Erm, yes or no.

I wait until near the time and see how the packing go. As the belt, shoes etc are very heavy. My son and husband have own kilt suit so still thinking about it.

My friend is not bringing his kilt as he think daft for wear it once on the Cruise:confused3

I thought kilt would be lovely for formal as Keith & husband wore it on the Med Cruise.

Still thinking about it:confused:

Scottishwee35

Since our travel is a bit easier, I am bringing my kilt for one of the formal nights. Not with a full formal Prince Charlie jacket, but nice enough to work for a formal night.

I got more complements when I wore it on the DVC SS Member Cruise last year!

I just went to the above website and it says that particular book is unavailable right now but you can put in on your wish list! Just thought I would update everyone as I was looking at buying it!!!

I like dresses, just wish I had my old body back. You know I have had over a year to lose weight for this cruise and darn it, I am heading in the opposite direction!

Well I lost 15 pounds last month and I haven't done anything since. I'm sure I'm gaining it back but tomorrow I swear! :rotfl2:

Some of the nicest outfits I have are pants. I too am more comfy in pants but the dresses are a "cruise thing" for me. It really is not a big deal either way though as I change for dinner then change right back after dinner any how!

This is a good question for those that have cruised before. How many times would you wear a dress? I'm trying to cut down on what I bring so I thought I would try to wear all my dinner clothes a few times. I won't wear them during the day, just to dinner and after if I need to.

KILT! We will need pictures of that. Or will you wear your kilt when we pickup our Smart. After all - that should be a formal affair - right. :lmao:

Hey I just went there to buy it too! So fess up which ones of you here bought them all? LOL I found their grand custom memories package where they scrap your pictures. I think that is right up my alley. I think I can round up about 300 pictures after the cruise and mail them off. Would be faster then me trying to do it. :thumbsup2

Hey there I don't think I have seen a post from you before. Are you cruising the repo? I see in your post you are doing the July 27th Mexican. I am going to do that one as well as the repo. I am so caught up in this thread I think I will work on the July 27th thread after this cruise. :rotfl:

Crashing the thread, Ken? :lmao:

No, I am not wearing my kilt to help you pick up the smart!

I don't have any photos of me from that trip, although I do have one of me and my younger brothers that were taken about a year ago. (I am on the left).

Love the picture, Tony.

I had to laugh because, my first thought was Applied Physics Lab. It's where DH works.

I could see that!:)

OH.......speaking of his tiredness, the OT yesterday told me extreme fatigue is a part of sensory disorders because his body is always sort of on "high alert" and also always dealing with the struggle of what his body is craving to do and fighting to not do what his mind knows he's not supposed to do. No wonder he ALWAYS looks tired and always falls asleep so often! :sad1:

It's horrible to be tired all the time because your body is in High level the rest of the time. To be out of balance is so frustrating.

That's why I got the short stemed roses in a flat bowl. They won't take up that much room. I can keep them on my vanity or on my table in front of the couch. They won't be in the way and they'll smell beautiful and look nice for two weeks.....and they're pink.

Such a smart girl... have to tell that to my friend for the next cruise.

Some of the nicest outfits I have are pants. I too am more comfy in pants but the dresses are a "cruise thing" for me. It really is not a big deal either way though as I change for dinner then change right back after dinner any how!

I have many times worn really nice dress pants with a fancy top for semi formal night.

I hear you, in my 20's I could do aerobics for two weeks and drop 10lbs...not so now!

That's me too!

I am wering my formal gown twice and the semi-formal dress for Palo's. It is a cruise thing for me as well, the only time I get to dress up and I am taking full advantage. Otherwise, I figure I can wear my Tropical outfit 1-2 more times, but Pirate only once. I'll mix and match Mexican and then one more dinner causual outfit and I am done. It will be easier to change table mates than to pack more....:rotfl:

V, you are in planning mode today aren't you, I love it!

I did my passport on Monday, took less then 10 minutes with the on-line passport app, the nice lady said two weeks. I also hit the drug store and picked up the breath-right strips, more gravol, and sunscreen. I am getting kind of worried about formal nights, I might just eat up stairs, I am not really looking forward to dressing up, since I don't have cute dresses. I did see a couple of cute dresses on Avenue, but they really aren't dressy enough, will have to see what is avaliable when I get to Buffalo in May.

Pj

For what it is worth, and it is a personal decision, I really wanted a formal dress but did not wish to spend $$$$ on a dress that I would not wear a lot. I ended up with a beautiful dress on clearance at a large Bridal Outlet - I never would have thought of looking there. Someone passed along the hint to me - so I am passing it along to you.

Time to brave the pouring rain and hail and head home.....

I called and requested a dining rotation - I am spoiled as I asked my TA to do this for me - we will see - no guarentees I am told.

Thanks for the heads up.

Off to see what the pretty pink roses look like now...Were they ordered from the Dis site?

Glad to hear it because I was thinking the same thing. I was even questioning the pirate stuff for DH and me because it would take up a lot of room. The kids are Captain Jack and Elizabeth Swan and her hat is going to take up a lot of room. DS just has a wig with a rag. I was starting to think I'd be wearing that formal dress all day or I guess I could scare you all and wear my bathing suit everywhere. :scared1:

I must have missed a posting about deafness. I used to know American Sign Language extremely well.

When I lived in the UK I met a group of people who were deaf and it was a bit funny because, as I said, I know ASL and sign language is different in the UK.

A Canadian deaf person had to translate back and forth from ASL to BSL.

wow, you will talk to us with ASL as we will have two interpreters on this Cruise. That is right, we use BSL, and I have been trying to understand ASL. Last Med Cruise, we had so much fun with two interpreters and we are hoping to have them again.

Darn got some bad news today.

I had to send my Canon Powershot S2 away (the older version of V's new camera I do believe) to get repaired for the trip.

Apparently the zoom motor in the camera has died and Canon does not have just the motor available. In order to fix the motor you have to replace the entire lens and motor system. That is going to cost me $364 when all was said and done ($95 labour, $210 parts, S&H and taxes).

Seeing as how I can buy the newer model for just over $400 (S5IS), I just don't see that it is worthwhile to get this one fixed.

I was hoping to buy the Pentax K200D dSLR next week and have the S2 as a backup, so now I have to make a decision whether or not to buy the S5 or just stick with the Pentax and bring it on this trip....

By the way, if you have a Canon Powershot S2, S3 or S5 I would recommend you visit www.lensmateonline.com and get one of their adapters to help avoid impacts to the lens system.

Oh no, I know that the repair is very expensive. My camera is broken and I went up two weeks ago and they told me not worthing to have repair. Another camera I cannot find it, I think it is lost. But I was looking at camera similiar Canon Powershot too, still thinking as I need small flat camera for myself.

I like dresses, just wish I had my old body back. You know I have had over a year to lose weight for this cruise and darn it, I am heading in the opposite direction!

Me too. I was slim before had two kids. Now I am little fat and had been trying diet yo yo!!

Beautiful:thumbsup2

In my 20's I was doing aerobics 3 times a week plus swimming. Now I cannot do it, too busy and cannot be bother!!

:thumbsup2 I am thinking to bring some top with long black skirt for formal, can change another one top to go along with skirt. Got new mexican clothes, tropical clothes, Pirate clothes. Phew, I have some lovely clothes for myself and my daughter. One more for tropical shirts for husband and son.

Opps, I'm sorry. That sold out quickly. Again I am sorry. However they have tons of other really cute stuff in stock. Also you can go to their warehouse in orlando and shop too or have them pull together the stuff on your wish list and pick it up. Hours are limited and I would love to go but they are always closed or I don't have a car.
