OK, here's the rest of the story...

My cousin lives in No. Calif. (near Mendocino). Obviously she wouldn't be able to come to my House Party, but I invited her, and also her daughter (who also lives in No CA), so they would be able to enter the guest sweepstakes.

She, her daughter and granddaughter came on the last cruise I went on (June '06 Western). It was my 3rd cruise, their first. Of course we had a wonderful time and wanted to go again someday.

If you go to my party page
http://www.houseparty.com/party/43929
and look at my pictures, you'll see one of all of us on CC with Mickey.

So she calls me today; I see her name on the caller ID and answer. The first thing she says is "Guess what???" At first I drew a complete blank, then it just hit me! I said, "You won the sweepstakes!" and she says, "YES!!!"

The most interesting thing about all of this is that when I was trying to decide who to invite, I'd considered asking her, her daughter and granddaughter. I went back and forth and ultimately decided to ask my sister and two friends from here. I felt a little guilty for not asking them. Well, I guess there was a reason I didn't ask her...

So she's going to go on the same cruise I am, which is Dec. 7. I don't think I posted what I finally decided to do. I chose Dec. so I could see the ship and CC decorated for Xmas. I have no idea what the weather will be like; hopefully OK.

Today we talked about going to FL early and doing WDW since neither of us have been, so I hope that works out.

UNBELIEVABLE! I can't believe our good fortune! I'm just giddy!:goodvibes

That sounds great! Nice family vacation and free! :)

Have any GTYs receive cabin assignments yet? I just tried logging on and keep getting a message that their system is down (I think I liked the fish better).

So who is dressing up on pirate night? We never have in the past but this week I ordered the entire family pirate costumes. And my husband WILL be wearing it!!!! Although I did see a t-shirt I almost got him that said "My pirate clothes are in the wash".

DH won't dress up. So I ordered the Pirate Polos from the Disney Store on line.
We'll be matching. That'll teach him, for being such a pirate party pooper. :lmao:

Not sure why these are all so big and the vertical ones aren't flipped the right way...on my photobucket account they are...sorry about that!:confused3
Beautiful pics! Scott and the helicopter----COOL! Glad you had a great ski trip! The walk along the river must have been so pretty! :goodvibes

Canon Rebel Help please....

So, last night I took the time to play around with my new camera and try printing pics and such....All the pics are really "grainy" I can't tell if it is our printer, that I have the resolution set too low or a step I am missing. I know a few of you have (and love) the Rebel...can you PM me for some possible help. I have some great shots that look great on the computer but when they get printed they look horrible.

Thanks for any advice.

I have a Canon but not the Rebel, and not a cheap one either, and I found my photos grainy. I look at everyone elses beautiful pictures and wonder why? I so know I am not a photographer and forget what I learn each time I go away, but I am sure there should be a simple answer. I am interested here.

Oh, that site looks very useful! I like their Rudolph Club!

Yum Holly!!!:)
I've never ordered from there, but it sounds great! I'm not so patiently waiting for my delivery. My lunch is from 12:30-1:30, but no sandwich yet, so I guess I'll wait! :thumbsup2

We're mildly dressing up. Basically wearing red/white strip shirts (DH is wearing just red) and black bottoms...things that we can wear again on the ship. There's so much to pack for 2 weeks, that I've decided to not do the costume thing. I'm already fearful that we won't have enough room in our luggage. :scared1:

Well we got some bad news today and need some prayers.

I was supposed to spend the first half of my day scrapping with my mom, she even took the day off. Well this morning she called to say her friend who has lukemia was on life support and they think she was not going to make it. SHe was going to visit her, I told her to stay as long as she needed we would do our things another day. They think the chemo instead of helping her is killing her.:sad1: She has a daughter 26 year old daughter and new grandson. Yesterday she was haullcinating and today she is unresponsive. She still has a chance but it is small.:sad1:

Prayers for peace, calm, comfort and healing for all.
Jan

Good morning all,
Here's a picture of our area - photo taken from the beach - the mountains surround us and have been covered in snow all winter. Our theory, snow should be seen and not felt.

Wow! Was that after this past rain? In all the years that I lived down there, I never saw those mountains look like that!!! I'm surprised my mom hasn't mentioned it...looks amazing...and odd as a backdrop against the water!
