OMG - Don't you remember Vanessa ran away one night to a party for the Norway kids that work at Epcot. I made her PROMISE she and her sister will not leave my side this time.......You guys encourged me to go ahead and take them....Vanessa really has been PERFECT since then.....she really is a great kid.
I have no doubts that she'll be just fine this time. I'm positive she'd never pull a stunt like that again and you'll all have a great time! Can't wait to hear about it afterwards! :goodvibes

Good morning all,

Yes, it is another rainy day in the southland! My flowers look great, but we're sick of it.

Here's a picture of our area - photo taken from the beach - the mountains surround us and have been covered in snow all winter. Our theory, snow should be seen and not felt.

ABSOLUTELY beautiful!!!

Gee, would somebody give me some work here already?! :lmao:

Have I mentioned how much I love my job on days like this? Oh yeah.....I think I've mentioned that every day this week so far! :rotfl:

Have any GTYs receive cabin assignments yet? I just tried logging on and keep getting a message that their system is down (I think I liked the fish better).

So who is dressing up on pirate night? We never have in the past but this week I ordered the entire family pirate costumes. And my husband WILL be wearing it!!!! Although I did see a t-shirt I almost got him that said "My pirate clothes are in the wash".

Still in the lifeboat, but I am at least able to retrieve my ressie every time. No fishies (at least not for long).

My dd is asking if we can dress up this time. Where did you get your costumes?

Great! Some of us will meet at Epcot for a casual lunch, possibly at 11:30 or so (to hopefully beat the crowds). Others have morning plans and will meet at Epcot in the afternoon.

As the date approaches, I'll send a PM to all with lunch details. I'll also exchange cell phone numbers with those who want to meet.

Anyone else?

Woody

It sounds like a great plan!!! We'll eat anywhere, we're adventurous.

Hi guys:

Popping in late tonight asking for some prayers and :wizard:

My MIL has fallen off the wagon and we've found out that my FIL has been enabling her buy buying and bringing her booze. :sad2:

We checked her in the hospital for detox tonight and will most likely get her in the morning and have her stay with us thru the weekend while we look to get her out of town to a rehab clinic.

She has done quite a few programs around here and not had sucess, but always comes home to the same issues with her husband, FIL.

She is at a very low point and during the past New Years holidays she had 2 attempts at suicide. This was not the first time for this all became very clear to us when this all came to light.

Hopefully we have gotten between MIL & FIL this time to get her to a place that she can recover and make better choices. I'm just at a loss. I just spent the last hour online looking and not knowing what and where to turn.

It's hard being the outside DIL the boys (Paul and his brother) aren't assertive with there father and clearly he is not making the situtation better for MIL.

Wish us luck and strenght in dealing with this over the next few days and weeks.

I'll be here as I can, as I know the support you guys offer is so sorely needed to get me thru.

Nan

 Hope it all turns out. It's tough when they enable.

I will be one of the few NOT dressing up. I'll be trying to figure out how to put on my headband. I like pirate night, cause I can wear jeans to dinner!

Who put the bad idea into my head that maybe we should stay to see DL after the cruise? We've never been. The kids have school Tuesday. I'm afraid it is going to be incredibly crowded by the time we get there on Sun, and we really need to come home Monday at a decent hour. We have DW hopper tickets we could use, what to do?
If you've never been, you should check it out. It's going to be busy there, but since you've been to FL, you only need to concentrate on the different rides. Plus, it's the original...my favorite park! Very close together, unlike WDW, you can cover alot of ground in a few hours!

well I had never heard of See's candy before this thread....and today, the Controller, who just got back from California....brought us a box of See's lollipops!
I guess we'll be bringing some see's. It's the best choc. I like the softs, but most of my coworkers like the nuts and chews.

I'm about 13 min. from DL and 8 min. from the beach. These were taken in Surf City USA (home of the surfers) better known as Huntington Beach.
I have a very good friend who lives in HB. I will be visiting her in 2 weeks, when we're down for cheer. I really like that city. They live right by the beach. As close as they could get. A 2 min. drive to the parking lot. We've been friends for years, used to live together in fullerton in our youth. Her kids are in private school locally, but it's parochial school.

BTW...the restaurant called...they found my phone last night...so no IPhone for me. I am very happy and I am going to copy my phone book into my hard copy address book, so I have those numbers.

Steph

Although ugly as heck, here's what Tyler insists I need for the cruise: http://www.buxtonbag.com/. :rotfl: He came home from his dad's a couple months ago and excitedly said something like, "MOM! MOM! You gotta see this purse I saw on my dad's tv! Nobody can steal it and it can hold bottles of water and EVERYTHING! And your phone is right on the strap so you can always find it!" We finally saw the commercial at our house and he jumped up and down telling me that's what he was telling me about. :lmao:

This is what I use. It's not all that attractive either, but ir holds all my stuff and whatever DH decides he no longer wants to carry.:)

I'm thinking we should go over to the Disneyland forum and post a thread asking all the SoCal DISers to STAY HOME on Sunday! :lmao: :lmao:

.

:eeyore: Well if you want us to stay away, I guess we will :sad1: ...We were thinking we'd come along and be part of the fun......Show everyone "our" Disney, and all......

But okay.....

(J/K, you know! My ds will be having withdrawals after 2 weeks of no DLR! Especially if he meets teens on the cruise who've never been, we'll be there!!)

They all might want to if they know we are going to invade DL.:lmao: By then we will all be buddies so just wait till we see a fellow cruiser in the park!!!
:dance3: :mickeyjum  :chat: :crowded: :rotfl2:

The eclipse here was at 3am, so we didn't bother. We have seen one a couple of times and it can be really impressive, so I was annoyed at the timing.

HHmm.. We should send an email of complaint about that timing issue!! ;) :lmao: :rotfl2:

hee hee hee

Well, I think everyone knows I won the House Party host sweepstakes (one of two winners)--that was back in Jan.

But today I found out....

that.....

my cousin is one of the four winners in the House Party guest sweepstakes!!!

:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

That is amazing, you definately had the Best Party!!!! Think of all the fun you'll have. It's a family reunion trip for sure.:thumbsup2

A little update on the Fish teams:
Children that have an extender as reported to Liserann: 81
Total DISer Children: 113
Total extenders/cabins as reported to Liserann: 95
Total DIS cabins: 142 (both this number and the 95 include some cabins that have 2 extenders – I’ve counted them as separate cabins)

If you are interested in participating in fish extender gifting, but have financial or other restraints, some teams do need help distributing. That being said, you don’t need to give to receive! But you do need to make sure Liserann has you down as having a fish extender. Below are those that are giving gifts….if you would like to join either as part of a team, or help distributing, please PM as soon as possible. I will be closing up the teams after March 1 and people can contact the team leaders directly if they would like to join after that point. Of course, anyone can decide to give gifts as a solo person anytime! Thanks! Lisa

Monica, loved the pictures of Sydney. I just love her little orange tipped nose. You can tell someone lovers her orange veggies. Our youngest had the same thing. :goodvibes

Tyler wears his pirate outfit not only on pirate night, but MANY, MANY times throughout the cruise! :rotfl: Right Heather?! :lmao:

I'm looking forward to seeing him and you too!! What are you going to wear Holly?;)

I'm about 13 min. from DL and 8 min. from the beach. These were taken in Surf City USA (home of the surfers) better known as Huntington Beach.

How lovely. Easy trip home for you on May 25th then!!!
