I had "Uncle Dave" as my server at Whispering Canyon in my Jan 05 trip. Loved it when he got snarky with my sister and threw out the "Love Ya, Mean It" line...I thought she was going to laugh herself sick. (Big city, big sister...loves folks with 'attitude'.)

DH will be finding out that he is going on the cruise within the hour. Brent is coming over after church and doing the treasure hunt with him. PC cruise is the prize!

Ok so they update on my moms friends is very sad. SHe passed away Sat night. But everyone is ok they woke her up one last time and said their goodbyes. Before she died she left written instructions that she didn't want a funeral were everyone was sad. She wants to be cremated and her DD and DSIL to go on a cruise and pour her into the sea. So they are going to have a service at the church and honor her wishes. At least she will be where she wanted to be. And she is not in anymore pain.

John1 - I love that you are reading those books to Sophie....my grandad used to do that when I was very young and I loved it.....although, I was begging him to read morning, noon and night.

Morning All! John...Jaide and I have read all of the HP books except the last one together. Of course I need to read them first because I couldn't stop every few chapters without knowing what happens next V, what great memories!

One thing we started doing was downloading books on tape to our ipods and listening to them on road trips. Right now we are almost done with Peter and The Star Catchers....if you have not read this one yet....it is a must read! It is about how Peter became Peter Pan........

so my digital camera is completely out of commission. On best buy they have a canon A560 8.0 mp - I have and A610 5.0mp for relatively cheap. I am just wondering if I should stick with the Canon's...it's been pretty user friendly.

V, as you know DrHug and Brack always recommend Canon.

The more megapixels the better the quality of pictures and the larger they can be blown up. The draw back is the more megapixels the more memory you use with each picture. 8 megapixel seem to be a good match for the average user. Also look at the "optical zoom" not the "digital zoom" because digital only enlarges a small part of the over all picture and thus decreases the picture quality where optical zoom still gives you your full megapixel resolution.

OK all it is 5:40 here and Marr is awake. I do not ever wake this early. Sometimes I am still awake from the night before but never do I wake so dang early. So why am I awake you might ask? Well my daughter had a friend stay the night here last night. We had been over at the other family's house and came home around midnight. The girls were running around while I put my son in bed. I fell asleep with my son and woke up a little after 5 am freezing! I get up and my daughter is awake. I tell her to go to bed to which they reply they just woke up. Hmmm why is it so cold? The girls were playing and thought it was hot when I was laying down in my sons room so my daughter switched the heater off and the ac on! I am sitting here typing with my robe on and a blanket over me and some thick socks on. It was 60 degrees in the house!

Now before you all laugh since a lot of you post about 12 degrees being toasty and warm. I keep my house at 72 most of the time and about 60 in the summer. Yes everyone tells me my house is like a little old lady's house. Hot in the winter and freezing in the summer. Oh well must have been all the years I spent tons of my time with my grandparents! I am sitting here and waiting for my bedroom to warm up.
