Good Morning Folks - I wish you all a week without fish.

Other than the adventures from booking night - I cannot keep you with your posts during the week, but I will check back,

The planning pages are great - thanks for whoever put them together - I have used them often.

Now I need to prepare my cruise booklet of all this important information and think about a packing list.

Later....:wave2:

0F is extreme cold and closes school???

It was below -22 F here and my dd6 still walked to school, and no one here thinks anything of it.

At 0F closing school we would have a severely reduced school year...

A little different here Ken for a few reasons . . .

  • No one prepares for that kind of cold here- while it does go below Zero F, mid-teens to twenties is the norm
  • We just cancelled bussing for kids that live within two miles of school because of our levy failures. Lots of kids that once caught the bus now walk, and parents are mad enough.
  • You have thicker blood up there in BC

I am not planning on using my cell phone. However the neighbor is watching our dogs wants to get a hold of us. Will have e-mail on the ship, anyone have a good rate for cheap cell phones. I have sprint charging $1.49 a min in Mexico.

Annette

OK, I was going to post this question on the cruise boards, but we'll see if anyone here knows . . .

I have a Verizon Blackberry now. With the new ability to use a cell on the ship, how exactly does this all work? Is there a charge from the ship and a charge per minute from the carrier, or what?

How about data? The guys at the Verizon store thought the data would be no charge since I have an unlimited plan, but I am guessing that is wrong. Do you get charged and how much for accessing your email or the web on your phone from the ship?

Thought I would share a few pics from our "Excursion booking night" here at home.

Here is Shannon early on in the evening. Note she is still all smiles ..

A little later in the evening (or was it morning at this point??) and Shannon isn't smiling anymore...

Tell me if I am wrong, but in the second photo, I think I see fish reflected in the glasses!:rotfl2:

Great photos Ken!

Nan, as always, we are on the same page!!

I was planning to not only send the Champagne, but to do a DVD AND tasting notes for Ya'll!!!

No cancelling... nope... not allowed!!!

No more discussion to this effect... I am sure that another DISer, (Can't think of the name, but there is someone else with a Suite...) with a suite will come through for this. After all, you all still have a couple of months before you have to make a final decision!!

We wish we were going with you...

Karen

Karen,

Good to see you back here. Please stay on or we will miss you all the more! Was really looking forward to meeting you for real, but until then, stick around, you are part of the family!

Did you hear Roy Scheider died? maybe he was waiting

(sorry, I know I shouldn't have seeing how he just died but I couldn't help it, what a coincidence)

Believe me, totally unintentional. How weird is that?

BTW, Ian, I am not from Chicago. Good to see you finally came over here, but good luck keeping up! It has become even worse than when we started, because there are MORE of us now!

Good news!
Good location too. Our first cruise was in 5630 and we loved the location, very quiet.
Could've booked it for this cruise myself online but was waiting to hear from the TA so missed out on it.

(Well, I'm pretty sure it was 5630 but Big Brother won't let me access the deck plans to check! Deck 5 aft, starboard, last Cat 6 before the Cat 7's start.)

If we ever get that system at the office, I will lose my mind. Not at the office now, at home, but every once in awhile I like to get caught up and renew my sanity.

Well, I will quit talking to myself, and try to get something done around here while Sophia is still in bed.

I found out we went to bed RIGHT before they decided to close school today. I got an email at about 10:30. I could have stayed up and let her stay up too!

check the stateroom still GTY!!

wonder if all Cat 6 GTY??

Scottishwee35

That's what I was wondering too.

I guess I'll keep asking the question ... Anyone from the Chicago area on this cruise?

Sorry, I didn't ignore you but we're not from Chicago I'm afraid!:)

I thought I heard that Bob was on this cruise (Bob Varley) but I have heard nothing about a meet.

Sophia will be happy. No school today. Bitter cold and wind chill outside, and since we stopped bussing within two miles of the school, too cold for kids to walk (yeah, I know, we used to do it when we were kids, both ways uphill, in the dark, in sub-zero weather).

Anyhow, good morning everyone, and no work for me today, but Sophia will be with me all day, which means less work around the house as I keep her entertained.

Well we can hardly expect the very generous onboard credit AND a meet can we?

Tell me if I am wrong, but in the second photo, I think I see fish reflected in the glasses!:rotfl2:

Great photos Ken!

Oi!!! Stop being naughty and winding us up!!! We'll send you to the naughty corner!!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Karen,

I think Karen said she was going to be at DL from the 25th May, so we should all try and get to meet them.

I copied this from another post.

All you do is call Verizon and tell them you want to activate international roaming on your plan (no fee for this) and then once you are done talking to them ...on your cell phone... diale *228 and press send...listen to the prompts and press 2, It will update your phone and your set!

ok, TMI for everyone else but us girls gotta know the facts. I gotta see the before and after and then I'll do it. I think this stuff is such hooey, but I'll believe it when I can see it...

Who is going to join me in getting the princess updo in the salon for formal night???

That reminds me, I had been wondering. How much does it cost to have your hair done in the salon?

I guess I'll keep asking the question ... Anyone from the Chicago area on this cruise?

I think Brisully is from Illinois, but he doesn't post much. Other than that I can't think of anyone who lives there now, though as I posted before, I USED to.

Ken, loved the booking night pictures (and what a lovely family)!

Well, a new week, a new opportunity to lose some weight :rolleyes1

.

I just saw a post where on the last PC cruise they had a "Princess at Sea Tea" in Luminere's for all the young ladies. Hope they do it on our cruise! princess:

Hmmmmm, wonder if you need a child to get in? Those of you with 'spare' female children might be able to make some deals. :lmao: :lmao: Some of us ladies would be happy to be stand in grandmothers!

.

At 0F closing school we would have a severely reduced school year...

We were not delayed due to cold...but lots of school buses could not start up in the weather. It was 3 degrees this morning, -15 wind chill.

good morning...well, my car seems worse. I could not go over 35....took me a long time to get across town!
I guess I am going to have to bite the bullet and trade it in.
