Mattel Disney Once Upon A Time playsets from the 90's

In my childhood toys I found some Disney Mattel playsets and they were made in the 90's circa 1992. The playsets were known as Once Upon A Time Playsets and were based on Disney movies. The playsets came with two character figures and the playsets had scenes you could change to act out a story or to store the character figures. The ones I had was Sleeping Beauty Snow White and Mickey's Toontown and Mattel later made these playsets with Aladdin The Lion King Pinocchio 101 Dalmatians Cinderella and Beauty And The Beast. There was also a locket series of these playsets as well. Were these playsets popular when they first came out?
