DBF and I were joking around about wearing matching shirts on our trip, but now I'm starting to consider it, but still hesitant.

Would it be weird if two adults did it? We are a couple in our twenties and it is just us.

Also, for people who have done matching shirts: did you make them before you went or at DTD? If you made them before, where/how did you do it (tie-dye, from the Disney Store website, etc)

I'm not ashamed to say that my wife and I do this every WDW trip. We stop by the nearby walmart (we always drive) on our way in and get matching shirts with the current year on it. So now we have a few that match and will usually wear them on the same days during our trip. We always wear the ones we just bought on the first day in the parks.

We are in our late 20s/early 30s and have done this with no problem/embarassment at all (and we have no kids yet). We also have a day during each trip where we wear the same sports team shirt so we're almost always matching except for the player name that day too.

Every MNSSHP that we've been to we've matched if we weren't in costume.

Go for it! :thumbsup2

We always have matching shirt days for my family.

Of course, I'm a 35 year old man who likes wearing mouseears too, so take my advice with a grain of pixie dust..... :goodvibes

I just put in an order for six matching shirts from zazzle.com, which has tons of Disney designs. You can add your names and stuff to them, but I didn't do that. Its an extra charge, and I don't like having my kids names on their clothing to begin with.

What I decided to do was get six shirts of the same color, but with a different character on front. So my DS has Mickey, DD has Minnie, I have Donald and my wife has Daisy. We are traveling with my MIL and FIL, so I gave them Goofy and Pete (my FIL's name is Pete too).

It was a bit expensive. Six shirts cost $125 with shipping, and that included a 15% discount.

My husband and I almost always coordinate our outfits. For example, he might wear a shirt with Doc on it so I will wear one with Snow White. He will wear his "I'll be your Mickey" shirt when I wear my "I'll be your Minnie" shirt. He wears his Turkey Leg shirt when I wear my Dole Whip shirt (and we always get a photos of him eating his Turkey Leg and me with my Dole Whip when in these shirts, but that's neither here nor there). Back in 2012, we were taking an extended family trip with my 80 year old grandparents, my parents, my older sister, my husband, my daughter (2 at the time), and me. We (my husband and I) really wanted to do matching shirts. People said no. Then we got an idea! What about coordinating shirts? We each picked a favorite attraction that was gone. On our shirts, we had a "Take me to... (insert extinct attraction)!" Then, we had a big picture of that attraction. Below that, we had, "Oh wait... (insert witty line about the ride being gone)." For example, my grandfather had Superstar Television. His witty remark was, "Oh wait... am I too old to audition for American Idol?" We did them on baseball tees and each had his or her own color. We got a lot of compliments on them and people didn't feel too dorky since they didn't match.

I say all that to say that if your boyfriend is hesitate to match with just the two of you, you can do something that matches, but is just a little different.

I wouldn't think it was weird, I'd think it was cute (I like stuff like that, lol).

You can find lots of vendors on Etsy who could do custom matching tshirts for you and your bf for relatively cheap (~$30 total).

Check Etsy for cute couples shirts!!!

I *love* the "I'm his Minnie/I'm her Mickey" shirts, or the "Beast Mode/Beauty Mode"

So many cute ones on there, still deciding which set I'll be forcing my DBF to wear on our Sept trip :lmao::lmao:

DH and I wear matching or coordinated shirts for SWW. It's just for fun. When I was pregnant, I wore a shirt that said "Youngling" over my belly. My husband's shirt said, "He will be a Jedi like his father before him."

This year, the four in our party wore "Han shot first" shirts to pose with Greedo at the Star Wars breakfast. No one pointed or said anything, and the pictures are fun.

You can save some money and have exactly what you want by buying cheap white tees and using iron on tee shirt transfers.

We have worn them every trip for 40 years! Part of the fun for us. Only day we didn't last time was the cosplay day for the 24hour party.

No it wouldn't be weird! Tons of people do it. A lot of people get Disney shirts at OldNavy or from the Disney Store website. I've never had them made.

We coordinated as a family on every trip - and when we went on our 20th anniversary, we matched/coordinated, as well. We even coordinate to the parks we attend.

MK - Elsa-Olaf and Mickey Minnie since 1928 shirts
Animal Kingdom - Disney environmental
Epcot - Disney matching pink and blue shirts with characters
Hollywood Studios - Star Wars shirts for Star Wars weekend, and Return to Oz (witch and wizard)

They made for amazing pictures.

PS - We also brought three pairs of ears each.

Nope, we never do that!

Actually other than the Hawaiian shirts, DW gets all the materials and shirts from AC Moore and makes them herself.

Not the best picture from my phone but made these for my family for our trip in a few weeks. Worked perfect that there are 5 of us!

My wife and I always try to wear matching or at least coordinating t-shirts. Of course it helps that there is a Disney Outlet store not too far away:cool2:! Last August we even got our daughter and family to join (well except gd, she "got too hot"!).

Everyone had a great time - and always lots of fun comments from the characters!

Check out the Creative Disigns board on here! They have some really great designs and will customize them for you for free. You just buy t-shirts and transfer paper and make them yourself.

I don't think it's weird at all. DH and I do it about once a trip.

Last trip, I had sweatshirts made from someone on Etsy that said, "I'm her Carl" and "I'm his Ellie" or something like that. We absolutely love "Up".

After being at MK for the 24 hour event ... I think anybody can get away with pretty much anything that's within the guidelines without feeling weird. It's Disney ... people actually appreciate a bit of effort.

Thanks everyone! He agreed to matching shirts so now we just have to decide on shirts!
