I mean I can't believe military personell would turn on their own.
There have been a few murder-suicides at Hood alone. Unfortunately its not as rare as you think.
I was thinking the same thing. On CNN, it sounds like they're leaning toward placing the blame on PTS syndrome from tours of duty overseas.
It's heartbreaking to watch the coverage on TV. I can hear the emotion in the voices of the military people they're talking to, and I just know these are people who are trained to control their emotions.
Terrible, awful, tragic, horrible.![]()
Nah ... I think it's something else entirelyyou are either very brave or havent been around here long.
I mean I can't believe military personell would turn on their own.
I really cannot believe you said that.
That's what DH said, the PTSD.
Maybe on a smaller scale.
Mass killings/injury of this nature are rare. (or it wouldn't have made the news).
There was another mass killing in Killeen in 1991 at a Luby's. George Hennard killed 24 people.
I was born at Ft Hood and both my father and stepfather were stationed there. I spent the first ten years of my life in Killeen. I am in shock.
I remember reading about that shooting.
I was just saying that it was rare--and this act goes beyond your typical murder-suicide. (did I just say typical?--that sounds so wrong.)
I was thinking this too (especially given that this was at the FRC). But with three suspects supposedly involved, doesn't that make it seem less likely that it was caused by PTSD? It seems PTSD induced violence is usually carried out by a single person. I could be wrong about that.
