Married Disney lovers

Disney Dreams, You should go and get your picture taken with every character you can!!!! Don't hold back!! There are so many adults that
enjoy the characters (like us). I love how at Disney I can let my inner child out! Think of it this way, you will be around strangers who you will probably never see again, so go for it!! :cool1:

Your dining plans sound wonderful!! I would have to stay at Disney for a month or more to try out all the places on my "list". Oh well, just one
more reason to keep going back!!

DH and I have been married for 5 years and have gone to Disney the last 3 years in row!!! We LOOOOOOOVE it!!! Can't wait to go this time in Dec. (that is our 3rd trip) After that then it will be BABY TIME!!! You totally need that time to get to know one other, and travel. I think you will only be better parents if you do.

Glad to find this thread!

DH and I have been married a little over 7 years (together 12). We have no kids and are in no hurry. We're in our early 30's. My main reason to wait on kids is because of my career. I'm a singer and in theatre, looks really matter. I want to take advantage of all the opportunities I can while I still look young. I don't think it's a coincidence that I can still pass for being in my 20's - probably because I regularly get good sleep since we don't have kids keeping us up! I also am just not willing to give up my time on stage to care for an infant. Some people might see that as selfish, but I fear I would only resent a child if they kept me from doing my true calling. And if we run out of time, so be it - we can always adopt.

We both LOVE WDW! Now, I'm the one always on the Disboards, but DH has been getting his Disney fix by reading the Imagineering Guidebooks. Last night he kept talking about how excited he was for our next trip - even though it's in June!

We went to WDW for our honeymoon in '01 and he's been hooked ever since. (I grew up taking frequent trips, so I was already a die hard fan!)

We now own DVC at AKV and LOVE IT!!!!!!! I feel really lucky to have a husband who loves Disney almost as much as me! (In addition to our shared love of Star Trek and Lord of the Rings!;) )

As adults, I really like going at our own pace in the parks, eating at nice restaurants, and enjoying my adult beverages every night!

hehe You know what? I think I will do just that! I read your reply to DH and he said, "Have fun!" Translation: "You won't catch me getting a picture taken with ANY character, but if that will make you happy, enjoy yourself!" :rotfl: Have we found the balance, or what?!?!

Our 4 yr wedding anniversary is Wed and I cant believe it will be 4 yrs already!...
Happy Anniversary. I hope you 2 get some time together to celebrate each other.

Maybe when he sees how everyone else is doing it and it's not embarrasing he will change his mind! Or maybe not! But either way, do what you want and go for it! In real life I am pretty shy but I love how I can just relax while I am at Disney! And that includes pictures with the characters and meals with them too!! :lovestruc I can't wait to hear how your trip goes!!:goodvibes

Oh, can I please join you guys. DH (30) and I (35) will celebrate our 7th Anniversary in December and we don't have children (want them, can't have them) and we LOVE  WDW. Actually, we started going to WDW because fertility treatments didn't work and I wanted to visit the Ripley's Fertility statues, so I decided that we would go to Disney to stay and play for a few days and we have been back 5 times since, with our 7th trip starting tomorrow evening, and our 8th trip in December.

We are first year AP holders, trying to decide when to re-new. We are taking my cousin, her children and her sister for a trip in December and are really looking forward to that. We took her oldest daughter with us on our first trip, and in June. I am also thankful I got to take my mom on a few trips. She passed away 4 weeks ago and it has been hard. We are taking our trip this weekend as a memorial to her, since she and I were actually preparing to leave for WDW when she died.

I am trying to decide if I want to make the journey to California to visit DL and CA. We would have to drive, because I am afraid of flying, but a trip from AL to CA is looooong. I don't think I would mind, enjoying the sights along the way and this would give us the opportunity to visit some of DH's family, I just can't decide when to go, maybe 2010.

As a former Californian and a former Tennessean, I cannot imagine driving out to Disneyland. I went when I was younger and now that we have been to WDW, I cannot see going back to Disneyland unless it was involved with a much greater California trip. We are 40, married 17 years, no kids by the way which is why we are on this thread. :)

WDW gets you into the "magic" well before you even see the first park. It is a whole "world" and Walt intended it to be a true escape from all things outside the "world."

Disneyland is engulfed by all things commercial right outside its gates and the magic is not really felt until you pass through the gates. Once inside...all things Disney. But you just don't get the magic like you do at WDW. Fewer resorts that are Disney owned etc.

DH and I LOVE Disneyland!!! Absolutely love it. It would be a drive. My sister who lives near DL drove to Orlando this summer and back. It took her 4 days each way. They did some sight seeing along the way. If you had the time and wanted to see some other sites in Cali then I would think it would be so awful!

Is there a train that goes that route? That might be an option too.

I think there is a train, but I haven't looked at it seriously enough to know for sure. The reason for driving is so that we can stop in Arizona and see Dh's dad and stepmom and his grandparents, who I haven't even met yet and we have been together 8 years. His mother and stepfather are in California, I think about 1 to 2 hours from Disneyland and I know they would want to invade my space and I just don't like them. It may take me awhile to be able to go that far from home. I used to get homesick really bad, and that went away, especially when mom travelled with us, but I think it is back. I had a bad incident on the ride home and it makes me want to stay here.

I will have to see how things go, before I can plan a trip to Disneyland.

Another couple here, no kids...no immediate plans! I can't seem to get the 'baby bug'....but we SURE have the Disney bug!!!!

We are another Disney loving couple. Just married less than a month ago, and bought a DVC on our Disneymoon! We want kids someday, not sure when though.

Hi all,

I need a little input from anyone who has been to WDW recently enough to give some tips. We leave in 2 days and some last minute panic has hit. Instead of side-tracking this thread, I have started my own, but would LOVE input from fellow Married, No Kids Disney Lovers.

Here's the thread.

Thanks,
Dreams

Count us in on this thread! :earsgirl::earsboy:

Hi! My DH (28) and I (26 about to be 27) got married in Disney World almost 3years ago. We are happily married and love kids but not yet ready to have our own. :) We are heading back to the World on Tuesday and we are EXCITED!!!

~Shonnel and Joey

I don't know if this counts but .....

our "kid" is 35 years old so we usually go to Disney without him (his wife won't let him go :sad2:). He does go with us sometimes but not normally.

My DW and I love to go alone because we can take it at "our pace" (translate: SLOW) :lmao:

Hi! My DH (42) and I (39) we got married in February of 2000 in Jamaica. We are happily married and love kids but not able to have one our own. We are heading back to the World next September and we are EXCITED!!!

We're married (27,31)with one DD, but our last Disney trip was for *US* but we dragged her along ;)

I think DH and I just have a different take on being a married couple, and parents. We're still "us" and there's no changing that, ya know? We just have another person in our family, and she just happens to be a cool little kid. (And we love and take care of her, of course)

We have just as much fun at character meals, and I get giddy as a schoolgirl with the characters, and I love the whole Disney experience. Heck, we got married there!

So that's us in a nutshell.

DH and I do not have kids and love WDW so much...back in 06 I wanted to experience WDW with kids so I took my 3 and 10 year old nieces for 3 days....wow was that nothing like how we normally do things, still fun but oh so stressful.

We are taking the girls back in Jan, they will be 6 and 13 so I hope it will be much easier!

Hi,

Do we count, we have children but they are now grown so DH and I make more frequent trips to Disney. We "just us" trips.
