Mardi Gras Questions

We will be at Universal Mardi Gras on Sunday, March 13. Does anyone know details about the American Express Mardi Gras parade viewing area? Is it worth it? How early would we need to be there? Is there seating or just a special standing area?

I believe it is like the AP area. It's just roped off and standing room only. I say not worth it.

Thanks. Where is the best place to view the parade...and gets lots of beads.

We always stand at the edge of the music plaza across from Monsters Cafe. Then after the parade you are right there for concert. We have been at many locations and to tell you the truth it's hit of miss on amount of beads. Just go and have fun.

Does the parade run in the rain? What about all the other booths, are they open in the rain. We will be there Sunday night and really hope to catch some of the Mardi Gras festivities, but rain is predicted.

i have been at UO when the daily parade was cancelled due to heavy rain.
last year it was a drizzle and the parade was still held but done differently.

no stilt walkers and most were on the float or walked along (no stilt tm walked) the float and shook hands with kids along the route.

would think the same procedure would be followed for mardi gras parade.
don't know about the booths.
